Silence is golden

By Malcolm hill from Reno on March 11, 2024 Music Background: 40 years of playing ony the last 3 seriously

I have purchased ~a steel string 200S and the clasical 200N versions of this instrument. Both of them play beutifully, the shape of the neck, intonation and stability of the neck are amazing. I carry it from coast to coast and it is within tune. The sound is phenominal, this a guitar that can go from practice to stadium with no problem. Craftsmanship is similar to the japanese built axes from the 70's. Light weight, great sound, silent practice into headphone lets you play anywhere.

My life is now whole.

Highly recommended! I purchased the steel string model in Tobacco Burst and was so impressed that I bought this nylon string version in Crimson Burst as my first nylon string classical guitar! Great guitar and the effects are an added bonus! Plays great!!

Actually a really nice Classical Guitar

By Joshua Hall from Brownsville, VT on September 17, 2022

I primarily gig on my classical guitar. I use an audio technica clip on mic on the soundhole, plug into my bose and play anywhere......

The Yamaha Silent Nylon guitar allows me to play at volumes I have never been able to achieve with a microphone system and I can stand or sit in FRONT of the AMP without FEEDBACK! It has a nice built in tuner, effects (chorus/reverb/mic simulator....), a simple EQ, and accepts Aux and headphones. It basically sounds the same (or better) as my mic'd classical.....wow......

The neck feels very similar to my Alan Harold Chapman, so transitioning was a breeze except that I can't use my Sageworks A-Frame Guitar Supports with it. However, with a little strap adjustment it feels very natural and I can stand when I want to.....as a Jazz Band director - this helps......

I love the way it comes apart, how light weight it is, and the little case that comes with it. Put it and the bose in the Fiat 500pop and away we go......

The fact that it is silent - or basically silent - means that I can be practicing in the Living Room and no one's netflix is interrupted......

It's a huge win and one that I wish I had purchased years ago......

If you're a classical guitarist and want an electric version, this is it.

Finally a comfortable playing classical...and then some!

By Bob Perrone from Allentown, PA on May 6, 2021 Music Background: 60 years playing guitar, all styles, now a fingerstyle composer./performer

I've been performing for 60 years and a couple of my heroes when I was just starting out learning the guitar were Andre Segovia and Julian Bream. A classical guitar has a unique voice and poses a welcome challenge to young players as well as seasoned veterans.
Technique is paramount to learn before you can truly be expressive. My problem was hands that are in the smaller size range. A classical neck is quite wide which, for me, always frustrated m from continuing classical studies.
Being a steel string acoustic player all these years there was always that nagging little voice telling me to dive back into the classical guitar world. Inevitably I would but would find myself frustrated all over again, selling the instrument but again finding myself investing again in another classical guitar, only to give up yet again.
I tried some of the newer "thin body/plays like an electric" models but the tone was always wanting. Just not right.
Enter this gem from Yahmaha.

Impeccable build quality with an electronics/sound system that is unbelievably good and the ease of being able to travel with it to the office. Then relaxing during lunch without being heard by staff who would come in my office and interrupt to listen are high points.
Again, I can't stress how well made this instrument is and way beyond comfy to play. I finally have the ability to explore classical playing after all these years - I'm born again! LOL

4 1/2 stars instead of 5 for only one reason - they could have made the gig bag 1/2 to 1" wider in height.
As I said the build quality is exceptional and the design is very well executed. What is the only worry is how "snug" the collapsed instrument is in the the gig bag once the upper bout is removed and stored in the bag with the rest of the guitar. It is very tight and I am afraid of damage to the bridge with the upper bout stored in it's own compartment just above the guitar. As I said - it is a very tight fit.
Not a deal breaker by any means, just a small gig bag design flaw in my opinion, so be careful when putting this beauty away in it's bag.
I got the red burst and it is stunning.
This is also great for playing live for obvious reasons - no chance of feedback and the SRT system is amazing. You can also play standing up!
If you aren't into nylon - then grab the steel string model - it is just as good. I couldn't afford both so I grabbed the nylon so I could chase my classical technique. Absolutely a keeper!
