This is a nice case. It's relatively lightweight, fits my Telecaster tightly, and is nicely padded. the accessories box is large and roomy. I like it better than the traditional wooden/tolex cases. Recommended.

A case should do one thing very well - protect the guitar. Ken Nace recommended, and I completely agree with him. It does exactly what it is supposed to do!

As someine has already stated, good looking and strats & Teles fit properly, but the outer shell IS THINNER NOW, so it flexes and sqeeks as you walk carrying it. The older ones had a thicker outer shell and didn't have this problem. For this reason alone I would recomend the GATOR case, much more secure and tough as nails!

The case arrived when promised. Absolutely confident that my guitar will not be damaged; whether in a car, van, or plane!

I have two of these cases, I have both a Strat and a Tele, the case fits both and is made really tight fitting, it holds the guitar snuggly( easy to put in and take out) holds in place and doesn't move around.. this is a great case to protect the guitar when going gig to gig or just to store the guitar in, great case, ohh I almost forgot to mention the nice sized storage compartment, plenty room for extra strings etc. it also locks securely' really nice case highly recommend.

This is a great case, it protects the guitar perfectly. I have been purchasing from Dave Cody at Sweetwater for the past couple of years and he is an outstanding Service Engineer. Very knowledgeable and an exceptional person to deal with. I an very pleased with usual friendly service.

I bought this case for my strat because I was moving between countries, and I needed a good case that I could use to protect my guitar while it was being thrown around in the back of a semi truck for a couple of months. It did that with no issues, and my guitar arrived to my new home perfectly safe. It even was on tune!

That was back in 2018 and since that I have travelled with my guitar with absolutely no issues. I have dropped the case accidentally a couple of times, once with the guitar in it, and no issues at all. Sure it has a few scratches, but no structural problems.

I take it with me on the plane when I can. But when there's a full flight, the airline will ask me to document it like luggage. The first time I had to do it, I was so nervous and after the flight I ran outside and politely asked them for it. I opened the case with fear just to find a perfectly safe strat inside of it. Whenever that happens now I will immediately check the guitar inside just as a formality, because I know that the guitar will be safe and have no issues. Just a word of advice when flying with such a large object, be polite with the people from the airline, and they will take good care of your stuff. You'll be surprised of what they'll let you get away with if you ask nicely. I have never payed extra for taking my guitar with me.

I kind of wish that Fender also made cases for other brands in the exact same way as this one, because this one is an excellent case. I highly recommend it.

Needed a good tele case. And this was on sales so great fit for me and the tele!

This is a well made case that sits upright when placed on the floor. Does not want to tip over a good feature. It has a large case pocket for cord, strings, tuner etc. Guitar is held firmly in place which will prevent movement
during transport. Weight is on the light side which helps when moving. Great product.

This case is well made and durable, but surprisingly light! The clasps seem sturdy and well designed, they don't stick out much, and they are rounded at the corners so as not to snag on conveyor belts or anything else should the case ever go through checked baggage while flying with it. The interior foam cutout the is symmetrically cut, and so this case will work well with any right or left handed Strat or Tele. The cutout is made to fit any double cutaway stratocaster, left or right handed, but my lefty telecaster fits just as snug as any strat would. No movement at all when the lid is closed. I'm very pleased with this case!

Now to review my sales engineer..
I wanted a durable case with TSA locks for my lefty Fender Telecaster, and still had some questions after looking at various cases online, so I called my sales engineer, Tony Greer. He explained to me that Sweetwater has a thing called certified fit where a Sweetwater tech physically puts a particular model guitar into the case and personally confirms that it is a good fit. Tony then did a data search for every case that would work with my lefty guitar and while we were still on the phone, sent me an email with links to every certified fit case, had me open the email and gave me a quick rundown of each case, then answered any remaining questions I had.


It is pleasantly refreshing in this day and age to find a sales rep with customer service skills as on-point as Tony's are. The guy bent over backwards for me without hesitation, and did it happily. Thanks again for the great customer service, Tony!

