Puts You in Touch with Inspiration

Keyboardist, be warned... with the S70 XS under your hands, you'll be doing a lot of music-making. Seriously. You've got utterly exceptional sounds inside, so you can go classic on Yamaha's finest grand pianos one minute, then go totally modern, totally synth the next: there are 1,024 voices to explore. No doubt about it, the S70 XS is a dream to take onstage. But Yamaha made this one a double-threat by adding onboard DAW controls and a USB computer connection. You can even connect a USB flash drive and record right from the S70 XS.

Yamaha S70 XS 76-key Keyboard Synthesizer at a Glance:
  • Dig into 1,024 inspiring, just-make-you-want-to-play sounds
  • Plug a microphone in and have at it singer/songwriter-style
  • Record right to your USB thumb drive. So convenient.
  • Primed for the studio — use it as a remote control for your DAW software

Dig into 1,024 inspiring, just-make-you-want-to-play sounds
In the S70 XS, you'll find sounds to inspire you. It doesn't matter whether you consider yourself an R&B player, a modern electronica player, a jazz player, a rock player, or what — the sounds in here cover the spectrum... and each one of the 1,024 sounds is just as creativity-lifting as the next. You'll definitely dig Yamaha's brand-new S6 concert grand piano — it's really expressive, and unavailable on any other keyboard. Then, when you take into consideration the 9 types of reverbs and the 22 types of choruses, it becomes even clearer: the S70 XS is 100% a musician's instrument, all about putting you in touch with the way you want to sound.

Plug a microphone in and have at it singer/songwriter-style
We love this. The Yamaha S70 XS gives you an input on the back to plug in a microphone. It's a perfect solution for the stage performer who needs to contribute lead or backup vocals. You have a knob to control the level of your voice — and you can even apply chorus or reverb to give you a cool, custom vocal sound. You're also going to love the microphone input when you've got an idea you want to record — we'll give you more on that below.

Record right to your USB thumb drive. So convenient.
It's never been easier to record your musical ideas, then take them with you! The S70 XS features a spot for your USB thumb drive. Just plug your handy drive in, record your ideas, then take the drive with you. What's even cooler is that you can simultaneously record both your S70 XS and any microphone you have plugged in — it's perfect for the singer/songwriter who needs a really easy way to record song ideas. Just push "record" and you're rolling. There's no frustration here.

Primed for the studio — use it as a remote control for your DAW software
While the S70 XS definitely makes a cool recording solution on its own, you're going to love using this keyboard in your studio. The S70 XS features built-in DAW controls, so you can remotely control playback functions right from your keyboard. You can even control your favorite VST virtual instruments from the S70 XS's DAW Remote panel.

YAMAHA S-70 is for real

I drooled over a Roland BK-9 for 6 months saved up half the money, and decided to credit card the rest. Got it from Sweetwater, but within 1 week, I wasnt really satisfied with it. You can only layer 3 sounds, the BK9 is a great keyboard for production and solo acts, But not a band board. Anyway, I sent it back for the Yamaha s70sx. The Yamaha pianos blow the BK9 away, as well as the strings horns and synths. The BK was slightly better for organs. It has taken a while to figger it out, but man what a keyboard. Its heavy as hell, and a little longer than Id like but worth the money absolutely. Tech support at Yamaha and Sweetwater are great, for answering things I am too dumb to figure out, even with the manuals
