Great Amp

Beautiful little bass amp at a great price.

Very impressive for the price point and super versitile

By ci from MA
Music Background: very famous synth artist in an alternate timeline. pedal enthusiast in all realities.

I needed a back up for my Rumble 40 so I could leave it at 1 of my rehearsal spaces, so I figured I would try the Rumble 25 for when I travel to other locations.

So far it is excellent. I use them both to play keys and monitor electronic tracks as well as play bass. While the 40 has a bit more low end (and XLR out if you need it), I kinda think the 25 kicks and is super loud for it's size. It handles the electronic drums and synths as well as any Roland KC series I have ever owned back in olden days, but way cheaper and lighter. The weight of things has become really important as I get closer to death.

(also no shade to Roland, all my synths are Roland, but I am done with "keyboard" amps)

For a live show the 40 is probably better for bass, but I like the tighter sound of the smaller speaker for certain styles of music.

Either way, just get a tiny wedge to tilt the amp slightly up towards you and you can hear everything perfectly with out having to blast the volume. (You should do this with any combo amp. Your legs do not require the sound as much as your head does)

Anyway, really solid sound and build. I do not think you can do better for the price.

Great product and value

By Robert M. from FL

This was a gift so we only had a chance to plug in the bass, power it on, and test it. It sounded good. It seems well constructed, is relatively light weight and has a sturdy carrying strap that makes it easily transportable. It's perfect for teaching in the classroom setting. Also, it was packaged very securely for shipping and arrived quickly from Sweetwater. Customer service from Sweetwater is excellent! Very satisfied with tbis product and recommend it.

This is the practice bass amp you need...........

By Gregory D. from NEW HARTFORD, CT
Music Background: varied

I bought this amp after returning the Rumble 15. The 15 is more like a practice amp for guitar: very little bass and way too much mids that you can't really cut. I was pleasantly surprised when I plugged into the Rumble 25. It provides a real bass amp sound: deep lows (without diming the BASS knob), big mid adjustment (with a scoop if desired) and plenty of highs. I will never gig with this as I have a big rig but this is perfect for bedroom practice. I can rattle stuff off the top of my dresser. You might be able to play a low volume double bass gig with this amp. I can't recommend this amp enough for practice. It's great.

Liked It Right Out of the Box!

By Charles P. from Carmichael, CA
Music Background: Bass, drums, Studio One and Guitar Pro DAW user

I am very impressed with and pleasantly surprised by this Fender Rumble 25 Bass Amplifier. I literally took it out of the box, plugged in my Precision bass, turned up the master volume without touching any of the other knobs and immediately loved the sound I was getting from it. It has the same amp section as the Rumble 40 (which is a terrific all purpose bass amp) so I based my purchase of the Rumble 25 on that belief. I was not disappointed at all and glad I chose the Rumble 25.

I normally practice with a keyboard amp using it both as a bass amp and vocal PA. I EQ for the best vocal sound on the PA channel then use a bass pedal to dial in the right bass sound on one of the other channels. I will mostly use the Rumble 25 when accompanying friends playing acoustic guitar or take it with me on vacation. It takes up less space and weighs half the weight of my keyboard amp. I have no plans to drive it hard or try to play loud enough to keep up with electric guitars and live drums so I am pretty confident I will get many years of use out of it.

Solid amp!

By Joseph C. from Severance, CO

My first thought after turning it on and playing was, 'that's what a small Bass guitar amp should sound like'

It's surprisingly loud for 25 watts, too.

Good fit

By Sweetwater Customer from Fort Wayne
Music Background: 30 year player

I'm a guitar player trying to get my 10 year old son interested in music. He expressed interest in a bass so I picked up a short scale mustang and this amp. I like this one over the 25 because it can fill his bedroom without tearing the house down. It has the headroom, fullness of sound, and good controls to shape the sound. I like the overdrive feature as well.

Good little amp… more useful than I thought it’d be.

By Donaldo from USA

Good little amp. Initially got it for keeping in my office, but realized it had some utility when combined with a fly rig style pedal. I go DI, with in ear monitors, but have this on stage near myself and the keyboardist just to move a little air and help us feel the bass and the pops on slap a little better than IEMs. I just have it fed by the amp out on the pedal, whisk the pedal's DI goes to the board. One thing I wish it had was the same style headphone jack as the Rumble 500 which I also have. That has a 1/8" headphone jack, but this one has a 1/4". Slightly annoying to search for adaptors. The overdrive and contour switches are nice, but no way to dial in the gain for the OD.

