Fantastic Headphones - With a Short Life!
I received the first set of SR990s 10 months ago. Those babies performed extremely well in every respect. I loved them! But in about 5 months the right channel started to fade, and then it was gone in a few days. I was disappointed but I thought there's bound to be a bad set every once in a while, and had Samson replace them. Now, roughly 5 more months down the road, the right channel on the second pair just died in the middle of using them. I don't know how many of the SR990s out there are failing, but the odds of MY getting 2 bad sets in a row with the right channel going out are pretty steep.
Now, bear in mind that I don't beat the daylights out of my stuff, so both sets never had much wattage driven through them at any time. I'm sure that Samson will want to send a third pair, but I don't have the time or inclination to play this return game more than twice. I'll get a refund and spend it and more with another manufacturer.
Oh, Sweetwater is still outstanding!
