Schecter Solo-II FR Apocalypse - Red Reign Reviews
High performance for extreme metal — that’s what you get with the Schecter Solo-II FR Apocalypse. Its swamp ash body bears a familiar single-cut shape, enabling a resonant natural tone and long-term comfort. And when you plug it into a high-gain half stack, you’ll be bludgeoned by explosive, harmonics-laden tones by way of this axe’s dual Apocalypse-VI humbuckers. Playing this guitar is effortless, courtesy of a smooth, compound-radius ebony fingerboard, while a Floyd Rose 1500 Series tremolo and Schecter locking tuners offer killer sustain and rock-solid intonation. Eye-catching satin black hardware completes the package. The Apocalypse is nigh — bring on the Apocalypse.

Another Badass Schecter Guitar
I"m a big fan of Schecter overall. They have consistently high quality across the spectrum, and their $ guitars stand up against Japanese axes that are twice the price. This guitar is no exception.
The photos don't really capture the metallic aspect of the finish, so I was pleasantly surprised when I opened up the case. It's genuinely striking. The pickups sound great, which is no surprise as Schecter has some of the best house-brand pickups in the business. Aggressive tone and as clean or dirty as you want. The neck plays fast and smooth, but one thing you may want to note is that padauk is an open-grain wood like wenge, so you can feel the open grains in the neck where the padauk is exposed. Doesn't bother me in any way, but noticeable, if that kind of thing would bother you.
This is my first Floyd Rose 1500. The other trems I've owned with push-in bars have been various iterations of the Ibanez Edge tremolos, and those have replaceable nylon bushings on the bar. The is just a bare steel bar that pushes into the trem. It's nice and stiff now and doesn't flop around, but I do find myself wondering if that's going to stand the test of time.
Great guitar and an excellent addition to my arsenal.
