PRS SE Silver Sky Electric Guitar - Nylon Blue with Maple Fingerboard Reviews
The original Silver Sky was designed in conjunction with John Mayer to elevate a familiar guitar aesthetic with PRS Guitars' world-renowned innovation. That collaboration is now making its way into the SE line with the goal of delivering a more affordable version of the Silver Sky — with all the same PRS quality! The SE Silver Sky features a lightweight poplar body loaded with a trio of 635JM “S” pickups to deliver all the glassy highs and round bottom end that you’d expect out of a classic three single-coil configuration. While the original Silver Sky kept the original 7.25-inch radius of its inspiration, the SE Silver Sky's maple neck and fingerboard offers a slightly modernized 8.5-inch radius that feels vintage, but injects a dose of modern playability. Since its inception, PRS has been known to push the boundaries of guitar design. The Silver Sky SE combines that philosophy with a deep respect for tradition, resulting in a high-performance, vintage-style model of the highest caliber — but at a wallet-friendly price!

PRS SE Silver Sky
It reminds me a lot of another guitar. Oh, what do they call it,, a tele, no, a Gibso,,, Ahh, A Stratocaster. It's like a strat. At this price point it is a good fit to compete with other guitars, say, Made in Mexico! Plays well, feels pretty good in hand. Little things here & there make me feels it is a pinch better than many MIM strats but then I find a MIM that is just outstanding, so,,,, It's a push. Still, it's a great deal at this price point.
Duane Stole My Review
Duane from Bradenton - I was about to write about my new Nylon Blue but other than not having kids at home anymore, you nailed it, my e-friend.
Only a few minor adjustments (and I really mean 'few' and 'minor') plus new strings and this is now the best guitar that this 60+ picker has ever owned. (Les Pauls and Strats, step aside)
I do not like non-maple fingerboards and this is fingerboard is 'suh-weet'.
Granted, I have never owned an ebony fingerboard guitar, but did have a fretless bass at one time...but want to try one.
Looked at eBay, Amazon, Musicians Friend, Guitar Center, etc.
The website design, buying experience, follow-thru, follow-up and on-time delivery - Sweetwater really goes the extra mile.
Arrived in excellent packing and padded box inside a larger shipping box. Nice.
Only one complaint - Sweetwater send a candy thank you. Nice, but diabetic...next time, send a variety of Sweetwater Guitar picks...I'll use those!
Fantastic guitar
I've had this guitar for a few months now and it's quickly become my #1. Looks and sound's beautiful and feels fantastic to play.
I'm in love with my new PRS Silver Sky SE with maple fretboard
Having recently purchased a PRS 10th Anniversary S2 Custom 24 Limited Edition from Sweetwater, I decided to add a S-type guitar to my collection. I felt the PRS Silver Sky was of better quality than the Strat. I preferred the neck and playability of the Silver Sky. My SE Silver Sky with maple fretboard in Nylon Blue arrived a few days ago, and I'm absolutely in love! Almost perfect in every way. My sales engineer at Sweetwater, Jon Mostacato, is the best and checks in with me regularly. As always, Sweetwater delivered a great shopping and out-of-the-box experience and fantastic support.
PRS se Silver Sky Maple Freatboard
Well it's been a long time coming and now it's here. I tried the rosewood..but I'm not a rosewood fan on a S guitar.
You all know about the sound on a PRS se Silver Sky with a rosewood fretboard.
Maple fretboard and these pickup...unreal! If you like the feel of untreated maple neck and fretboard this is the one!
My Sweetwaters tech Nich Magnani Ext 1727 is the man it arrived next day as I didn't want to wait.
Played it for four hours after set it up to my liking. Sweetwater have them in stock! No waiting and preorder.
My is 7 pounds and I love it. At 56 and playing for 43years and have three kids playing....Nich comes in handy.
Been a buying from SW from 2007..only gets better. Duane
Very good
No one could go wrong with this one. Everyone should have one.