Great case

love my Strat, she's been through a few cases. time to give this one a try. great latches, great feel. the compartment orientation kinda sucks, I like the idea of separate ones on either side of the neck, but still its great and stores a lot.

I ordered this for a Tele, which didn't come with any type of case. The intended use was to store away the Tele, vertically, in a environmentally controlled closet, if kids or rambunctious guests come over, or to take the tele to in-person lessons. For those purposes, it works perfectly. If I were flying somewhere, I'd probably spring for an SKB.

Well built and good attention to details, it fits my Tele snugly and the latches are very good. But the real kicker is how surprisingly light and balanced the case feels. its worth every penny.

This is a solid handsome case. The TSA approved locks work with ease. The case is fairly heavy so don't expect light weight. It should offer good protection.

I bought this case for my Jimi Hendrix Stratocaster. Even though the guitar came with a fairly good gig bag, I wanted some extra protection. This case is excellent. The molded fitting for a Stratocaster, either left or right-handed, guarantees that there will be little to no movement in the case. It also comfortably holds a Telecaster with no movement (I tried out the case with my Telecaster, just to see). The guitar is centered in the case and is well padded, helping to reduce worries of impact damage to the headstock or body on any side of the case. The TSA locks are also fairly substantial, and look like they will last. There is also a good sized storage compartment in the case, easily capable of holding a good amount of gear (guitar strap, capo, tremolo arm, adjustment tools, wipedown towel, etc) and/or documentation, if your guitar is a collectable/special/artist edition. Last, but not least, the handle is thick, yet comfortable, and doesn't slide around in your hand.

I would definitely recommend getting one of these molded cases if you have a higher priced Strat or Tele, or a Strat or Tele that you really value.

I have one of these cases that I purchased from Sweetwater around 2017 when it was still relatively "new" to Fender. I also just acquired another brand new one after searching around elsewhere since they seem to be backordered just about everywhere. At first glance the case I just purchased looks just like the previous one. However, I quickly noticed that the new case is lighter and then discovered the outer shell is far, far thinner and more pliable than the previous. Just by barely pushing on the plastic it flexes and breaks the glue loose from the foam lining that is fixed to the inside and puts undue pressure on anything contained within. To say I was disappointed was an understatement -- especially for the price. Additionally, the new case doesn't fit any of my teles or strats snugly. The guitar bodies are able to slide side to side and top to bottom. My previous case fits my teles perfectly and strats with just a slight wiggle. It's as if they've enlarged the fit. *shrug*

If you're in a situation where this case with guitar will be handled carefully or just used for storage, then go for it without hesitation. It's genuine Fender and looks the part. But if you're at all concerned about any weight bearing down on the case or the contents sloshing around if tossed about, then I'd recommend taking a hard pass on this case in it's latest form. Here's to hoping that this lengthy industry-wide backorder maybe stems from a retooling of the production and that quality improves.

Excellent Case!

I like that this case fits a Fender stratocaster guitar, or a Fender player telecaster snugly inside with its design.

The quality of case seems pretty good, and it weighs approximately 9 lbs. The latches and hinges work well. The interior lining of the case is plush polyester material. I have noticed a similar case by other brand was less in price, but it did not have the TSA lock.

Super slick and sturdy. Fits like a glove, a real hard glove.

I wanted to note, this fits my custom tele fmt hh: even though that guitar has a thinner body. The case still hugs it.

Over all I am very pleased.

Sweet case. Overkill for me. I needed a case for a 52 Tele style that I'm building. I like the headstock pocket size for the reverse headstock I'm planning, the body fits nice and snug and it looks like the case would handle any year style. Sturdy hinges, latches, handle and shell and it locks. Oh and it looks like it stacks as well.

