Sweetwater Followup
I forgot to mention in my product review that the follow up after my purchase is much appreciated. They have the product knowledge lacking in many online stores.
More than happy
I upgraded from Studio One 4.6 to 6.5. Though I have not used some of the newer features, I've been more than impressed with the changes to handling video and the overall feel and ease of use. I use studio one to make demo's and to enhance videos I've made on my phone. I highly recommend it.
Studio One to Six I own them all
I've been a Studio One user since v1 2011! I suggest everyone else get on the wagon and see why they are so great!
6 just keeps getting better and better the more I use it.
DAW
I use studio one as my main DAW I like the workflow because I don't I have to think much on being technical
Version 6.5
Hey Folks this DAW is pretty awesome still getting the hang of it but it seems a lot more streamlined for getting a master made we'll see I'm almost there.
Great new gear and great service
I would like to thank Charlie Davis and Sweetwater for guiding me in gear upgrade. Charlie was fantastic in in his suggestions and I'm very happy with the equipment. It's working great. I would also like to complement Sweetwater support. I called them twice when I got my new gear and they assisted me through the set up and helped me resolve some issues that I had. Sweetwater is the best, and is my only resource for all my equipment needs.
Very Good DAW
I've been using Studio one since version 3. It's been a very good DAW--intuitive, with a good interface. It was a smooth upgrade from version 5. I haven't been able to try out all the extra do-dads, but so far it seems to work great.
Super pleased!
I'd been using a different DAW until recently and am extremely impressed with the workflow and sound of Studio One. As always, Drew is a stellar guy to work with. Can't say enough good things about him and Sweetwater.
Seems even more intuitive
Opened it up after the upgrade and got to work right away
The best upgrade ever
Studio one has done it again and it keeps getting better. Studio One 6 is by far one of the top 3 DAWs on the market.
It finally is professional ( it has a de-ser)
upgrading was an easy process! all my songs and extra plugins stayed installed. And presonus finally has all the plugins you need. It runs smoothly, even with windows 11.
2022 Review PreSonus Studio One 6 Professional
I started with version 5 and it blew me away with the features, options, luscious sounds.
Version 6 is all those bell and whistles plus some features, to keep it a front runner of preferred DAW's.
I am still learning all this stuff, but I am finding it mostly to be easy on its own, easy to find help if needed.
I am more into guitar, bass, vocals, heavy drums, but find tons of other instruments and sounds that get the creative juices flowing. I recommend it for beginners to advanced users. I also recommend PreSonus Hardware.
Also a big shout out to my bud's Dan Robinson and Chris Braman at Sweetwater.
Great DAW
Having fun exploring all the tools this DAW offers
Update version of my personal fave.
I've been a StudioOne Professional user since version 3. Each upgrade has offered more in flexibility and the tools needed to do the whole job - recording, arranging, editing, cleanup, mixing and mastering - all in one simple and user friendly platform. In Version 6, there's more power for the working musician that wants to use their DAW for live performance. Some of the more typical functions have been updated to make them more useful and easy to do. Overall, thumbs up to PreSonus for a great product made even better with this upgrade.
Upgraded S1v4 to S1v6
A simple upgrade from S1V4 Pro using the basics to understand what sound Recording Really is. Having little in musical talent, equipment or even technique on how this whole Home Studio thing fits Into my Mechanical Engineering life was intriguing 10 years ago with S1V1. The push to understand what Presonus Has done here is amazing. Without further study and to Use this with Understanding is compelling to Inspire my greatness to explore my Investment.
best version yet
i have been a loyal studios one user since version 1
It Just Keeps Getting Better
First, I have to say that I've never used any other DAW. I began using Studio One immediately after the release of version 4 Professional. Also, I have to admit that I am not computer literate by any stretch of the imagination. I knew NOTHING about using a computer to record audio much less record and produce my own music. I found that learning how to use Studio One was a piece of cake for a couple reasons:1) Studio One is intuitive. Using it becomes so easy to get great results that you'll be amazed how quickly you're up and running . Regardless if you're a first timer like I was or, as I can only imagine, if you're moving from another DAW; 2) Customer support from Studio One with tons of video "how to" on-line makes this DAW outstanding AND each version gets better. I used version 4, then 5, and now I've been using version 6 since it came out and WOW it just keeps getting easier to get outstanding results.
The best DAW out there!
Studio One is for the song writer, musician, and producer. Studio One 6 allows you to create anything that comes into your head without getting in the way. This DAW is truly for the musician.
Take the 30 demo and see it for yourself.
Another solid update - exceeded expectations.
My first impression of the Studio One version 6 feature list wasn't very positive. I didn't see much value in the new features, but after using them for an hour or two, I'm VERY pleased with what they've added. Serious workflow improvements instead of unnecessary bloat features that I may or may not ever use. The Lyric Track is a godsend, and Fader Flip is insanely helpful. Lots more to this update, but Studio One continues to be one of the best DAW choices available in 2022. Been on Studio One since the very first version and it's just gotten better and better.
Nice upgrade
Love the dynamic EQ and icons look cool as well, lot of great new features that speed up your workflow.
