Best guitar I’ve ever played!
The balance of the tones is unmatched. It has the nice lows that the J45's typically have, but it doesn't sound muddy. The highs are very crisp without sounding tinny or sharp. Electronics sound amazing when plugged in as well. 10/10 recommend this guitar
At Sweetwater, obviously, disappointment is not an option
I had a slight problem with my first Songwriter. The high E string just didn't ring true when amplified. Obviously some issue with the pickup. Sweetwater swapped it out, and this one is perfect. Even though I had that problem, the service was so unbelievable, and the guitar is so incredible in both sound and playability, that I couldn't see myself rating the overall experience less than five stars. I would not even consider buying from anyone else. Thanks for the effort you always make to satisfy your customers.
Exceeded my expectations
So, just wow. A Martin fan that just happened to fall in love with a Songwriter. Gibson dialed this one up just the way it needs to be. I am not kidding. This guitar simply rocks (period). Hunter, the sales dude was the best.....never have I had such a cool dude. Seriously.....are you kidding me.....its like this kid graduated from "I luv guitars" at Central Missouri State University. We could have talked for hours about guitars. Hey Sweetwater....., hang on to Hunter!
Really really nice guitar
More than you expect. This thing plays and sounds like a million bucks... Kenny Plisco is fantastic, got this out to me and it was in my hands the day after it shipped.
Balanced and vocal
I bought this already owning an AJ for 14 years, and OHB and LG2 just this summer. Thought I had my Gibbys all sewed up. Then this doll popped up. The finish and trim caught my eye, and like the 50's LG2, the price seemed too good to pass up. My AJ costs about twice what it was in 08. I wanted to "insure" my ability to own one. (Oh, the excuses we make.) But it fills a nich. With the spruce, it's a loud and fuller sound than the HB and AJ. I sing loud, so I like that. And again, it's great eye candy.

I've played so many great guitars but hands down this is definitely one of my favorites and it's extremely beautiful!

Gibson Songwriter
What a great guitar. I've been playing the same guitar for 30 years, needed a new one. Its a work of art. The sound is incredible. I don't order much off the web but after a lot of searching I settled on this guitar. Couldn't find it in any stores. I didn't know about Sweetwater or any of the others so settled on the first dealer that popped up. I ordered it in April. they told me it would arrive late July. Between that time I researched and learned a lot about who I should have ordered from. Early July I called the dealer I had used just to check in they said it would be late August. Mid July I called again. They said it would be November. Enough was enough so I canceled the order. I didn't mind waiting but honesty is very important to me. I called Sweetwater that same day and talked to Stuart Niven. He was very helpful and explained Gibson was backlogged for this guitar but I would be 3rd in line and that 2 were due in in August but there was always a chance someone may cancel. Well late August Stuart called me and they had my guitar. Cant say enough good things about Sweetwater and Stuart Niven. You just don't get this level of service, help, honesty and knowledge of the product they are selling anymore. Most will tell you anything to get a sale. Sweetwater will be getting recommendations from me and orders in the future. Thanks to Stuart and Sweetwater.

It is ridiculously great!
Pictures just do not capture the beauty of this guitar. When I opened the case, I swear there was an aura surrounding this beauty. I was almost afraid of touching it! So after mustering up the courage to take it for a test drive..... Holy Smokes!, this guitar is on another level! It feels so solid compared to my other dreadnaught acoustics. Its like an Acoustic Les Paul Custom. The neck is great, plays like a dream and the pickup really does sound much better than those active p/u's I've played on other guitars. All in all, I couldn't be more happy with this instrument..... Truly an awesome spectacle
I highly recommend this guitar!
It sure is one of the most beautiful guitars out there ! I've had it for a few weeks now and enjoy playing it so much I don't want to put it down. The longer neck isn't an issue to me as it's only a mere 3/4 of an inch longer than a Gibson guitar J-45 neck. The Gibson acoustic songwriter standard Rosewood guitar I have has its own beautiful sound and it has BOOM ! At home sometimes I play it without the amplifier, yet I have the PA system on for my voice. When it is plugged in and powered on the electronics make the sound loud and clear. I highly recommend this guitar .
Great tone
It seems like the more I play this guitar, the better it sounds, if that is even possible.
It is kind of hard to put into words but the guitar just has a depth to the tone that I just haven't experienced with other guitars. Oh, and it is gorgeous to look at as well. I love the binding on fretboard, it just makes it super smooth going up and down the fingerboard. The longer scale admittedly is a little more difficult to play but the sound you get makes it worth the effort. I love it. It may be my most favorite guitar ever. Realistically speaking, I don't need another acoustic as long as I have this one to enjoy.

I love this guitar. It plays and sounds like a dream. The fit and finish is immaculate. Feels great in your hands. The electronics sound honest to the guitar. This guitar has exceeded all my expectations and I look forward to playing it for the rest of my life since I"m definitely not letting this one go.
Very Amazing guitar
I bought mine from Sweetwater and it arrived in no time and a full list of detailed inspections performed before it left Sweetwater.
The action and sound was completely amazing. I bought this guitar for my wife. She has a Taylor guitar but this one is in a class above and worth its weight in gold!