Very tough case with nice hardware. Lock & latches seem well made. Extremely rigid side panels, and ultra plush on the inside. Instrument sits snuggly with no movement whatsoever. This case is probably overkill for me, as I won't be traveling with it. I bought it with my MIM Telecaster shipped inside, because why not. I feel it was money well spent.

This is a better Strat/Tele case than the G&G case, IMHO. I own both. This case has better neck support and is a perfect body fit. Nice and snug. G&G is kinda flimsy. This is a beautiful and durable case for my custom Fender Telecaster.

This is the same case that came with my American Professional Stratocaster. The straps that hold the lid from opening to far broke away because they are only held on by blobs of glue. Unbelievable to me! To me this is a piece of junk that I do not trust my guitar to. I will seek out an actual quality case.

I would be proud to live in this case if I was a guitar.

Wasn't sure what I would expect, but this case is perfectly molded for the guitar, and doesn't feel cheep in any way shape or form.

Other than the character of old guitar cases, the new ones are superior in every way. The guitar fits better, is better protected, the case is lighter, stronger, has better storage and locks, and is more weather resistant. Sometimes new is better and this is one of those times. The smell is a little industrial, but hopefully that wears off over time.

I don't know what else I can tell you about Sweetwater and my rep Kyle Austin that I haven't already said so many times. Just like in every other case Kyle worked with me, helping me make the sensible choice. This case isn't the G&G cases, but it will be around when all the G&G cases are long gone and in guitar heaven. I really like the case. It's hefty, plush on the inside and does a super nice job of securing and protecting your instrument.

I got to say this case is absolutely amazing I bought one a year ago and I play at my local church and sometimes theirs days that I got to go to church when its raining and keeps my instrument nice and clean, its strong and the handle is very comfortable 5 stars for me!!

I have a 2018 fender elite tele and this case came with it. I was moving some things and my case slipped out of SUV and hit the pavement HARD. It feel about 3 feet but I was so worried since my guitar was about 2k. I took a deep breath and opened it and my guitar was in pristine condition. A lesser case? Who knows. I can only speak for this case and it's a must buy. The ABS mold is the only way to go.

After enjoying good, prior Fender case history with Strats - this latest version, in addition to the SKB-equals (which I also recently returned), have proven to be lousy fits for both my Strat & Tele. Too much slop in either, with virtually no lid contact pressure whatsoever. I have a new 2018 Player Strat and Vintera 50's Telecaster - fit is awful for both. Not sure where to go for a snug case. Selling the case as opposed to returning. That being said - my Sales Engineer Team is awesome.

This case was bought to replace a Fender ABS case that had cracked during a fall. Not complaining about the ABS case because it did its job and protected my investment inside. But I did not like the idea of the case cracking. Knowing that Polyethylene is more resistant to impacts, I went with this case instead as a replacement Upon my first take on it, there are other features that I immediately liked. With the guitar in the case, the balance is much better now when lifting with the handle. When the case is setting on its side with the feet down, the feet distribute load up the top and bottom panels of the case (which is where my old one failed). There is more storage for things like strings and straps. There are interlocking core / cavity features built into the inner padding that would prevent / minimize lid to base shifting. There are cloth covers over the inside hinge areas. The latches are different from my old case but have the same solid feel and function. This case works well for me.

Doing business with Sweetwater is easy. They provided shipping updates, followed up on the sales order, and wasted no time in getting the case to me. Sweetwater is truly customer oriented.

Really well made case. Sturdy. Latches are awesome. The interior is amazing. The only issue I'd point out is the smell. I had to let the case air out for a few days. Strong chemical smell from the interior when I first opened it up.

I bought a Fender molded case from Sweetwater. This is the second case I bought for a second guitar. This was the best case that would do what I needed. My experience with Sweetwater has always been great. I get great advice form my sales engineer, Rob Kramer. I would highly recommend the Fender molded cases and the Sweetwater experience.

I absolutely love the quality of this case. The lightweight design and plush interior make this case the perfect companion for my Telecaster. It provides excellent protection for my guitar, more so than any other case I have seen.

