Ernie Ball Music Man StingRay Special 5 Bass Guitar - Black with Maple Fingerboard Reviews
Born in the 1970s, the Ernie Ball Music Man StingRay has become the go-to bass for countless rock musos, punk rockers, and indie bands, among many others. Stainless steel frets promise long-term durability, even under the fingers of the most aggressive player. The pickups have been redesigned for more punch and sonic range, and the updated 18-volt preamp system delivers impressive headroom for a wide dynamic range. Plus, to help get you through long sessions with extra comfort, the body has been redesigned — lighter-weight tuning machines and hardware contribute about a pound of weight relief. Pick up an Ernie Ball Music Man StingRay Special 5 from Sweetwater, and feel (and hear) for yourself what all the hype is about.

Impressive!!!
Super impressed!!
The neck feel, the EQ, the growl, the hard rock looks...it's all there!!!
The fit n finish, light weight and tuning stability are excellent!
I've owned some really nice basses...Sadowsky Jazz, Warwick Thumb N/T, Nash Ps and Js, Fender Custom Shop, Ultra and Deluxe Ps and Js, but I gotta say, to my ears and hands, this Stingray 5 is the one for me. I have finally found the one bass that I am truly bonding with. Everyone knows Stingrays kinda got their own thing going on regarding their signature tone, but that one thig is really, really good. FWIW, I play through an Orange AD200 and Bergantino HF410 with an EBS Compressor pedal. I highly recommend this bass. Great job Ernie Ball!
Ernie Ball Stingray 5 Special H
Love the light weight and the feel of the Stingray 5. The tone is not as sharp and punchy as a regular ray but more focused with a really good low B defination. It is a differnt sound than the old Ray with the ceramic pickups. Lots of versatiliy andback saving wieght. Really nice, not crazy about the plastic tuners but I guess they save weight. All in all a very nice bass !!
