Great for modeling

By Michael Lovell from Alabaster, AL on May 16, 2021

I've had this amp for several years. It was a gift from my wife for an acoustic amp and it sounds great with my j45,however when I plugged in my electric I was underwhelmed. Recently I bought a pod 6 go and I gave it another shot. I started with channel 2 which is for electric and the sound was good but not anything to write home about. I plugged in to the balanced acoustic channel (with the tweeter engaged)and was completely blown away. I haven't played electric in a few years but and I'm out of the loop but this amp sounds incredible and very loud with a modeling amp. I give it 5 stars

Rivera Sedona Lite 55

By Alan Burton from Naverre, FL on October 13, 2020 Music Background: Musician since 1964

I have been buying guitars and amps since 1964 so I've seen a lot. In my younger days I leaned more toward solid body electrics in the bands in which I played but in recent years I've become more of a one man band and I play mostly acoustic. A few years back I bit the bullet and purchased a Rivera Sedona Lite based on reputation because I had never played through one before I received mine. My best description is its the best amp I've ever owned. When I played in bands I used a Rowland JC 120 and that was my favorite amp for that but for acoustic guitar this Rivera is beyond amazing with any acoustic guitar faithfully preproducing the natural sound like nothing I've ever heard. Sometime later I purchased a Takamine Santa Fe with the cool tube preamp and I also added the Takamine Triax pickup fed thru the aux input on the preamp. The combination of this guitar with the cool tube preamp and aux pickup played thru the Rivera Sedona Amp is the most amazing thing ever. You would have to hear this combination to appreciate it. It sounds as natural through the amp as it does unplugged and just a few short years ago I would not have believed that was possible.

Awesome Acoustic Amp

By mjt from Cincinnati, OH on May 13, 2014 Music Background: Musical Study, Home Studio, Personal Acheivement and Enjoyment

I was looking for an amp that would complement the quality of tone from my Martin GPCPA1 Plus and that I could also use with my Gibson LPC. With the martin, this amp can provide tone that sounds identical to unplugged with higher volume. Then, if you want to shape the amplified tone, there is plenty of tone shaping available via a generous set of adjustments. As a bonus, I can turn off the tweeter in the back and plug in my LPC with or w/o an overdrive pedal and enjoy incredible electric tone.

Really happy with this amp. Was recommended for my Martin by my Sweetwater Engineer and I could not agree more! A great recommendation and purchase. The build quality is evident when you pick up and move this amp. I am confident this equipment will be with me for years to come.

Worth Every Penny!

Wow! Blown Away by this amp! I decided I needed to upgrade my current acoustic amp because I just was not getting the sound I needed or wanted. After a ton of research and playing some of the best rated amps out there on the market today, the Rivera Sedona Lite out did them all in my opinion. The ES system/balanced input makes a huge difference. I can even plug my mic into channel two and rock a solo gig. I Highly recommend this amp. It's sound is worth every penny!

Update to the Sedona

By JOE RIAN from IL on March 11, 2022

I did send the amp chassis in to Sweetwater for testing they sent back to Sedona. After some time in the que (6wks) the guys at Rivera and actually making me a fresh chassis and are standing behind their product in the best way. So Kudos to them for stepping up. I'm hoping this was just a condition with my unit. I know they mentioned that they have made some updates to the original design that addresses the low grade hiss that was happening. We will see what's up when I get it back. Hopfully it will be many years before this ever needs servicing again.

SOUNDS GREAT - WHEN IT'S NOT IN THE SHOP

By JOE RIAN from IL on December 6, 2021

I've had this amp for a couple years now. Sounds amazing, is a bit on the heavu side and does what it says. Sounds incredible as an acoustic amp. Not sure anything sounds as nice. On the electric side it sounds just as great. Sounds a bit like a music man or a fender. Nice options on the pull channels to make it a black face etc.

The only problem is that it's just not durable. I have probably played 100 shows on this and have had to have it serviced twice now. One with all new tubes and re-biasing. now I'm not sure since it just went completely south in a recording session, suddenly just started screaming with static at a crazy volume. Looks like half the amp just popped. Not sure but again it's left me scrambling for a amp before a weekend of shows yet again.

I'd love to support this amp but at this point I need to find a solution that doesn't need servicing every 50 shows.
For 2k you'd think Rivera would be of higher durability and less problem / boutique.
