Solidbody Baritone Electric Guitar with Nyatoh Body, Maple Neck, Laurel Fingerboard, and 2 Humbucking Pickups - Satin Black

Jackson raises the stakes with the X Series Soloist SLA6 DX Baritone electric guitar, offering an enticingly affordable mid- to low-range option for heavier-handed guitarists. This Jackson baritone features an incredible white-binded nyatoh body, affording its wielder powerful punch, growl, and enviable sustain, in addition to making for the perfect building block for a heavier baritone. Sweetwater metalheads love that the maple neck includes graphite reinforcement, so there’s absolutely no reason to hold back when the moment calls! Follow its 24 jumbo frets up the speedy-playing laurel fingerboard and enjoy the effortless midrange roar of its EMG 81 and 85 pickups. Black hardware complements this axe throughout, from the HT6 bridge to the master volume and tone controls, all the way down to the iconic tilted matching headstock. It all adds up to the perfect combo of an aggressive-playing Jackson with the tonal freedom of a premium baritone!

I Bought this before christmas.Great playability and sustain.easy fretboard for soloing.Highley reccomend. Cheaper then a esp Ltd copy and better in my experience.

Badass guitar. For a baritone guitar though, I thought it would be setup to handle thicker string gauges.

This guitar comes stock with a 52g for the low 6th string and comes out of the box in B-standard tuning. I didn't think about this information much before I purchased it. I was hoping for a 6-string guitar that I could down-tune to G# standard. I also use 7-String guitars that have a 26.5'' that work and intonate in G# no problem & so I figured this Jackson would have no issues in that range as it is a 26.5'' baritone. However, as I was setting the SLA6 up I noticed the string notches on the nut and bridge saddles were rather small. After equipping a 64-14 string set it had massive intonation issues and really high action. I brought it to a local guitar tech to have the relief adjusted and the nut filed down a bit, but it still has intonation issues as the thick strings do not seat fully in the saddles. This guitar will work best for someone using 56 or thinner. If you're going thicker or lower tuned, maybe check out the ESP MH1000 6-String baritone that comes with a 62g stock. Other than that, the fit and finish is nice. Would have preferred locking tuners, but I don't think any Jackson X series comes with them.
