I have a lot of $ in Thunderbolt interfaces and thy don't work. I got a 32SK 32 and it work fine, use it with MOTU DP, and Studio One and they work just fine. Star

My favorite StudioLive

By James V. on September 8, 2021

I've owned an original StudioLive 24 Classic and then a few years later had the 24AI. And finally now the StudioLive 32SX. And all I can say is WOW, this is a huge step up for Presonus compared to anything they have done before. The preamps sound great and I love the fact that all of your preamp settings are recalled. The new effects especially the vintage eqs and compressor models are truly better than anything in the price range. And lastly the ipad/iphone amp is way better than any others I've used. Very intuitive and easy to navigate. I love the fact they jammed 32 mic preamps on this frame size which was the same size and my old 24 AI that only had 24 preamps. Great job Presonus and thanks Sweetwater for all of your help on getting me into the right console.

Perfect size and features for me

By John from Dyer on January 3, 2021 Music Background: Production Company / Recording Studio

I needed a 32 channel board that would work for both live gigs as well as an interface. I feel like this is the perfect solution especially because you can use it as a control surface for ProTools or Studio One. I'm actually transitioning now to Studio One and find it to be really easy to switch over to. We have done several live gigs where we multitracked the audio and had multiple cameras to record video. The end result was really stunning. Great product!

Perfect size

By TJ Berk from Cleveland, OH on October 22, 2019 Music Background: FOH Engineer

I run sound for a local cover band. A lot of times I have to set up on the side of the stage so I wanted something with wireless ipad control.

I was shocked at how full featured this mixer is for it's size. We have 8 musicians on stage all using wireless IEM's and having 16 auxes right on the back of the 32SX is a lifesaver.

The Fat Channel Plug Ins were also a great surprise. My favorite is the Neve EQ and the Fairchild Compressor.

Coming from a Behringer X32, I debated on going with the M32 but got to hear the StudioLive Series III back to back and felt like the mic preamps in this Presonus are easily just as good. Maybe even slightly more detailed. I was pleasantly shocked.

All in all, this might be one of the best values for the money in digital mixers. DEFINITELY RECOMMENDED!!

STELLAR! Everything I was hoping for

By Cal Abritten from White Plains, NY on September 25, 2019 Music Background: Sound Company

I was using the previous generation 24.4.2ai board and recently upgraded to the 32SX. Wow is really all I can say! It's in a completely different class both sonically and with the workflow. Just having 32 mic inputs in the same space as my previous mixer was great. But with the ability to run Fat Channel Plug ins both live and within StudioOne is a game changer. My only gripe if any with this mixer is I would have liked for it to come with an SD card. But aside from that, it's all I could have expected from this product.

Studiolive 32 SX review

The features are fantastic. Just trying to learn all the features is a bit of a task though.

A terrible interface for Studio one

By J from California on July 3, 2020 Music Background: pro

I bought this to use as an interface for Studio One, as I wanted a tactile mixing experience. This was a terrible mistake. When trying to use the 32SX as a Studio One interface, it is inconsistent and extremely frustrating. One simple example - set up mics for recording drums, set up each channel, turn on +45v where applicable, set gain setting on input trim for each channel. Do some recording, shut it down. Wake up the next day, turn it on expecting to record drums, and it doesn't work. Signal passes through the inputs, but doesn't register when recording. Why? After much frustration, I figured out that you have to turn the gain knobs all the way down, the back up. For every. single. channel. Because the interface "forgets". Yup, Presonus made this, and Studio One, then claims they work great together, but they don't. After many calls to Presonus (their tech support is awesome), one rep told me the mixer is essentially a joystick when used as an interface, and wasn't really designed for studio use. Great, glad I know this after spending thousands of dollars.
There are many other examples of frustration - like just being able to use the headphone jack on the mixer required hours of research, then waiting on hold for 45 minutes until someone could go through the multi-step process to set it up. I rue the day I bought this with the idea of using it for a Studio One interface. I'm selling it (for a huge loss, I'm sure), but thought I'd warn anyone with the same idea that you are in for an extremely frustrating experience, and zero music recorded. However, it does seem well made, and probably works fine for live sound.
