Mackie Rocks
I'm generally a Bose fanatic but these caught my eye as I am a drummer and have an old mackie thump that still works excellent so I thought I would give these a try for my new venture as a DJ/KJ. Out of the box hook up with mackie connect app is impressive! These speakers are LOUD with no distortion. The bass is acceptable for my taste but may invest in the 18" sub mackie offers. So far I absolutely love these speakers!! Have already annoyed the neighbors at 50 percent these speakers rock are lightweight and built like a tank! I still can't get over how loud and clear they run!!!! Thank you Mackie for another great speaker!!!! Mixer coming soon!
Pretty good overall
I will say, if you're looking at this speaker it is tremendous value and super versatile with the Bluetooth streaming, 3.5mm aux jack, mic in etc. That said, it absolutely needs a sub to sound what I would consider extremely well. Below about 115hz this speaker really struggles, but combined with a sub it sounds truly phenomenal. I paired it with jrx218 and with qsc dual 18 cabinets and it'll keep up with both for pretty much any genre. It does get LOUD, so I'm hyped about that, you'll need a lot of sub to keep up. These are made from super durable plastic, and are very hard to beat up. I do wish the amplifier had some kind of removable cover to protect the knobs though.
