Seymour Duncan SPB-1 Vintage P-Bass Split-coil Pickup - Black

Seymour Duncan SPB-1 Vintage P-Bass Split-coil Pickup - Black Reviews
Are you on a quest for the definitive bass tone? Then drop a Seymour Duncan SPB-1 into your axe and prepare for something iconic. This vintage-style split-coil pickup drenches your bass lines in the perfect balance of authoritative thump and clear articulation. Hand-ground Alnico V magnets and vintage coil winding deliver bold, smooth tones by the truckload. And the responsiveness is astounding — it's everything you'd expect from a late-1950s Precision Bass. It looks the part too. If you want to capture the legendary tone that's in your head, you need the Vintage P-Bass SPB-1 pickup.
Major Upgrade
This replaced the factory pickup in a Squire Classic Vibe 60's p bass and there is no comparison. The stock pickup had way too much fret and nail noise that I couldn't EQ out without it sounding muffled. The SD pickup fixed that, warm without being muddy and still responsive and defined. This is probably the most effective upgrade I've ever done on any of my instruments or amps, whether bass or guitar.
Really good.
So I did not buy this pickup from sweetwater because they did not have it in stock at the time. Much better than even a fender custom shop pickup. Good lows, mids and highs. Been playing punk, rock, Radiohead stuff and blues for 30 years. This pickup won't leave you wanting.
Everything I was looking for !
To make a long story short, I decided to give my 2010 Squier affinity precision bass some much needed TLC, as it's my only precision bass at the moment. At first, I had the SPB-2, but I found to be way too muddy for my liking. I also didn't want to try the SPB-3, as I was looking for something more vintage sounding. This has the right amount of low end without sounding too dark, not to mention its super quiet as well. Highly recommend it!
The Seymour Duncan’s Split Coil pickups are great
Love the sound. Upgraded an inexpensive bass. I was surprised to get the sound I was expecting. Now I play this bass every Sunday with the worship band.
