I had a great year of touring and wanted to reward my inner gear geek. After researching a lot of different brands of IEMs I decided on Shure. I already had two other pairs of Shures - SE215 and SE535. These were trouble-free and fit great. All the reviews of the SE846 said the bass was superior and being a bassist, it was at the top of my wishlist.
Compared to the other Shure IEMs I own, they certainly are an improvement. On stage they are just as comfortable as the others but the sound is a BIG improvement. Full, rich, articulate mids and never harsh. I'm even wearing them around the house. I'm very happy! Half a star lost for the high asking price.

I've got to say these things are killer. I moved up from my previous Shure 535s after the right ear piece finally bit the dust (I had them for almost 6 years and played shows around 5-6 nights per month). I absolutely adored my 535s but I was really curious about moving up a level but a tad apprehensive to do so as again, my 535s had been rock solid for years and countless shows. My rep Tomir Denton, was kind enough to talk me through some different options as he has been helping me decide on particular gear for years now. Being a drummer, I knew I needed a new set of in ears with excellent low end response and superior clarity all around. The 846s check ALL the boxes and then some! For many of us, the gear we buy can really be considered tools for us to do a job (even if that job is super fun and enjoyable most of the time haha), so it makes sense to have the best tools to do said job. These 846s are hands down the best ears I've ever had. If you are on the fence, I understand. Take it from me though, I really doubt you will be disappointed. I'm back to being excited again about hearing my personal mix every night we hit the stage!

The level of detail these well-built and comfortable IEM's deliver is nothing short of astounding. I tested them wired first with the "Join the Band" intro to Little Feat's "Waiting for Columbus" (a tour de-force of live recording and mixing, not to mention a great band playing fantastic music!). I heard a ton of detail that was never revealed to me before, including the sound of the audience leaking back stage to where the band waits.

Not only are the bass, mids, highs and soundstage significantly better than my previous 5 driver IEM's, but the isolation is orders of magnitude better too!

The companion TW2 Bluetooth is also fantastic. Once again, the reviews were dead-on. Even given Apple's crippled IOS codec, the SE846-TW2 combo deliver better sound than either of the two IEM's I owned before, and I always used them hardwired! The Shure Play app, ambient sound mode, solid phone-call performance and on-device controls complete a great package.

This product is crazy expensive, but even so, it is worth every penny and more!
