Great Amp But I Returned It.
I don't play in studios, I gig every week with my band covering from pop to classic rock and some hard rock. I was hoping to cover all those bases with one amp and this amp failed.
The clean is scooped with too much bass and too much treble. The OD voice 1 is perfect I loved it, It was like a marshall but not too bit. My real problem was the voice 2, which is just unusable, in one song you can't use the 3 channels (2 with voice) they are just too different, so I was using this amp like a single-channel amp which to me beat the purpose. You can't use the voice 2 as a solo boost, it's just high-gain, scooped, and tight. Maybe in a studio situation, you can record each part individually but not live.
I give it 4 stars because, in every individual aspect of this amp, it is amazing it sounds wonderful, just take into consideration this amp is more likely to be perfect for a hard rock + (metal) player. For example, the clean channel is like Petrucci's clean tone, most people like that but I like a honky mid-clean not scooped. The OD1 is a perfect mid-range overdrive channel. The OD2 is just metal all the way.
All the features are amazing, the amp is extremely loud at 50w and home usable at 2w.
I returned it to get the EL34 combo version and I will write a review there.
It was my fault for ordering the wrong amp, nevertheless, the customer service was amazing and they helped me to return and get the El34 combo version. This amp is so loud that I don't think I need 2 x 12s.
