Left-handed SG Special - Classic Looks with a Modern Sound!

Since the first version of the SG Special in 1961, the Special has represented the combination of looks, functionality and value that is the hallmark of the SG series. And with the SG Special Faded Series guitar, Gibson has given you a guitar with look of well-worn, well-loved instrument. This is a left-handed version of the Gibson SG Special Faded.

Gibson SG Special Faded Guitar Left Handed at a Glance:
  • Worn Brown finish for instant classic looks
  • "Modern Classic" pickups for brighter tone
  • American made, with quality woods throughout

"Faded and Worn" finish for the look of a classic Gibson

Gibson's SG Special Faded Guitar comes with a unique worn finish that evokes the history of the SG. At first glance you might think this SG Special walked right out of the 1960s and onto the stage! But what's more important is the feel of the SG Special. With hand-worn satin finishes and a classic Gibson body style, Faded Series guitars have that comfortable, familiar feeling of a favorite guitar, right out of the case.

"Modern Classic" pickups for brighter, more upper midrange tone
But the SG Special Faded has the performance capability of a brand new instrument. Built with Gibson's "Modern Classic" pickups, the SG Special Faded features tonal characteristics similar to the '57 Classic, but delivers a slight increase in the upper mids for a more contemporary humbucking sound. The special Alnico II magnet gives these beauties a singing quality that delivers on demand.

The SG Special's 490R neck pickup, with its neck-spaced pole pieces, is carefully calibrated to match the bridge-spaced 490T bridge pickup for a perfect combination of warmth and bite. Available with chrome, gold or nickel covers, or with open coils, the 490R and 490T come mounted with two-conductor wiring from the factory. But you can add four-conductor shielded pickups for series, parallel and split coil variations. Make your SG Special's setup truly your personal favorite!

American made with quality woods
The SG Special Faded is built at Gibson's esteemed Nashville, Tennessee plant by experienced guitarmakers. The mahogany body and neck are complimented by the 22-fret ebony fingerboard with pearloid dot inlays. Classic chrome hardware, including Gibson's famed Tune-o-matic bridge and stopbar tailpiece, complete the picture.

Take a look at this extra-special left-handed SG Special. You'll want this classic style in your collection - and on the gig!
