Jumbo Mojo in a Smaller Package
If you crave the big sound and eye-popping visuals of a Gibson jumbo, but prefer a smaller guitar, the Gibson Acoustic J-200 Parlor is for you. The body of this gorgeous acoustic-electric rocks the classic zoftig silhouette of its larger cousin, but it's smaller and thinner. Premium solid tonewoods - a Sitka spruce top, with mystic rosewood back and sides - delivers huge, balanced tone that's amplified to perfection by the onboard L.R. Baggs Anthem electronics. It's part of a limited edition of only 50 instruments, so better call your Sweetwater Sales Engineer and reserve your Gibson Acoustic J-200 Parlor while you can.

This is the classic construction used on all of the collectable Gibson guitars of decades ago. This design includes a large amount of contact between the neck and the body and uses a puzzle-piece type of connectivity. This massive neck joint is stable and allows for the best possible tone. After a good quality solid spruce top, this is the next most critical element of tone. Along with the neck-to-body joint, the Gibson J-200 Parlor's top is crafted with the finest solid Sitka spruce, making it one of the best-sounding and most collectable guitars of all time.
Nitrocellulose lacquer finish, for sound that improves with ageGibson Montana uses nitrocellulose lacquer finish on all their acoustics for a reason. The lacquer finish is thinner than polyurethane, which allows the wood to vibrate more freely for better tone and projection. Also, since a lacquer finish is porous, it allows the wood to "breath." Thanks to the lacquer finish, as your SJ-200 Limited-edition Vine ages, its sound actually improves - just like the great violins of the 18th century (Stradivarius, Guarneri, etc.).
Hand-scalloped top bracing delivers exceptional toneAnother feature of the SJ-200 Limited-edition Vine is Gibson's weight-relieved hand-scalloped top bracing, which provides strength while allowing the top to vibrate with a piston-like action, which is another one of Gibson's secrets to exceptional tone. For over 100 years, the Gibson artisans have known the truth that the top of an instrument is not just a vibrating wall. Gibson carefully scallops and arches each top brace to focus the sound to the center of the guitar top. This technique is one of the reasons why artists, sound engineers, and listeners have acclaimed the sound of a Gibson as among the world's finest.
Classic Gibson craftsmanship yields impeccable sound, looks, and playabilityGibson's reputation as a fine guitar builder dates back to the late 1800s. Handcrafted since day one by some of the most skilled luthiers around, Gibson acoustic guitars have inspired countless players around the world. When you pick up a Gibson acoustic, you know you're getting the finest tonewoods, quality hardware, and incredible attention to detail. These instruments are built to sound great and stand the test of time. After moving from Kalamazoo, Michigan, to Nashville, Tennessee (where Gibson electric guitars continue to be made), Gibson finally settled their acoustic operation in Bozeman, Montana, where they continue to hand craft some of the finest guitars on the planet.