Perfect Fit, Smooth and Tight Hard Shell Case For Maximum Protection.

I scored 3.5 stars as a split between it's okay" at 3 stars and "I like it," rating at 4 BECAUSE, it IS okay, BUT I'm not crazy about it primarily because the interior is styrafoam covered with, 'not - so - plush' fake fur of some type that is really not as friendly to the touch as it looks.

I did not expect real fur of course. but I definitely expected something fuzzy like a well kept indoor cat or something, or slipping my axe into a BMW for example. The lining is pretty cheap. I'm disappointed and I do not feel the price tag is completely justifiable.

The exterior appears pretty rugged. I am not about to toss it down a flight of stairs or slam it down and throw something heavy on top of it as I am not completely certain it could withstand the punishment. It MIGHT be really strong. But I couldn't say for sure. Would I buy it again? Not at the price I paid. Would I recommend it to a friend? If they had broken something of mine or mishandled some gear but we were still 'friends', yeah. Otherwise, no. Not at the price I paid which was like 129 before tax. Not as happy with this purchase as I have been with other items I've purchased here at Sweetwater. Ya' win some ya' lose some, right?

It's not so terrible I'd go through the hassle associated with returns; I don't expect to board any planes anytime soon with it and it COULD serve as a good 'dummy' case for a cheaper guitar in the event of a successful well-planned 'train robbery' by thieves or something.

I ordered this case to go with my Sandblasted Strat. The case is just as good as the guitar. It seems very similar to my Gator case I use for another guitar, so I don't know if they contracted with Gator to have the case made or not. Either way, I feel pretty confident that it'll hold up for many years of use.

Last year when I got my Classic Player JazzMaster I wanted more protection than the supplied gig bag, so I ordered this case for the JM and was completely satisfied with my purchase. Great latches, plenty of cushion and fur, a huge storage cubby for supplies and all wrapped in a ballistic plastic shell. you won't be dissapointed. Now I am doing an American Special Stratocaster build and wanted a case worthy of what will be a very special Stratocaster when it is completed. As always, Matt Fuller, who has been my sales rep for quite some time now, gets all my gear out to fedex right away and keeps me informed if there are any backorders.

I'm not like (WOW! Blown away), it's a case, which is why I didn't rate it 5.0 Star, but it is an excellent case for my Black Top Telecaster. The inside storage compartment is roomy. I don't have the case in front of me to measure but it's roomy. I feel like this case will protect my Tele better than the conventional Fender wooden/vinyl case.

This case is exactly the type of protection my Telecaster needed. The fit is perfect. Bumps and jars cannot affect the guitar, which is safely nestled in the form fitting case. With plenty of cargo room in the storage compartment, I can safely transport my guitar, strap, capo, wireless in-ear monitor pack and headphones with plenty of room to spare, which eliminates the need for carrying more bags or boxes. The latches are heavy duty and I feel confident that my valuable instrument is secure.

I own a mim fender Stratocaster with a flamed maple top. I only bring this up because I have upgraded everything on the guitar. I needed to upgrade the case. I looked at other companies, so I decided to buy this case. I have an old case which is plywood with a vinyl covering. I wanted something that would protect my guitar, and beautiful finish. This case will do the job. This case has extra storage to keep the tools, that I need. The case is... more than a regular case, but I put a lot money into this guitar, so it needed extra protection. I never give 5 stars.

You have a special Axe to protect, like your Fender Stratocaster or Strat style body style guitar this is the case to have it"s an amazingly good looking and extremely durable case.

I bought this for my new fender deluxe strat. My original case was a soft shell that came with the guitar but it offered no real protection.

Pro's - it's a good hard shell case, large covered locks on the outside and has a key lock, which is nice. The inside is nicely laid out and my Stratocaster fit's snug inside.

