Sonarworks Upgrade from Sonarworks Reference 4 Studio to SoundID Reference for Speakers & Headphones Reviews
At Sweetwater, we often say, "If you can't hear it, you can't mix it." This conundrum certainly doesn't apply to Sonarworks SoundID Reference, an intelligent software that calibrates your speakers and headphones to ensure consistent, accurate monitoring in an endless array of production environments. SoundID Reference works by applying a calibration profile to your monitoring output, supplying you with a ruler-flat response across all audible frequencies. The software is a breeze to use — most users find that they can complete the calibration process in less than 20 minutes. SoundID Reference permits you to make custom, on-the-fly curve adjustments, and you can save as many profiles as you'd like, which makes moving between different speakers, headphones, and rooms seamless and effortless. You can also audition your mixes on more than 20 different simulated devices without leaving your workstation. Think of SoundID Reference as insurance for mix translation. With it in your toolkit, you can be confident that your mixes will sound as good as gold everywhere.

Loving this product
It is a good product and cross grade from Reference 4 was easy. It would benefit from the possibility to save two headphone profiles to favourites as well as two speaker profiles ; one for tracking, one for mixing.
Worth the investment
I like the result of using Sonarworks for speakers and headphones, as it makes my speakers sound better in my acoustically less-than-ideal "home studio". However, I don't think the new version sounds any different than the original one (though I may be wrong), and I don't use the new features, so, for me, the upgrade seemed unnecessary. That said, I don't regret upgrading because it caused me to re-calibrate my speakers and discover that the resulting correction curves were very close to the original ones; giving me a bit more confidence that the process is addressing real-world acoustic problems, and not just generating random EQ adjustments
Better than expected
Thanks to the assistant it is easier to set up new devices and profiles. The extended capabilities for sound tuning enhance sound tweaking to personal preferences. Nice interface
Amazing
I thought my 3 sets of Studio monitors would help bring my mixes to new level? (Avantone Mixcubes, amphions one18 and Kali IN5) but I was still struggling to get what I hoped for; until I got Sonarwork Sound ID I realize how my Room was lying to me!
I am blown away!
Thanks team from Sonarworks! Make offline installers for it and it will suit my needs!

Features added were needed initial release was buggy but is much better.
Used reference for a long time also use Arc3. The update to reference SoundID is a good update. Some new features added that I liked in Arc 3 and they brought back some features that had to be removed. Overall a good update and they are fixing the bugs pretty quickly.
