Schecter SLS Elite-4 Bass Guitar - Antique Fade Burst Reviews

4-string Electric Bass with Maple Top, Swamp Ash Body, Maple/Walnut/Padauk Neck, Ebony Fingerboard, and 2 Active Soapbar Pickups - Antique Fade Burst

The Schecter SLS Elite-4's liquid sculpture neck-through design offers the ultimate in looks, comfort, and tone. A richly figured flame maple veneer gracefully adorns an ivory-bound swamp ash body that's precision carved to hug the player's body and maximize neck access. Even into the 20th fret and beyond, the SLS Elite-4's endless 3-piece neck and violin sustain show no signs of stopping. A pair of direct-mounted Fishman Fluence active soapbar pickups with 3-way voicing switch, push-pull coil splitting, and 2-band active EQ equip this bass for classic funk and soul as well as modern forms of rock and metal. And with stock features that include a permanently lubricated TUSQ XL nut, a set of studio-stable Grover tuners, and a dual-action truss rod with easy-access neck heel wheel, the Schecter SLS Elite-4 bass from Sweetwater leaves little reason to upgrade post-purchase.

It's Great!

By Clinton Schultz from LAFAYETTE, IN on December 11, 2023 Music Background: I just play for fun. 4-5 years

I have owned the Schecter Silver Mountain 4 in Toxic Venom for over 4 years now and this the next generation essentially. It is so incredibly versatile. It has bass/treble preamp with a push pull on the volume knob to switch between double humbucker and double single coil. It has a thin C neck that is very easy to play with jumbo stainless steel frets. I encourage everyone to try this bass out, it's very nice. Thank you to Chris Hoffman and Andrew Keech for helping me get this!

Jack

By Jack from Lavonia, ga on March 25, 2021 Music Background: Guitars all my life

Spent months looking and reading about which bass i wood b happy with for this price range...kept coming back to this over and over...by far when i unboxed this well packaged bass - it was every bit as kewl looking as the pic when i ordered it !!! But more importantly than that it plays like a champ !!! I did have it set up and pleked and think was slightly pricey but after looking it over with a fine tooth comb and playing every note and checking out the innotation - i cant find 1 single thing to grumble about !!! Also with all the different switch settings between the bass and rumble amp i get a wide variety of sounds ... love it !!! You can easily tell that fine craftsmanship went into this bass for sure...and nice to look at and catches eyes...matter of fact-when dun playing and watching a good movie at nite with me and mrs in our luv seat - i make her sit on the floor and my schector sits rite next to me...need a change up once in a while - rite ??? Bottom line - no need to hesitate if ur looking for the most in this price range... Matt Christopherson...once again you have my vote for "sweetwater employee of month", for patience in answering my 983 questions everytime i go to buy something and your words of wisdom and recommendations...

Outstanding Bass

By Sweetwater Customer from California on June 3, 2019 Music Background: Semi-Professional Gigging Musician

I spent hours testing lots of different basses, including a lot of basses at significantly higher prices, before settling on this one. I firmly believe you can spend $1,000 more and still be hard pressed to match the versatility and feel of this bass. The fit and finish are outstanding--from the moment you pick up the instrument you can tell it was made with care and attention. The weight is nice--not too light, but not too heavy. It's comfortable to play standing for long periods.

This is a very versatile instrument, and the coil tapping, active EQ, and toggle switch allow for a huge variety of tonal options. I've been using it for rock, pop, blues, americana/folk, and funk. About the only style I haven't tried it with is metal or jazz, though I know it can handle either of these very well if needed. The Fishman Fluence pickups are fantastic and give a very clean and punchy tone.

If you like a a thinner neck, you're going to love the feel of this bass. It feels super comfortable, and the smooth feel of the neck is also very comfortable. I think this bass compares very favorably in every way with any instrument in its price range, and many in higher price ranges.
