The Gibraltar SC-4402 has two ways to keep this from ever happening again. Steel spurs bore into carpeted surfaces, like your drum mat, to keep your bass drum from sliding forward. And for wood and concrete, just flip the spurs over to engage the rubber feet. The Gibraltar Bass Drum Anchor mounts to your outside bass drum hoop by way of two wing nut screws, so no tools are required for installation and removal - a feature Sweetwater knows that drummers everywhere will appreciate.
It works
I have an 80s MIJ Tama drum set with bad spurs, and my bass drum kept walking away. I went ahead and bought this, and it works. This also raises the bass drum up a bit so if you're on concrete playing your bass drum won't get torn up. I will say, and this might be because I'm stupid, but the packaging was extremely hard to open and it took me about 5 minutes to open it.
Anyways good product and I recommend it
Design flawed
This works however the feet / spikes should be longer and/or adjustable (more). The problem is that if you elevate the front of your bass drum, the spikes aren't long enough to touch the floor. Poor design. Easily fixable
Pretty good
Not bad but wish I could adjust height; Kick has to be almost flat for it to anchor to rug. Build & design are solid.
An Absolute Necessity...
"The Cure for Bass Drum Creep" could not be any more accurate, slap this puppy on and my bass drum stays in place all night. It feels like this thing is bolted down! If you are a hard hitter like me, this is definitely needed and well worth the inexpensive $ price tag.
(Note that it may leave small marks on the hoop)
