Gibraltar Tablet Mount - with Long Boom Arm and Grabber Clamp Reviews

Drum Kit Tablet Mount with 16" Boom Arm, Omni-ball Adjustment Tilter, and Grabber Clamp

At Sweetwater, we’re aware that modern drummers often expand beyond their acoustic drum kits, integrating electronics and outside-the-box percussive elements into their setups. It is even common to see mobile devices utilized creatively during drum performances since they now have powerful music-making apps and can be used as controllers for various software and hardware. The Gibraltar Tablet Mount provides a stable, reliable mounting system for your tablet that’s easy to position and holds tight once it’s clamped into place. Its omni-ball adjustment tilter offers fine-tuned angle adjustment in both portrait and landscape modes, with tablet mount arms that extend from 6-1/4 inches to 8-3/4 inches to accommodate most devices. And, the device’s grabber clamp has a 16-inch boom arm that can attach to any cymbal or hi-hat stand. The Gibraltar Tablet Mount is the high-quality, fully-featured tool you need!

There Should Be These Simple Instructions

By Sweetwater Customer on April 15, 2024

you may think you don't have the right parts but you do. In the photos you'll see metal threads on the black hinge piece into which the threaded end of the boom arm screws in. but you don't see those threads on the part. You have to remove the metal screws on the hinge and poke a screw driver up into the part to pop off the end cap that looks like a permanent piece of that part. Once that end cap pops off you'll see the metal threads. Then put those screw pieces back into place, The ring and its screw cap do fit over the ball, you just have to muscle those pieces over the ball ...screw cap first. Great accessory from Gibraltar!

Nice device

This holder worked great for me. It allowed me to place my tablet exactly where I wanted it. Heavy duty, just like most Gibralter accessories. Like others have mentioned in their reviews, it takes a good bit of force to snap the ball joint together, but it foes go.

Works well on my Edrum kit

By Shane G from Crookston, MN on July 8, 2022

Bought this to use with a Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 10" SM-T500 to mount on my Edrum kit. I do have a bumper case on the tablet which makes it pretty thick. It fits snuggly as the bottom tabs that hold it are flexible rubber which I can slip the tablet into and gives a firm grip. I haven't tried to use it without the case on the tablet so not sure what the fit is like without it. Overall very satisfied with it, the mounting hardware is heavy and durable.

This tablet holder is solid and adjustable so you can put it where you need it, and it stays!

I bought this because I'm just getting into playing drums. I bought a Alesis drum set then found some teaching software I thought would work for me, but it used a tablet. I bought this hoping for the best and it works just as I had hoped. I've used items like this before that bounced around or just vibrated a little too much, but this has been rock solid.

Do not be timid about the assembly.

By MARK PEOTTER from AZ on October 11, 2021 Music Background: Live Gigs and Theater shows

The Gibraltar kit is in pieces, assembly required. You might want to know that there is some forceful effort needed to snap the mic adapter onto the tablet mount. More effort than opening a jar of pickles, but not as difficult as removing the lug nuts to change a flat tire. Some customers could suspect that the pieces are the wrong size and do not fit - but they do.

Well made product, holds the Tablet in a wide range of angles.

I am using this to put some distance my vocal mic and the tablet.

great solution - but know your device dimensions

By Paul on August 19, 2021

this mount solved a floor space/no-room-for-music-stand issue for me nearly flawlessly. only two minor quibbles. first, the head that holds the ball mount requires a flat head screw driver to tighten (which isn't remotely a problem - just most drum stuff has a drum key or wingnut for adjustment). second, my 2nd gen ipad pro just doesn't fit in portrait orientation. measure twice, order once - or just run it in landscape mode (which i intended to do anyway).

Gibraltar Tablet with Long Boom Arm and Grabber Clamp

By Steve Hanks from Kitchener, ON on April 24, 2021

The product arrived on time, I like it, the only issue I had was attaching the back of the tablet holder to the ball, I had to use considerable force so was worried about breaking it, luckily it worked out, there should be instructions to explain this. Steve.

Tablet Holder

By Scott from Wisconsin on December 13, 2020 Music Background: Drummer

I've been in need of a tablet holder that would mount firmly to my drum kit. This one does a pretty good job. The mounting arm itself is well built and what you would expect from Gibraltar. At first glance, the tablet holder itself seemed less robust, and not very durable. I've put it to use, and so far, it's held up to the test. For the money I don't think you can go wrong with this tablet holder.

Good for permanent use

By Davis Northcutt from AL on October 10, 2021 Music Background: Music degree from Auburn University.

If you're not going to move this stand a lot, it's really good. But if you use it in multiple places, constantly moving it, not the best. It's cumbersome and tablet locks in very specific positions. Wanted it for my travel mount. But now it's on my kit at home I never move. Love Gibraltar gear, this one was let down

Tablet holder not worth it

By Andrew Kugler from NASHVILLE, TN on April 10, 2024

Usually I like Gibraltar hardware, but in this case, paying $ for a simple iPad holder was a bad choice. Had to use duct tape to make it stable only after using it for two shows! Highly NOT recommended. Will search for another one because I am not a fan of failing hardware while playing. Wish I was still in return window
