A Nice Plekked Guitar

By Michael Blaise from Port Angeles, WA on November 10, 2023

I bought this model when it was on special with a free plek job. Now I have no excuses. Lol. Thanks to my Rep Alden Debee for making it happen for me. Always great service from Alden!

Amazing quality for an affordable price!

By Pete from Tucson on October 25, 2023

Couldn't be happier with my PRS SE 24-08 faded blue guitar. I can't believe the promotion when I bought it included a $ pleking service for free. I added locking tuners, graphtech nut and strap lockers. Combined with the free Pleking service and upgrades, it really put this guitar in a category above any electric guitar I have had in the past, and those were american made by fender and Gibson. PRS has had my attention since the early, mid 90s and imo they are second to none. The 24-08 model has blown my mind with its versatility and quality. Combined with Sweetwaters amazing quality and service I couldn't be happier. Shout out to Evan Neiman who helped me immensely during the purchase and upgrade process. It was amazing to have someone who's knowledge and advice I could immediately see, respect and rely on with confidence. It was clear that aside from his expertise and technical abilities, he also just gets people and has a way of communicating with a client on a level I rarely see these days. This purchase just wasn't another guitar for me, it was much more. I hadn't owned one in many years and wanted to get back into playing to keep my mind elastic and for the creative side of my soul i have neglected. This guitar is cheap therapy and kinda adds a grounding ti my life that was missing. Evan totally got that and was genuinely excited for me, realizing this wasnt just the average guitar purchase. Im a retired, disabled veteran and reconnecting with guitar has been more therapeutic than I can put into words. Also I found out just a couple days ago, a dear friend from the USMC who lives in Indiana, has family that work at sweetwater. Knowing what I know about them it is obvious to me that Sweetwater knows that to be successful they have to have great people alone with great?products...and they do! Feel free to buy with confidence and know your getting a great team to support you with tons of quality brands and products. Thanks again Evan, and the whole Sweetwater team that put time and effort into my purchase.

Very surprised!

By Jeff Baldwin from Tucson AZ on September 26, 2023 Music Background: Playing guitar for 4 years and loving it!

I was blown away with this guitar. It was as PRS claims, ready to play out of the box. This thing feels great and the attention to detail is better than some American guitars I own. Special thanks to the best sales engineer Patrick Lantz, you really went above and beyond this time!

What an amazing guitar!

By Jeff from Reno on August 25, 2023 Music Background: 4 years guitar, struggling but the challenge is worth it a

This is my first PRS and it's amazing. The quality fit and finish is better than my LP Studio, and it's so easy to play. This is the perfect middle between Gibson and Fender. I can't put it down!
About me, I've played for 4 years gone thru several guitars before this. Buy it!
Special shout out to Patrick Lantz my sales engineer, you rock! Thanks for the quick shipping!

Great guitar but work needed.

By Dan Lane from Taylors, SC on June 27, 2023 Music Background: 60 years, live performing for many of those, including now.

There is supposed to be a multi-step inspection at Sweetwater prior to shipment. Although this guitar is awesome, some things were needed to keep it in tune. The nut had to be filed (too tight on strings) and the intonation was off along with the action. No big deal but this should have been taken care of prior to shipment.

Exceeded my already high expectations

By Tom Blankinship from Dearborn on April 19, 2023 Music Background: Active hobby musician in a blues band

I had high expectations based on all of the reviews, but this exceeded it. I have several great guitars at higher price points and I know quality. The fretwork on this guitar is the best I've seen on any guitar. Setup was near perfect. I dropped the action 0.25 mm at the 12th and raised the pickups. The pickups sounded a little weak until I did this, but it was a quick and easy fix. Plays great. Sounds great. Comfortable. Versatile. Beautiful. Sounds almost like a Les Paul & almost like a Strat. Trem is perfect. It's my new desert island guitar.

PRS SC custom

This is a beautiful instrument! It was playable right out of the box and the color, style and finish are spectacular. This may be the most I've ever paid for a guitar but I am thrilled.

A lifelong PRS hater turned blown away PRS player

By Zachary Abresch from Midwest on March 30, 2023 Music Background: Stuck in the tones

In an effort to disavow myself of long held biases, I ordered a PRS. Everything I read said the SE models were incredible for where they were made. I took the plunge and couldn't be happier. Sure, I'll upgrade the tuning pegs to locking but otherwise, this guitar is flawless. Plays like a dream, sounds even better. Fretwork is impeccable. Even the wiring is good with treble bleed! The switching options give you a lot more tones without being over complicated. All said and done, this deserve a spot in anyone's collection.

disappointed

By James Gardner from Crestwood, KY on May 12, 2023

I liked this a lot at first. It has everything in design to suit every play style. But this SE line is about the top/finish,the neck, the fretwork, the woods are pretty nice. Everything else is pretty much crap. The tuners go out of tune every time you play for five minutes or more. Cheap tuners. The split coil pickup options are fun to cycle through but they are very cheap sounding. You would want to upgrade the tuning keys, the pickupe, the nut and the bridge. In the end you would have spent far more than $ on this guitar to get it where it ought to be. The setups are very hit or miss on the SE line. 50/50 chance you get one that plays well out of the box. Intonation was not great but not terrible. I had to send it back because it's just too poor quality of parts that I would spend enough upgrading that I'll just get a nicer guitar; that said if you are interested in working on and fixing a PRS up this might be for you. The finishes are amazing for being the lower tier(some of them) and the necks are pretty nice, good fretwork, good weight, comfortable. They just cut a few too many corners for it to be ready to go out of the box, without sending it to a luthier or doing work yourself, they're projects.
