I'm the guy that made the video of the chair squeaking. Today the chair broke in a way that's probably irreparable. The mechanism that holds the mast that has the seat back on it broke. This is the part with the tension wheel to keep the backrest height at a set point. The metal housing that holds the plastic guide split at the corner. It is unfathomable how badly this chair is made. I have typically used the chairs from costco or office depot and not one has had this kind of failure. I used a stealth chair like the one I bought at Vance Powell's studio and really liked it. I bought one. After a while it began squeaking and creaking. The rubber bushings broke a couple times. I purchased replacements. Now this backrest mount has split out. I weigh about 200 pounds or about 90 kilos. I don't crash down on this chair or abuse it but I do use it all day nearly every day, like all the other chairs I've had. Ergonomically this chair is successful until it breaks from being made poorly.

After years using a cheap chair for long days of production and mixing, my back told me it was time to invest in a pro chair. I found the Crown Stealth appearing time and time again on the channel of a certain 'master' youtuber. Both he and his featured guests speak about what a game changer the chair is, so it seemed like the obvious choice for me.

Off the bat I found it less comfortable than my previous cheap chair having no upper back support. I didn't take that as such a bad thing and figured its good that my back was finally having to do put in some work. The ergonomics of the chair is its selling point but after 8+ months of using it, there are often moments when you just want to lean back and be comfortable for a second and you can't really do that with this chair. With this chair you're comitting to a different style of sitting having only lower back support, so make sure its right for you.

The squeaking became an issue almost immediately and is very annoying when working, let alone recording. They say to only use graphite lubricant spray to resolve this (I have to do it every 6 weeks or so as the squeaking always returns) and these sprays are extremely messy and will stain anything it lands on so make sure to do it outside.

The latch which frees the back support to allow it to adapt to your movements can take several attempts to catch, and it has hit my hand several times while trying to latch it which is extremely painful as the spring mechanism is so strong. Even when latched it can often come undone at any given moment.

The elbow rests are rock hard and you'll be feeling it after a couple of hours.

My back feels the same as it did pre-stealth chair and my takeaway from this is that chairs are not one size fits all and my next chair purchase (which will be soon) will be from a place where I can try it out and see if its right for me and won't be based on trusting the advise of a youtuber.

This chair is Fabulous. It makes the long hours of sitting at the Console so comfortable. Adjustable for all backs. A must have for long hours in the Control Room.

A little pricey for what you end up with. I still prefer the secret lab omega or titan chairs.

This is hands down the best feeling chair I have ever used. I honestly miss it when it sit on other desk chairs.

The one really crazy drawback is how NOISY these are. It creaks and squeaks with every movement. Not ideal in a recording studio.

When I contacted the company, they suggested a specific lubricant. It helped, just long enough to pass the warranty period unfortunately. Now, the lubricant is no longer helping.

I actively edit photos, audio, and video for hours at a time and this chair was a godsend!
It took maybe 15 minutes to assemble and after playing with some of the features, I am now sitting in the best desk chair I have ever owned!
I was skeptical when I saw how small the back was, but the lumbar support on this thing cannot be beat, it literally massages you as you move around. I HIGHLY recommend the investment, your body will thank you!

Ergonomically all the other reviews sum it up and then four machine screws with blue loctite back out and cannot be screwed back in without breaking a bracket apart. Didn't even last 2 years. I expect more for a $ chair. All these ways to adjust the chair but they make four screws inaccessible.

So, I'll try to make this review as short as I can, if possible.

First of all, it should be one of the biggest priorities, to get your self a good chair as a music producer/engineer - your back/neck/posture is so important in the long run, trust me! You want to also have a productive working environment; we all know, it's not always that comfortable to sit hours and hours behind the desk.

This chair will make your posture straight, that's for sure. It's like, you don't even think about your back when you sit on it, that's how comfortable it is. Making your long hours feel nothing. It have also helped my neck posture, even though the backrest doesn't cover that part, but, since it covers your spine on line, your neck follows with it automatically.

The only "down side" for me would be that the armrests are little bit to loose, it swivels little bit too much (my preference), but that's a quick fix.