Better Workflow
I'm already using track icons, the new EQ, and the binaural pan feature with great results. Track icons might seem trivial, but when you're nearing 60 and staring at a screen, seeing a visual snapshot with the icons is a great improvement. Being able to finally drill down with minute portions of audio and EQ it opens new creative outlets. I am just about to work on the lyrics feature. So far so good.
Studio One Six Upgrade
Software upgrade completed successfully with no issues. Each new release includes new features as well as bug fixes and enhancements. Presonus continues to add user requested improvements and capabilities and product continues to be best in class.
Several usability enhancements added especially if you are using a Faderport. Well worth upgrading even if you only use a few of the new features.
PreSonus Studio One 6 Professional - Upgrade
I like the new channel flip feature, along with the new panning pop-up window & the pan follows send. The new dynamic eq is cool, but if you already have one, it's no big deal.
I primarily use S1 for mixing. I could have lived with S1 5.5. I'm just glad Presonus is not going the full subscription route.
Expected more
While there are significant new features and plug-ins I was really hoping some of the issues I was having, key switches, dynamics, interface issues would be fixed. Yes there have been improvements and the technical staff is diligent in getting back with suggestions but I'd like to see more cross-product support. I would think you folks should be able to get NFR copies of your software to manufacturers of sample libraries and VST/AU plug-ins to more aggressively fix issues, whichever side the issue may be on.
Sadly it's been a case of, "Well if I got their software we could test." Like Nike says, "Just Do It"
Upgrade from professional to 6
I noticed after doing the upgrade I cannot find the option listed in 6 to add icons to tracks. I was disappointed when I realized this optwas not available. I'm giving 3 stars for this disappointment. I love the software but this was a let down.
I love Studio One, BUT....
Even after dozens of bug fixes this version is not ready for prime time.
All the original features from Version 5 seem to work, but the new features are neither well thought out or well implemented. Just one example: The new ability to save track presets has a lot of promise. However, if you save a bus with your tracks, then load the preset, the bus will not be associated with those tracks when loaded. Further, it will not show in the tracks, only channels. I think there's a workaround for this, but what's the point. I can build everything myself faster than fixing all the new problems created by the bugs.
Again, I love Studio One but given a do-over I would not pay for this upgrade again.
Disappointed
I've been using Studio One since version 2. More specifically, I've been using version 3 Professional since it's release up until about 5 months ago. I skipped version 4 and 5 because 3 was just working fine for me, but at the end of last year I decided it was time and I bought this upgrade. And I hate to say it, but that was a big mistake.
Version 6 is just buggy. I wish I could say there was one or two BIG problems with it, but honestly for me, it's been death by a thousand cuts. It's just a ton of little irritants that have stacked up over the last 5 months that have really killed it for me.
Version 3 RARELY crashed on me, even with a ton of tracks/processing happening. I've had more crashes in the last 5 months using version 6 than I had the previous 8 years using version 3. It's really frustrating.
There are some tiny QoL features that are nice, but not enough to justify the frustrations that come with it. I'm probably just going to start using version 3 again.
It’s fine but still think editing is cumbersome
It's a fine DAW…but I still find editing cumbersome. One good thing is that version 6 doesn't seem to produce so many/next to no , artifacts when using multiple midi instruments at once. That is a very big improvement. My computer hadn't changed between ver 5 and ver 6…so the fix has to be Presonus made improvements,
Too Many Glitches
I've been using Studio One for nearly 10 years, it has been by far my favorite DAW to work with. I've talked highly of it and recommended it to many of my friends and other musicians/producers. I recently upgraded from Studio One Pro 4 to Studio One Pro 6 and it has been absolutely hell. The first couple sessions I worked on went smoothly, so it gave me confidence in transferring all of my current working sessions over to the new version (you can't reopen them in an older version once they've been converted to the new version).
Pretty much every single time I use Studio One 6 now, there are multiple graphical glitches and the DAW eventually freezes up and I have to force quit the program or restart my computer. I have downloaded and installed the most up to date versions of Studio One 6, my computer's OS, various drivers, all my plugins (I even downsized and deleted a bunch of plugins I don't use as often) and it still doesn't work properly.
I've lost a number of the sessions I was working on and Im probably going to have to remove Studio One 6 and reinstall Studio One 4 and cross my fingers and hope that I can use some of my old backup files to salvage some of my recordings. Complete nightmare and waste of time and money. I had heard of people having issues with bugs in Studio One 5, so that is why I held off and waited for version 6. Presonus needs to fix the bugs in their current versions before they release any new versions of Studio One. Very frustrated. :/
Bugs, bugs, and more bugs
I started with Studio One 4 Professional, and by the time S05 came out, most of bugs had finally been worked out of S04, so I stuck with it. When I found out S06 had been released, I figured it was time to upgrade. It's usually functional, but when it's not... it's less than worthless. I find myself spending an hour making adjustments to various plugins, and losing it all because the plugins all go back to factory settings when I open the file again. Over and over again. I was second guessing myself at first before I realized the problem was definitely not my fault. You cannot access the community forums without paying a monthly fee, and there's no customer support. There is allegedly a diagnostics report function, but I don't even know where to begin with this, and there's no way to get information about it without forking over more cash to these money grubbers. Starting from scratch with a new DAW is going to suck, but I can't play the role of Sisyphus any longer.
