The Bottom Lines: • It's Pricey...Very Pricey for a Switch 1. It's built like a tank with solid metal and a nice solid feel hefty quality weight. 2. Absolutely Perfectly Silent 3. No change or loss of signal in any way. 4. Ability to change latching, momentary, etc. with clear instructions how to configure it the way you want. 5. The led lights are very bright and different colored....very easy to see...a definite plus. 6. Obviously a build that will last for years

The three way power switch is a nice touch. 9 volt, Off, and +48 Phantom Power for Condenser Mics (included power supply) The manual states the 9 volt will give 30 hours continual use!! (toggled) There are no instruction how to install or change the 9 volt battery, but simple. Remove the two larger screws on each side at the front and it will hinge lift up to install or change the battery. For purposes of this review I connected a condenser mic with the power supply and still worked in dead silence like a charm.

I needed to separate my one mic between vocals and my Boss RC-300 Loop Station. This allows me to loop only the vocal parts I want and loop percussive tracks (claves, guiro, etc) without having to have two mics. I tried both the Radial Hotshot and the ProCo Panic Button and both were very loud with switch pop, line noise, and the ProCo Panic bled between the two channels. I use all Mogami cables and a Furman Power Conditioner so I was pretty darned certain it wasn't the fault of my chain. This did the job and did it perfectly and best of all absolutely silent.

Yes, you will grit your teeth and cringe when you hit the purchase button for this.....but you will not regret investing in it, if and especially when your show's quality and presentation depends on it.

I've tried other A/B switches for my vocal. This is the best in my opinion. Truly silent. Build like a tank. No gain loss or impedance issues. My applications: SOLO - I have my main vocals and my looped vocals (thru an RC 300) but don't want two mics (I don't want my non-looped vocals running thru the RC 300 100% of the time, just when looping). BAND - Talking to my band via in-ears. Expensive yes, but a simple and clean solution that I assume will hold up to the wear and tear of gigging.

I have used the ProCo Panic Button for switching my mic from front of house to my teams in-ears for years, but there was always a surge during the switch. Fortunately the surge always happened in the ears, not to FOH. I bought another PB for another worship leader, and this time the surge was a very noticeable pop to FOH. Called ProCo, and they basically said a 10dB attenuator was the fix. I got frustrated, and began looking, and found this. A bit pricey, but it has functioned perfectly, with silent switching and very solid construction. I like the different color LEDs beneath each channel. I'm very impressed, and will be replacing my other PB this coming year.

Works perfectly. I was a little doubtful the switching would be silent. I guess I'm not a very trusting person. Anyway, it sounds great. I tried it out with several mics (including some that required phantom power) and no pops or anything. Turning it off or unplugging the power could cause pops, but using it as intended it is completely silent. The LED's are very bright and are different colors, so it's really easy to tell which output it's using. It is slightly confusing in the description, but basically you have two options for the power (not counting off) - one that is just power for mics that don't need fantom power, and one that supplies phantom power to the mic. In other words it can't be powered using phantom power from the board. You can also use batteries when not providing phantom power, but the battery life would be really short. There are lots of options for how you want the pedal to operate, though you have to get to jumpers to make changes. The pedal switch itself doesn't have a hard clicking action, so it's not ridiculously noisy like some of those style switches. It's pretty expensive, but I am very happy with it.

Highly recommended. This is a great solution for clean switching to different XLR channels. VERY RUGGED. There's no popping/clicking/padding when pressing the switch. It doesn't affect the signal quality at all. And there is no bleed-through to B when A is active. That was a problem with the ProCo Panic Buttons that I first used for this purpose.

We use six of these boxes on our main platform in the Prayer Room, and are switching out the ProCo Panic Buttons in our Multipurpose room with these as well. If you want durability, we have tested and approved them-- we have worship teams on the platform 24/7-- I've had no problems with the whirlwind SelectorXL. Each of our main positions (worship leaders, prayer leader, drums) have one. Microphones are run through this box with output A going to FOH and active on default. Output B goes to a separate 'Talkback' mixer (Soundtech and these six positions are mixed and the output from the'Talkback' mixer goes to a channel on our Avioms with everyone using in-ear monitors). It's set up to switch from A to B on momentary, so that when a person steps on the switch they are sending to Output B. This works wonderfully, allowing the team to talk to each other without the room being aware. A huge help for spontaneous changes and transitions.
