Amazing

By Sweetwater Customer on May 4, 2022

I have the green version and love it. Hardly ever have to re tune it. Fret work is spot on, super nice edges (you dont feel em, super smooth with the fretboard). No neck dive.

Only complaint ive had is with the emgs (some sort of buzz/hum from the pickups or preamp (not sure).

Besides that this bass is sick

My SON loves it!

By Jonas from Los Angeles on February 4, 2018

I don't write many reviews, but I have been purchasing gear from Sweetwater and Delvin Wolf for a few years now. My son is 13 and has been playing bass since he was 9. His go to bass for a while was a Fender MIM Geddy Lee Jazz Bass. His taste in music has moved toward harder 90s rock and metal. The Jazz Bass just wasn't working for him. He really liked the feel of the Shecter neck and decided he wanted to move to a 5 string. He loved the look of this see thru black Studio 5 so I ordered it from Delvin and as always the service was fantastic. They bass was A+ in every aspect on arrival. My son refuses to play anything else now. He loves the sound, versatility and playability of this bass. He is able to dial in Soundgarden, Metallica or Tool in conjunction with his pedalboard. On top of that, people always compliment him on how great it looks.

Funny thing is Schecter is located about 5 minutes from my home. The bass was built, shipped to Schecter, sent to Indiana and then back to me in Los Angeles.

Awesome Bass Guitar

By Pengxiang Zhou from Cornwall-on-Hudson, NY on January 11, 2017

This is my second bass guitar. Fast delivery and exellent condition. The tone is different than the other brands which has better performence on rock or hard metal.

awesome bass!

I finally broke down and went for a 5-string, I didn't want to break the bank and find out I didn't really like it either. It arrived at my door in great condition-not even a dent on the box! Impressive. To make this story short, I love this bass.Having a hard time putting it down and my warwick is gettin' lonely. I want to thank Jason for his help with the order also, it was refreshing talking to a music salesman without an attitude, as i usually leave the music store with a bad taste in my mouth.I'm ordering all future music gear from sweetwater! Thanks again guys.

Excellent Bass

By Terry O from PA on September 21, 2012 Music Background: Bass Player for over 30 years

I have been playing for over 30 years and this is my first 5-String. the part that surpirsed me is that this is as easy to play as my Fender Jazz Bass. Even with the extra string the neck is thin and the action is great. The tone is terrific with the active pickups and the sustain is awesome.

The only one thing that threw me off a little was the length of the fretboard. This is a 24-fret neck and as a result I find myself reaching for the lower frets a little. The extra frets are completely unnecessary and mostly take-away from the playability of the instrument. If you can find one of these with a shorter neck, I advise you to buy it.

I am already getting use to it!

Becasue I am a lefty, I add to order the universal case separately. That case weight is excessive! The bass is not particularly heavy, but put it in the case and it is quite a load.

Bottom-Line: I am really glad I bought it. I love the extra low notes and I love having a close-note E on the B string.

I love this bass

By Mr Moon on July 21, 2023 Music Background: Hobby bassist

I've had this bass for a few months now. It's great. The tone is great and is great for everything. It's a lot more versatile than I thought it would be. I play it at church, and then turn around and play prog metal at home. I only have a few minor complaints. 1. The string spacing is just a bit too tight. BUT this makes the neck super fast. 2. The pan potentiometer was dead on arrival. After back in forth with Sweetwater and Schecter, they sent a new one and I got it fixed. The electronics in the EQ are great, and very nice quality. However, the volume and pan pots are pretty cheap. I would replace those eventually. REGARDLESS, this is the best sounding bass I've ever played, and I basically haven't play anything else since I got it.

I LOVE it!

This bass replaced my Ibanez soundgear as my main bass. It has a rich sound for the style of music I play. I want to get a 4 string just like it.

stripped tuner

By Byron Shryock on July 18, 2023

My Studio-5 worked great until today. While restringing the E-string tuner got stripped and would not tighten the E-string
