Gibson Acoustic Doves In Flight Acoustic Guitar - Antique Natural Reviews
With the Gibson Doves In Flight Acoustic Guitar, an already majestic "bird" takes flight once again. Modeled squarely after the legendary Hummingbird/Dove introduced in the early '60s, the Doves In Flight guitar combines familiar classic tone and feel with the addition of jaw-dropping art and design appointments. The Doves In Flight features the iconic flame maple back and sides with Sitka spruce top — a renowned tonewood pairing that delivers a desirable sonic blend of treble and midrange blossom. A stunning 3-piece maple neck with gorgeous ebony fingerboard offers incredibly smooth playability and feel, making this crown jewel ideal for fingerpicking as well as flatpicking styles. Aside from its full-feathered feature set, the many acoustic players here at Sweetwater will tell you: there is also something intangible about the Gibson Doves In Flight that makes it soar like no other acoustic guitar!

Simple the best acoustic guitar!!!
I've played music for 55 yrs. In that time I've played every brand of acoustic, electric, hollow, semi hollow body you name it. Martins have been the standard to measure acoustic guitars. I have always thought Gibson's were as good a sound but that's personal preference. The Gibson Doves in flight is second to no other acoustic guitar. That includes Martins, Taylor's etc. The master artisans at Gibson have not only created art work but the sound that goes with it. Unbelievable craftsmanship, detail and a delight to play. Mine too came wo need of a fret dress for high spots on frets. The sound sustains and is crisp but mellow as all Gibsons have. I own it, and 14 other top of the line Gibson, Fender guitars and custom made mandolin. The detail and labor hours it takes to make this instrument warrants the cost. No regrets. Get one while you can, if you can.
Perhaps My Favorite Acoustic
I typically find Gibson acoustics more difficult to play than most other brands: Guild, Martin, Breedlove.
All other Gibson models that I play (SJ200, J45, Hummingbird) required considerable setup changes for me to form
some chords. The action was always set way too high straight from Gibson. But my Dove came ready for me to play.
And I absolutely love the narrow neck. Perhaps that's because I prefer Fender electrics. The craftsmanship of the
Doves in Flight is world class. This instrument is a genuine piece of art and worth every penny. This Dove should
become a family heirloom. Wouldn't part with it for anything. The sound is fantastic. Every Gibson acoustic I own
has its own unique sound. Mellow, perfect. The wood and construction could not be better. Try one!
