Selmer Paris Jazz Flow Alto Saxophone Mouthpiece - 5 Reviews
From Charlie Parker, Paul Desmond, and Cannonball Adderley to James Spaulding, Gary Bartz, and beyond, generations of gifted musicians have expanded the vocabulary of jazz through their inimitable stylings on the alto saxophone. Now, leveraging cutting-edge technology and a century-long tradition of impeccable craftsmanship, the Henri Selmer Paris Jazz Flow alto saxophone mouthpiece opens up new sonic frontiers for the instrument. Years in development, the Jazz Flow signifies the importance of jazz to Selmer Paris, a company whose world-class saxophones are deeply interwoven with the history of the genre, while acknowledging the alto’s rightful status as an archetypal “jazz” horn.
Selmer Paris does it again
This is the first mouthpiece from Selmer since the mid 1950's with the word "jazz" in the name, although other models such as the "Soloist" are popular with many non-classical players. For jazz and pop work I have been using Otto Link Tone Masters.
This piece is much more flexible than the Links: I can take it from a dark, almost classical sound to nice and edgy with good projection. I get good intonation and response all over my Mark VII.I think the Jazz Flow will do the job, and do it very well, in any performing situation I find myself in. It's just a joy to play.
