Charvel Jim Root Signature Pro-Mod San Dimas Style 1 HH FR E - Satin White Reviews
The Charvel Jim Root Signature Pro-Mod San Dimas Style 1 HH FR M captures the brutal tone and attitude of legendary Stone Sour and Slipknot guitarist Jim Root in a no-nonsense 6-string package! This guitar’s mahogany body is outfitted with two EMG active Jim Root Daemonum humbuckers — an incredible design that combines the power of Jim’s go-to 81/60s with the flexibility of EMG’s Retro Active pickups. A spartan setup of a single volume knob and a 3-way switch keep things simple on stage, while the Floyd Rose 1500 Series Double-locking Tremolo offers maximum tuning stability with even the sharpest of dive bombs. What’s more, the Charvel Speed Neck’s rolled fingerboard edges and 12–16-inch compound radius deliver the high-performance feel that’s made Charvel a metal mainstay for decades.

Jim Root Signature
Nice guitar.
The pick ups are great!
All aspects of the guitar's set up had to be adjusted.
There also were a couple high frets that had to be leveled/rounded/polished. They were well seated, at least. At the price point, it was unusual to encounter such issue, in my experience.
The guitar body is a bit on the heavy side but acceptable.
The finish is nice.
The included gig bag is nice enough, i guess. I will probably purchase a better one at some point. It isn't exactly what you would call form fitting. Very loose and would allow considerable movement of the guitar inside the case during transport.
The guitar throws Killer tone both clean and high gain.
I'm happy enough with it.
Overpriced
Overall this is a great sounding guitar. I was pleasantly surprised by the floyd rose 1500 bridge, which stays in tune very well. The pickups are a premium, and I would say thats where the price you pay for this guitar to be justifiable ends. The guitar feels like a squier. The neck on this guitar while thin and fast, just feels cheap. If you're familiar with squier neck feel, it has that matte texture to it and just isn't what you should be getting for a $ guitar. Ive owned other matte painted guitars/other JR models and the paint on the body is just lower quality in comparison. What you are paying for is the JR name and pickups (albeit at a large premium). If youre looking for a charvel/s-style guitar with an HH setup and floyd, there are much cheaper options elsewhere - even in charvel's own offerings.
