Schecter Solo-II Blackjack Electric Guitar - Black Gloss Reviews

Solidbody Electric Guitar with Mahogany Body, Mahogany Neck, Ebony FIngerboard, and 2 Humbucking Pickups - Black Gloss

Modern metal guitarists will find much to love in the Solo-II Blackjack from Schecter. Like all Schecter guitars, the Blackjack features the same streamlined design and killer appointments that you'd expect from a tone-heavy workhorse. The Solo-II Blackjack has a resonant mahogany body cut to a classic shape with a stunning black gloss finish complemented by a cream binding. A 3-piece mahogany set neck with ebony fingerboard offers incredibly smooth response for shredding fast leads and chunking heavy power chords. A pair of Lundgren M6 humbuckers deliver classic, gritty humbucking tone, but you can dial them into your specs given a variety of tone-shaping controls. And a TonePros T3BT TOM bridge with string-through body supports amazing sustain — one of the reasons why it's a favorite bridge among the many modern metal players here at Sweetwater.

Excellent experience purchasing this awesome guitar through Grant at Sweetwater. Grant was very knowledgeable and helpful throughout the process, the guitar was delivered in immaculate condition, setup very nicely to my liking, is extremely playable and only required a tuning on 2 strings.

I am ecstatic on New Gear Day and will always be a loyal Sweetwater customer!

Worth the money!

When I asked the guys at the guitar shop who they thought made the best guitar in the thousand dollar range . They very quickly said Schecter.
I had been thinking about an EP or maybe a Gibson LP Studio.
This guitar blows them away! Best part is, it's not a knockoff or the economy version of a brand.
You already know all the upgrades Features. So when I brought it in to the guitar shop to show them and didn't say a word. They said great guitar and it needs no setup.
My teacher lowered the action for me. Saving me $.
It looks beautiful. Smudges do show up easy. Otherwise it looks great!
Ofcourse this girl can growl. Watch the YouTube videos. I was surprised it gets such nice warm clean tones straight from my mini boss katan. Not as warm as a LP Standard maybe but really really nice.
AS far as playability, I'm surprised my small hands don't have much problem. The neck is smooth and easy to hold. It's also not that heavy.
Lastly I will never buy a guitar anywhere else. From the communication with my sales engineer Dave to the people who took the time to inspect it and carefully pack and ship her. Thank you all so much!

I love this guitar!

Modern take on a classic

By Oz from NJ on April 16, 2022 Music Background: Serious hobbist

I always gravitated towards singlecut body designs and the Schecter Solo II Blackjack ticked off a lot of the boxes with its modern design, heel joint, belly cut, satin neck, stainless steel jumbo frets and high gain pickups. I used to have a MIJ ESP Standard Eclipse and this thing blows it away in every aspect you can think of. Build quality is top notch rivaling and exceeding, imho, anything from Japan or US coming out of a factory. The guitar has great balance and is considerably light weight with a very modern tone, superior harmonics and clarity. And as always a shout out to my sales engineer Jeff Bohan who made sure everything went smoothly. You will not be disappointed.

I've had this guitar a few days now and I'm completely shocked. All of my guitars are PLEKD and nice guitars. Suhr and schecter USA PT custom to mention a few. This guitar is setup just like those now. I tightened the truss rod 1/4 turn and dropped the action to 1mm across the 12 the fret and it's able to handle this without a PLEK job. For $1,300 this is stupid good not to forget all the perks that come with this guitar. The only complaint I have is the nut and pickup rings...... No rings. But there will be! This guitar is like any less Paul style guitar with tuning issues. If you buy this one have Sweetwater widen and angle the back of the nut slots. I did this with just sand paper but only after ordering new locking tuners which are unnecessary if the nut is addressed. THIS GUITAR IS AWESOME. Definitely meant to be played.

Schecter Solo II Blackjack Guitar

Every detail outstanding. From the finish on the neck, tuners, and fret markers and really everything on this guitar couldn't be better. I have found this guitar excellently suited for playing classic rock and blues.
My sales Associate Randy Poteete has made sure I get the guitar I want, The case that fits and accessories and upgrades that make my purchase unique. I value and appreciate his help on every purchase

LOVE THIS Single Cut

By Sweetwater Customer on February 10, 2022 Music Background: intermediate

I waited for almost 6 months but it was well worth it. LOVE this thing. Easy to play, awesome sound. Way lighter then a Les Paul and no head dive. What a great guitar. I would of gave it a five star rating but there is one thing that I do not like. The tape or pickup winding side covers get into the way when your playing (strumming). I am sure that if I was a PRO player this would not be an issue but for me its an issue as my pinky gets caught up in the black tape / cover a lot on the bridge pickup. Other than this one issue its one of my favorite guitars and definitely my favorite single cut. Again, I love it. Nice JOB Schecter.

Also, great job Sweetwater setup shop. All I had to do was put this thing in tune. Love the setup. It was AWESOME.
