Kala 12 bari
Been playing over 60 years, mainly bari's lately. I'm about 2 years into my 8-string, had an issue with one of the tuners, shipped it back (my cost), they relaced all of the 8 with gold ones, supposed to be better. No issues so far. Had a Baggs 50 pick-up installed (Thanks Paul). Sounds Wonderful! Nothing but complements. Play through Roland mobile AC, great combination for smaller crowds. Would highly recommend both. BTW, a 32" Kmise gray soft case works well, hard to find, bad zipper quality, though, on my second.
Very Happy with it!
Beautiful rich sound and no set up was required. I do wish it has strap buttons.
You would not be disappointed!
This thing is an absolute treat. I am a acoustic guitar player of ever 60 years and when the opportunity arises I pick up any instrument with strings and noodle around with it I do. Many times I have bought instruments just to experience them and then sell them. I always have at least one uke around. This one is much more. What a wonderfully made and beautiful thing. Tonality to get lost in. Dynamic potential covers a very wide range only limited by player. A Regular baritone uke case was too short. I put it in a SKB 1SKB-SC300 case. A little big around body but length for neck was perfect.
Just WOW!
This instrument is absolutely wonderful! I am definitely a baritone-first player, and I was delighted to see this model available. I've been wanting a double-course uke for some time, and I thought I would have to settle for a tenor -- but Kala really does make dreams come true. The example that was delivered to me is so well-crafted that no setup whatsoever is needed. I'd wager that Kala invest some extra care in this model, if the one I got was any indication. The gloss finish and materials are excellent; this is my first experience with acacia, and I'm in love with it. The instrument has a nice lively, resonant tone and good sustain, which I anticipate will improve even further with an eventual string upgrade.
