Intellijel set out with one goal when designing its Sealegs module: creating a versatile, multimode delay that retains a distinctive character and musicality matched by its warm, organic sonics. Sweetwater’s synthesists are in staunch agreement that Sealegs is a sonorous success, and it rests on a formidable foundation of three exceptional delay circuits: Tape, Bucket Brigade, and Crossfading Digital. What’s more, each circuit features dedicated modulation behavior, “Color” values, and saturation/limiting functions. Likewise, three available stereo configurations comprise ping-pong, L/R, and Time/Width options. Given each category can be individually toggled and adjusted, spatialization opportunities range from lush, 1970s-style routable reverbs to immense, 6- to 8-second delays, or endless soundscapes via the Freeze function. Each of its nine CV inputs is accompanied by attenuverters and faders for deeply nuanced patch-building and extensive interoperative possibilities. Onboard modulation is supported by seven morphing waveshapes, alongside an envelope follower and pristine emulations of Wow and Flutter effects. Flexible synchronization options can be managed per left and right channels, while dedicated highpass and lowpass VCFs are complemented by hiss and crackle Noise controls for unmatched control of indelible texture crafting.