Also, the people behind the company are so nice, they really try to make you happy. Great customer servicing is rare in 2022, but this guys really surprised me - they compensated me right away for whatever issue I had with my first order. Thank you Stealth Chairs for making our daily life easier with this amazing product.

P.s, if you have a chance to get the red model, GET IT, it's so freaking beautiful (make sure that the size fits you though).

I've had this chair since about June 2021. It is a good work chair and is generally comfortable. I have the large size that was over $ US at the time of purchase, if I'm remembering correctly. My chair is set up as rigidly as possible and it creaks like an old ship. It rocks fore an aft as well as side to side. Sure, I've heard worse but for the money it's not any better than a typical task chair from Costco or any other big box store from a mechanical perspective. I weigh around 200 lbs. I do not stand on this chair or use it for anything but sitting in a normal fashion. I don't fall into the chair, I don't use it for anything but sitting at my recording desk in a non abusive manner. I am the only user of this chair to the tune of 99%. Occasionally a client will use it to sit in the sweet spot. The big wheels are nice.

Ten years ago the Aeron was the best thing in seating, short of a relaxing recliner. Helped my productivity and attention span while working at the computer. But the back never worked for me, it leaned too far back to be useful, and they didn't allow a lot of movement. Since the pandemic started, I have spent LOTS more time in the chair and a lot less out doing live shows. When I saw the "Stealth" chair it looked like something I could benefit from.
Sure enough, it does wonders, allows some movement, and has actual working lumber support that moves with me. Pretty darn good!

I have asked the company designer why it is called "Stealth" but got no reply so far. Crown Seating calls it the "Virtu" chair.

If you have back, sciatic, or shoulder issues stop shopping and just buy this chair - you will look back at all the years of pain and discomfort with regret because it didn't have to be that way.

It was straight forward and easy to assemble, the chair is very comfortable, and I had a massive increase in work flow, it gets very hot where I live, and this chair helps keep me cool while I work.

Coming from a $60 amazon chair to sitting in this masterpiece everyday has honestly increased my workflow and made 10-12 hour days manageable. I didn't realize I was clenching my jaw so much out of pure discomfort. Honestly I thought it was because of music (lol). Now, no more pain! I love how you can adjust basically everything about it so it fits the way you want it too! The only critique I have of it is that the backrest goes too far back when you have the lever down - maybe they will change that in the next model? Other than that, this chair makes all the difference if you're someone who is constantly sitting for hours and hours.

I have now had this chair for almost two years and it's the perfect chair for my studio! At the time I purchased this chair, it was not listed on the Sweetwater website. Therefore I bought it directly from the company EgoLabs. A note about assembly: The company EgoLabs sends you a choice of two different rod lengths. Your choice of the rod length determines in part how tall the chair can be and how low the chair can be to the floor. Once you assemble the chair with your choice of rod length, it is nearly impossible to change and put in the other rod. I could not change the rod after trying for a couple days. However, the company ErgoLabs was beyond remarkable because they sent me a free chair so I could get the chair to be the correct size for my room. Again, I love the chair, it's adjustable in several different areas, it easily rolls around the room, takes up very little real estate, and it very comfortable! It's even more comfortable when you put a slightly thin towel on it. It really is a great chair and the best chair I have ever owned.

The chair is comfortable and practical in every way, as a customizable task chair. Take a few minutes to set the chair up in order to appreciate it's functionality. The chair looks super-cool and takes up little space. Perfect studio/musician's chair.

Chair works great

The ergonomics of this chair are perfect for a studio engineer. The chair moves well and is adjustable in all ways that are important to comfort and productivity. The product ships with two height options. The "touring" version provides the option of large casters and a long gas cylinder. The "studio version" provides conventional office-chair casters and a shorter cylinder. Installation of the taller or shorter version is simple. The arms are adjustable in height and can twist away from the body. The arms easily adjust close to or distant from the body. One thumb wheel on each arm can be released to remove an arm. That allows the chair to convert in an arm-less musician's chair. The seat and back are made with a strong, stiff mesh material. Very comfortable and mesh permits excellent air flow. No more sweaty seat. The price may seem high. But, if you are sitting at a mixing console for hours, it"s worth the price. Your back and butt will thank you.
