TASCAM Series 102i USB Audio & MIDI Interface Reviews

First time ever getting an Audio Interface. I didn't even know what these were. I'm very satisfied with this. Plus Tascam hooked it up with a pair of Headphones and a Mic. I'm one happy customer.

This is my third TASACM interface and they all get better than the last. And they are all still working. The zero latency is wonderful and onboard DSP's are awesome for my home studio. I love the separate channel phantom 48v so I can run my guitars and vocals simultaneously. Thanks again Sweetwater .

I absolutely love this interface. It has to headphone inputs allowing me or an artist record in my isolation booth but also be able to communicate with artist in booth and listen on headphones in the control room at the same time. It also allows me to record with my microphone & duplicator by tc helicon right into my daw. I always have rocked the tascam interface and this stepped the game up. Plus you get a free microphone and set of headphones with the purchase limited time only. But I recommend to anyone looking for some solid gear delivering the sauce.

There's so much flooding of audio interfaces in the market like Focusrite, Komplete, Motu, Presonus etc. and it's quite difficult to choose what brand will fit to my preference. Good thing is, I saw this on sale for for a limited time here at Sweetwater, TASCAM Series 102i. Read the specs and reviews of customers. To think of it, I have to rely on the brand and Tascam is here since 1971. So I bought this interface interface last August 25 and it took awhile to arrived here. I've been using this interface for my university synchronous and asynchronous online teaching. I love the HDDA mic preamp and my voice sounded good with my AKG P220 mic when delivering my lessons to my students as well as playing my Kawai-ES100. They thought I'm using a real Rhodes Mark V. That's the good thing with this interface, it has a built in effects like reverb, compression and the 4 band EQ plus the most important thing to me is the 'monitor balance' knob for that zero latency monitoring with my Breyer Dynamic DT770 Pro 80 ohm headphones when delivering my online lecture on Zoom. One more thing I noticed is that it has a big leg room on gain. I'm just setting it in 12 o' clock and I really sounding good. All I can say is this is worth the bucks for this awesome interface. And also kudos to guys in Sweetwater for that awesome delivery service. Even the box has no crumpled part on it.

Just got this box a couple hours ago. Downloading and installing the firmware and software is very easy. Latency is really low. Tried this one in Zoom for my online teaching and it really sounded good. Thank you Sweetwater for your awesome service!

Everything in the stats made me realize, for the money, this was the unit I was waiting for to make my upgrade. I made the investment knowing that Sweetwater had my back if I didn't like the unit after purchase. I was not disappointed in any way.
When I opened this small box and pulled it out, I couldn't believe how much Tascam put in this guy for it's size, but what really got me was the sound quality, the low latency when using my mic, and the built in mixer. It's equipped with a phantom power switch on each channel, Two headphone jacks, expandable s/mux, and unlike my UR22MKii which did not allow for complete bypass of it's preamp when using a different outsource preamp, my Tascam does, and when I need it, it's awesome. I don't need a mobile unite, because everything I do is in studio. This unit is not USB Powered, and personally, I don't care, because I don't need it to be. If I ever do get a rare opportunity to work outside, I'll take the UR22mkii and make the best of it.
For the money, this Tascam made it happen for me.

I was looking for a simple audio interface for my PC, and the TASCAM SERIES 102i is certainly that, but all that it comes with is simply mind boggling. Cubase, T-RackS-5, AmpliTube for Windows, iZotope Elements, Syntronic, all included. Its a studio as well as an interface. I could not recommend it more highly.

Simple to install, and easy to control, especially with the built-in TASCAM virtual mixer. Comes with Cubase LE install codes, which is a very useful DAW to use (once you get past the initial learning curve). Floor noise is low, but is virtually eliminated once ground loops are managed. Power adapter cord length is a bit short, so finding a strategic way to set up your home recording studio is a must in this case (I advise against using electric extensions). The adapter itself is a bit wide so you will need to give it some room before plugging it into an electrical outlet or strip. Nonetheless, these issues pale in comparison to the great quality of the interface itself, and I recommend this product.

The free TM-80 microphone is fine if you're using it for simple voice recording. Otherwise, there are better mics sold here more suitable for recording more ambitious projects (the included microphone desk stand is very light and unstable, and I highly advise buyers to replace it with a more supportive stand). IMO, the free TH-02 headphones are not that comfortable to wear, and the sound was dominated by high frequencies with almost no low frequencies, however the sound is overall clear. I would opt for a better, separate set of headphones, but you get what you pay for in this case.

I love my new Tascam S102i & always been a fan of Tascam products. This was a perfect upgrade for my home recording studio. My old tascam interface is now being used on my video production & podcast computer. Plus you get a free tm80 condenser microphone & th02 headphones during May promotional freebie. Great products from great brand. You will be happy choosing this interface.

This device performs phenomenally! It was definitely an upgrade from my Focusrite 2i2. I went with this unit because it has an external power source because my Focus rite was not getting enough power from my computer. I really appreciate the mixing and routing features as well in particular the mixer because it revealed terrible clipping on everything so i just adjusted the master to suite. NOTE: out of the box the master volume in the mixing feature is turned all the way down.

Been recording w/this interface for 2wks straight now and the quality is great! No problems. Easy to use. Best bang for your buck! Worth every penny! Thanks Sweetwater & Tascam!

I've only had it a couple of weeks, but so far so good. The 102i sounds very good and the build quality and looks are outstanding! I do, however, have two small gripes and one big one.

My small gripes are that the power cable isn't very long and the hash mark on the front knobs (for determining how far you're adjusting) is hard to see, especially under low lighting. Perhaps Tascam should have made the hash marks red or black instead of just etched into the metal knobs.

My big gripe is that after making such a good-looking, well-built, quality product, Tascam is still using the old USB 2.0 and A-to-B connector in the year 2022! Please give us Thunderbolt (or at least USB 3.0) and a C connector. If it weren't for being stuck in the stone age, I would've given it 5 stars!
