Solid Electric Guitar!
This is my first 'true' electric guitar - I've owned multiple acoustics, and a hybrid guitar. The feel of this guitar is amazing, solid, and well built. The maple neck with Indian laurel fingerboard is solid, and feels comfortable - not too chunky, but not super thin either. It feels just right! I was initially concerned about the Indian laurel fingerboard, but I have not had a complaint about it since picking up the guitar! It's smooth to bend on, and looks fantastic! The push-pull tone pot, while it feels 'less substantial' than the volume pot, still adds a nice ability to get a little bit more of the traditional S style guitar sound - but then using the humbucker, you are able to get bighting, clear and sharp lead tones! I personally love the neck single coil pickup as I prefer the 'deeper and richer' tones of a neck pickup in general - but have been pleasantly surprised with all the pickup positions and abilities to mix in the coil tap on the Humbucker with positions 4 & 5. The sustain on this guitar is out of this world - able to hold a note for seemingly forever!!! My only negative comment: the model I received was fairly dark in the 'burst', looking more matte black than a traditional burst paint - but has started to lighten up over time showing the gorgeous Canadian basswood underneath! I have about 40 hours of playing time thus far on this gorgeous and well built guitar, and very much looking forward to countless hours after this - I have a feeling this guitar will remain in rotation, and in my collection indefinitely! If you are considering a Godin, stop your search, you have found your guitar!
