Great plug in.

I recently used this on a class project in place of just putting a short room reverb on drums. This never quite did it for me, so I tried the Sound City Studio plugin (the drums tight preset). It instantly gave it that thicker room sound I wanted to hear and added a lot to the drum sound on the track......good stuff!

This is a tuff one.
I LOVE this plugin, but it NOT really a reverb. It's a room emulation that creates the sound of natural reverb in the room. I hope that makes sense. .ost other reverbs offer plates, halls, rooms, etc. This "kind of" does that, but what you get is what the mic placement in a treated room would sound like. BIG difference from the usual reverb plugin. And, it sounds GREAT! Miles above any reverb plugin I've used before. A unique, great sounding approach to "creating a space". 6 Stars out of 5!!!

This is a great addition to my home studio. I have replaced reverbs and room sounds on many of my drum trax with this. It places the drums "in the room" unlike a reverb or delay typically works. It's a really flexible and good sounding tool.

This plugin is incredible for adding space. It emulates recording in the live room there very well. It's almost like a psycho-reverb. It helps so much with getting things to sit in the mix because they sit in a space. Love it! Super helpful.

I've worked both in and out of "the box" since 1994, and this is hands down the most useful plug-in I've ever purchased. Certain YouTube content creators will shout warnings about how easy it is to over-bake your tracks with this emulation, but I fail to see how the sonic quality of a room can be overdone. Specifically, a room that has been emulated due to it's pristine sound and historical watermarking. Fortunately, Sound City Studios has two options to choose from with regard to routing. Go all in with Re-Mic, or parallel process your original signal with Reverb mode.

As a drummer recording primarily in a room that is less than ideal, creating a "space" for my tracks to sit in was always an uphill battle. Best-case tonal quality was achieved through deadening the room itself, as well as the drums via various forms of dampening... leather straps, mylar rings, etc. To my ear, Sound City Studios captures the essence and intensity of performances that may have otherwise read as dull and/or lifeless, and wraps the recording in a warm resonant blanket. It sounds natural, aesthetically pleasing, and it does a fantastic job of breathing life into stale VST instrumentation as well.

Highly recommended.