Con's - It's overpriced for what it is. It's a thin hard shell case. The fabric inside the case has a strong smell to it and when I received it I left the case open for a day to let it air out.


Overall, this is a good case, offers decent protection for my guitar.

When my new Fender American Professional showed up with this case I was really impressed with it.. great fit, nice compartment, looks great and the latches and hinges are amazingly beefy and the handle feels like it belongs on a Pelican case. Sweet guitar, feels just right

Got this case for my Fender Stratocaster. Fits snuggly inside and plush, firm padded interior. Room in the center storage compartment for my necessary accessories. This case looks great, build quality is solid, and it's fairly light. Hinges and latches are sturdy and give you confidence.

Was in Sweetwater to look for a basic hard case to keep my Tele in primarily storing at home.
Ended up buying this case, very glad I did.

This is the best guitar case I've ever owned. It's super lightweight and very protective for the guitar. The plastic latches are large and easy to quickly pop open, but also feel very secure when closed. I prefer this over a normal heavy case or gig bag any day.

This case is very nice looking on the outside and better looking on the inside! It has a fair amount of storage under the neck ramp. The interior is quite plush and fits my strat like a glove!! The locks are a plus and work very well. All around very satisfied with this case, Also not a bad price considering some others.

The new FENDER Deluxe Molded Case fits my Telecaster perfectly. This case is much better than the previous models, which were too heavy to carry around. I like it better than the SKB FS-6s because it does not have any metal edges that could damage your guitar when placing it in the case. The nice thing about this FENDER Deluxe Molded Case is the fact that it can be placed on its side without tipping over easily. The inside is really plush, and the case is balanced well when holding the handle. You will like this guitar case.

I was excited my brand-new Fender American Elite Telecaster came packed inside this case when shipped from Sweetwater. From the outside, this would appear to be identical to the heavier SKB Waterproof Flight Case for Strats and Teles, save for the Fender logo, slightly smaller size and lack of wheels. But this clearly is not a flight case, even with ATA approved locks, even though it appears identical to the aforementioned case. Opening the case, the new butterscotch blonde Tele Elite was the best part of what was inside.

The case's interior looks cheaply made and is surprisingly shallow. The shallowness may not be a problem if all you wanted to do is store your instrument. The plastic mold doesn't appear strong enough to do much more than hold the guitar. The pickcase is quite shallow and will hold picks and a capo, but little more. There is not enough room, for example, for most digital heatstock tuners, and certainly no room for a guitar strap or a cable in either the pickcase, let alone the small cavity for the headstock. The flap that serves to close off the pickcase is thin and flimsy, barely covering the cavity. It seems ready to tear away from the molded interior.

Having replaced the strap pins with Schaller Security Strap Locks, the metal attachments at either end of the guitar strap look large enough and strong enough to punch through the interior molding. So where in the case can one keep a strap?

One expects a guitar case, first and foremost, to protect the instrument within. This case appears to be capable of fulfilling this basic function. But it also is not unreasonable to hope for a space which can be closed off in which to store the usual guitarist paraphernalia, such as picks, a capo, another set of strings, and for the contemporary player, a clip-on digital tuner. That would be difficult with this case. There is no hope of packing in a strap and/or cable, especially if one is concerned about the cable's rubber shielding, or strap's polypropylene or leather backing reacting with the instrument's finish. Unfortunately, I'll be looking to buy a different case, perhaps a traditional wood case with tolex material covering the exterior and a plush interior (like the Fender Tweed), or a Hiscox EF case?

