More than I usually spend on a bag, but it's a very nice bag. Using it for my Epi Coronet. Leather-like vinyl will wipe clean if it gets soiled, but I'll keep this one at home.

Best Gig Bag I've ever owned ....

This Gibson soft case is very nice. The padding is thick and the lining is soft. The colors were great. I would definitely buy this again.

Is it a gig bag that is light enough to tote your guitar around as you travel? Yes.

Is it more protective versus a run of the mill gig bag? Also Yes.

To compare, my gig bag experience have been those that have come with older PRS guitars with the non-furry fabric interior or nylon interior that you can buy from a national retailer. Those are good, don't get me wrong but this Gibson bag is a definite step up. It's a real classy treat yourself kind of gig bag.

I really like the white pebble faux-leather material, hope it holds up well since I've only had it a few weeks. It feels nice in the hand and all the touch points on the gig bag feel good. Handles are padded and don't awkwardly twist as you spin the bag around. Brown zippers are also a nice touch.

The interior guitar protection though, really makes it worth your money. There is so much more structure to this gig bag to the point that you can actually can stand it straight up/lean it against a wall when it's empty and the bag will not fold or crumple. This is a soft feeling gig bag but it is not soft on protection. It's got the furry insides of a hard case as well as hard padded side walls like a hard case but isn't heavy like a hard case at all.

Also love the interior neck cradle as well, feels sturdy and and definitely well padded. Gibson branding all around looks good too.

About the only thing I don't love is the spring loaded clip/carabiner style attachment to hang the case. In my experience, a heavy duty metal hook like I've gotten with PRS gig bags would have been better than this nylon and plastic clip style piece that comes as standard. It works and didn't break on first use or anything but it takes away from the otherwise very premium feel of the gig bag.

The interior of the two pockets overall are also not as soft in material as I would have liked but those are things I'm willing to accept given that the rest of the bag is so well designed and constructed.

I would consider this the perfect marriage between a soft portable gig bag and a hard sided heavier duty case. It was shipped to me well-packed in a guitar hard case size box since this gig bag is not fold-able as far as I can tell. An upgrade in almost every way. Of the three colors, the white is my favorite, though I haven't tried the white or brown.
