Epiphone Power Players SG Electric Guitar - Dark Matter Reviews

Solidbody Electric Guitar with Mahogany Body and Neck, Indian Laurel Fingerboard, and 2 Humbucking Pickups - Dark Matter

For some, the size and scope of a full-scale electric guitar can be intimidating. At Sweetwater, we believe that nothing should come between you and your creativity, and the Epiphone Power Players SG is a fantastic solution to this problem. Tailor-made for beginner guitarists and players with small hands, the Power Players SG sports a shorter scale length and slimmed-down body, ensuring easier playability for younger players while maintaining the core of what makes an SG so special. Its full-sounding mahogany body joins a bolt-on mahogany neck cut to a flawless SlimTaper "D" profile for comfortable, speedy fretting in all positions. Epiphone's 700T and 650R humbuckers dish out that coveted SG flair with ease, with individual volume and tone knobs fine-tuning your sound to taste. Small on size yet big on sound, the Epiphone Power Players SG is ready to rock whenever you are.

Not worth it

By Scott Patton from New Prague, MN on April 10, 2024

There is no way to fine tune the guitar. Unless you place your fingers directly behind a fret, slightly touching the fret, the strings are out of tune. I did get a return authorization but unfortunately Sweetwater says I need to pay the return shipping and the cost of shipping is half the cost of the guitar. I'm stuck with the guitar and would not even give this to my granddaughter. I may pay for a better bridge and see if I can get it to play in tune. Very disappointed with my purchase.

So bad it's insulting.

By Dan from IL on November 10, 2023 Music Background: Active working guitarist

No way to adjust intonation from the bridge, tuning stability is non existent even after two days of acclimating and string stretching. Cheap hardware, sharp frets, bowed neck, not a single in-tune chord has yet to be played on this thing.
Junior sized guitars shouldn't be synonymous with bad quality. Everyone from beginners, the elderly and little people deserve a functioning instrument. Especially for the money being charged for this toy.