I like this case much better than the G&L Deluxe vintage style cases my Stratocasters came with. It"s a perfect fit and holds the guitar very securely. No movement when closed. It"s stackable so if you have multiple guitars like I do, they stack nicely. It also stands on its long edge nicely like a briefcase. The handle is beefy and wrapped in a rubberized grip that is very comfortable and is positioned at the balance point when the case is loaded. There are 3 sturdy locking latches that are easy to operate and stay closed securely. When opened past a certain point the latches stay up and out of the way so you can open and close the lid easily. The hinges are sturdy and smooth. I like the large yet shallow storage compartment inside which is big enough to hold all my accessories like strings, winder, picks, tuner etc. I also like that there"s enough room for my vintage style cloth strap to stay attached to the guitar while inside the case. If you have a bulkier leather strap it may have to be removed. I like this case so much I bought one for every Fender I own and now the vintage style cases stay in the closet. This is the perfect gigging case. If I buy any more Fenders, this will be the case I choose.

The new FENDER Deluxe Molded Case is a very good product. It is beautifully made. This case is a big improvement over the SKB and standard FENDER guitar cases. It looks great inside and out. It is easy to transport and can sit on its side and still be stable. Get yours today. I'm a happy customer. You should be too.

This is a case; however, it is a really nice case! Custom fit, plush, airport secure, lightweight and beats any particle board hard shell case I have ever owned.

Moving a number of guitars can be a problem if you don't have roadies or special road cases. The Fender Deluxe Molded Strat/Tele case solves the problem for the rest of us. The case is made of strong molded material with an offset handle to carry the loaded case at its center of gravity. The TSA lock keeps airport security from breaking open locked cases. The interior plush protects the guitar and has a large storage compartment and head space for accessories. Multiple cases stack with tabs to keep the stack together. The case is a perfect fit for Fender Stratocasters and Telecasters.

The only disappointment was the inner compartment was much smaller than I expected. The compartment on the regular Fender case is larger. It will get the travel test as I ship it with me from Kansas to Indonesia.

This is a very nice case. The top and back seem adequately stiff, and I love having the wide, covered compartment under the neck as opposed to the cases with the sorta long but narrow open slot running parallel to the neck. I can get lots more stuff in this case and still have plenty of room for the strap. The locks are quick and easy, and the handle has just enough of a pad/grip wrapping that it's fairly comfortable to deal with. A worthy upgrade for a deserving guitar.

I'd give it a 5 star but nothing is perfect. That being said, I love this case. It cuddles my guitar like a lover. I could not be happier, except for paying a few more bucks because it has the Fender name on it, that is.

The Fender Deluxe Molded Strat/Tele Case far exceeded my expectations. The plush interior is perfect for protection of my guitar during transit. The TSA-approved lock makes this an ideal case for taking on plane trips. The case also has a nicely sized storage compartment, also with a plush lining, for the storage of your accessories such as picks, capos, slides, etc. As for what guitar this will hold; first and foremost is the Fender Stratocaster and the Fender Telecaster. These will be my "future" guitars. Right now this case is for my Squire Affinity Strat by Fender. It may hold other brands if they adhere to the Fender form-factor. My guitar is a right-hand guitar although the case appears to also be able to hold a left-handed guitar but I cannot positively confirm this. It is a rugged case that should hold up well for many years to come.

I was very pleased with my purchase.

I'm extremely picky about a lot of things. I looked at just about every case I could find, and I always managed to find one or two things about each one that kept me from buying it. Then I found this. Extremely rugged without being bulky and goofy. Lining is soft and the mold itself is perfectly shaped. My Stratocaster fits perfectly. It has one decent sized compartment that I keep my cord, strap, trem arm and some picks in. The latches feel really durable and close with a satisfying click, its like an airlock when you close it. I ordered another one for my Telecaster. If Fender keeps producing this case, every new guitar I buy is going in one of these. I love it. You will too.

Last year I moved up from a Squire Affinity Telecaster to a Fender Standard Telecaster, so this year I wanted to upgrade my case. I wasn't in a big hurry because my Gator Economy case wasn't awful, but when I saw this case pop up on Sweetwater's website, I jumped. If I'm not mistaken, this is the case Fender provides when you buy one of the big boys. Great form fitting plush gray interior. I trust the sturdiness of this case and the TSA locks. My Telecaster is as happy as I am.
