Sweetwater is amazing. This SJ 200 is mediocre
1) The strap peg on the bottom of the guitar is almost unable to hold a strap it is so tiny and has a very small lip on it.
2) The expensive paint job had a flaw that was annoying enough to me that I was not willing to keep it. Gibson did a poor job painting around the sound hole.
3) The pick guard is a sticker… you say, "surely this guy is joking…" I'm not. It is a plastic sticker that is very easily damaged… like one of those thick stickers that kids play with that is a bit puffy and easily damaged even by my fingernail. I feel a guitar of this price should have a really nice pick guard, not just a cheap plastic sticker.
4) I learned that this class of guitar doesn't have a strap peg on the neck. If you want one installed, you have to get it installed. Sweetwater will do it for you. They are awesome. That was just a surprise for me.
5) The guitar plays wonderfully. Loved playing it. So smooth. Great sound. Feels great.
I gave it 4 stars for the reasons above. The most important thing is it plays wonderfully.
