This is literally my first review on Sweetwater after years of shopping here for many things and this bass inspired me to write this review after tracking with it for a project, it needs more attention,
I purchased this bass for a need to have a slightly longer bass neck to deal with Drop A tuning, and this thing is an absolute monster of a bass, super thick and creamy thundering lows and beautiful mids and just enough highs to cut, but not enough to be even remotely fatiguing on the ears,
the neck plays like butter, zero effort going up and down the neck, I've been able to play more off the cuff and create more interesting bass parts in my music, because of how easy this is to play,
the 35in scale adds just enough extra tension on the strings to drop the B to an A and not feel sloppy, but isn't too long to where normal tuning is an issue,
the controls are smooth and effective, the bass sound good without even touching the bass/treb boost/cut knobs but in experimenting they do their jobs well,
the body is super comfortable and sits perfectly where you want it, so there's no fighting this thing despite it being a big boy,
And to top it all off it is simply gorgeous to look at, the pictures simply do not do this thing justice,
you can spend 2 or 3 times more money on a bass, but i don't see where it can be improved, this is everything i've wanted in a 35in scale 5 string bass period, and i think this thing punches way above its price point in every way, If your on the fence just get it, the second you get your hands on this bass you'll know you made the right choice,

An Absolute Beauty for an amazing price

By Aidan Scallan from TX on November 1, 2018 Music Background: Bassist In a Hardcore Band for 3 years and Vocalist in a Deathcore band for 5 years

This little gem I actually received as a birthday gift from my parents about a year ago. I was used to playing on fenders and squiers, and was unsure how to feel about the switch to a more High End bass. The first few days I got to messing around with the settings, I felt at home with the tone and quality of such tone, and was BLOWN AWAY. This baby has some of the smoothest and crunchiest EQ and some of the nicest pickups I've ever used. My band was opening for a small hardcore gathering in my city and I decided to bring my new weapon of choice up to the stage to break it in. After our performance, I had a few people on the front row come up and tell me that "That bass is Lethal!" I was very very happy with the performance of this beautiful guitar. I would definitely buy another Schecter bass when the time comes (or I get money to blow and wanna add to my collection)

A great bass, a great price!!

By Joseph Goosey from North Platte, NE, USA on December 12, 2011 Music Background: Bass Player for 17 years

I've been playing the same 4 string Les Paul for over 16 years when I finally purchased a 5 string. I had passed this one over before when looking around because of the cheap price. I thought I had to pay $800 - $1200 to get a great bass. I was soo wrong!! I was totally blown away with the quality and sound that this bass gives me! The Shecter brand pickups sound sweet! The EMG two band preamp adds loads of Bass and Treble!! And I love the Vector inlays!! This is a true sleeper when it comes to bang for the buck!! The bass is made from quality mahogany and maple woods! The Bolt on neck is a 6 bolt constuction which G&L uses as well. I was trying to find a great bass that could later be upgraded with EMG pickups and a Badass bridge, but the way this sounds, I'm not sure I'm going to do that now! The Ernie Ball stock strings sound very nice! The string spacing and neck width are what put the icing on the cake for me!! This neck is .03" wider at the nut than my Les Paul!! The strings are closer and make playing around the board really comfortable! I would recommend this bass to anyone!! BTW, Jason Koonz @ ext 1389 is an awesome sales rep!! Give him a call for a great deal!!!
