Like a 5A with slightly longer reach
I've played several sticks over the years ranging from a 7A up to a 2B, but eventually landed on liking a 5A diameter with a slightly longer reach. These fit that bill perfectly. They have a good weight (but aren't overly heavy or dense), are well-balanced, and the tip produces a good sound on both the drums and cymbals. I highly recommend them.
Excellent Sticks!
The Meinl line of sticks are excellent. I have tried a few models so far and all are excellently crafted and balanced. The Hybrid models in particular can be used for any type of music. There is a reason why the 9A Hybrids sell out so fast! Even if these sticks don't work for you, you will not be disappointed if you decide to try any one of the models that are available. As usual Sweetwater and my Sales Engineer Chris McCown are the best!