Fender Rumble 25

By NiCo S. from Holmen, WI
Music Background: In home studio recording

I am a guitar player but needed to add a bass guitar to my recordings. Although the Rumble 25 only has a headphone jack I accidentally found out that if you plug a ¼" cord half way into the headphone jack and connect to a Daw that runs to the computer the sound is clear and totally recordable and can with adjustments for the volume and controls on the amp to get the sounds you are looking for.

Using as stereo FRFR for guitar amp modeler

By Sweetwater Customer

I use a pair of these as a stereo FRFR monitoring setup on my quad cortex and i absolutely love it. These have enough frequency response that it sounds full range but they can still maintain integrity when turned up loud. The EQ allows me to shape the sound to my liking and it works very well. The amps respond well in a stereo configuration. I can hear a clear phantom center and wide stereo image. For the money, this is hard to beat. These amps are also incredibly quiet. I was really surprised they work this well for this purpose. The versatility of being able to play bass guitar out of them as well is a serious value added. They are also extremely light weight. I think ill buy some of the bigger ones as well. Playing out of 8 x 10s and 2 x 15s sounds fun.

Great tool!

By David R. from Muskegon, MI
Music Background: Been playing for 32 years; sometimes I even make money at it

This is the only practice amp I recommend anymore. Cheap, great tone, decent controls, and practically bulletproof. Is it on the level of Fenders bigger combos? Oh, heavens, no. Not giggable; not enough power for that. And nobody would use this in the studio, either, but man, does it ever tick all the boxes for a practice amp, either for beginners, or for use as a "living room amp," playing along to Spotify playlists. And loud enough so it doesn't feel like a waste of time. Highly recommended!

Fender Rumble 25 bass amp

By Pat C.
Music Background: Studying guitar since 5 yrs, performing since 12 taught guitar for 30 yrs still performing on bass at 71 yrs.

It has been a dream come true. It's light, powerful , sounds awesome. I even considered using it live pushing through sound system UNTIL today. I plugged it in and it hummed so loud you could hear it down stairs. All the controls turned down. I tried a different outlet, plugged it in to a brand new outlet and still humming. I have 3 other Fender tube amps for performing on guitar. I use the Fender 500 with the 15" bottom on stage and no problems. I may end up going with Ampeg now as I'm afraid this might happen with my 500 on stage and not just in the studio. Not at all happy

Awesome Little Bass Amp

By Sweetwater Customer from Tennessee
Music Background: Guitar player for 50 years

Very Impressive!

By Thomas R. from SOMERVILLE, TX

This small amp is very impressive for what it is. I have been playing over 50 years and still have Peavey and Carvin 600 watt heads and cabinets but they take up a lot of space and are extremely loud for playing practice and in home. I find the Fender rumble perfect for my needs as a practice and studio amp. I was not expecting it to sound as good as it does. I mean it is not intended for large venues although if it were run thru a sound system it could work. The 8" speaker will never push air like a 10,12, or 15" speaker, but it is very surprising as to how loud, deep, and clear it can get for such a small package. Also I tried it out with my keyboard and even my guitars and it is quite good at both. Like I said, this works out great for me and I'm very impressed.

will cause BAES...

By David from somewhere gnat infested southwest Georgia
Music Background: 30+ years of amateur bass guitar/acoustic guitar, really bad electric guitar, live sound tech, mostly church, occasional live gigs

I bought this for my youngest daughter who plays bass but did not have an amp of her own. I tried it out before I gave it to her. This is very affordable and small but powerful amp for bass with a great sound and tone.
My oldest daughter, who also plays bass but was using an old amp of mine, developed BAES, also known as Bass Amp Envy Syndrome, a condition common among bass guitarist siblings.
I will by buying another for my oldest daughter soon to cure her of this terrible affliction.

Small Combo With Huge Tone

By Wes B. from Kingwood, TX

I got this combo amp for my daughter, who has started learning bass and has been doing really well with it. She was playing through a Zoom B1 Four, into a small powered monitor. It worked out okay for practice but she is progressing quickly and I thought it was time for her to have a real bass amp. This combo is perfect. You can't go wrong with Fender. This is a small combo but it can push some air. The tone is gorgeous and full. Even the overdrive sounds really good and it responds well to pick attack and volume changes. Her bass is a Fender P/J bass and it sounds fantastic through this amp. I would highly recommend as a first amp or even a great practice amp for a pro. Also, shout out to Ed Nystrom, who is always present and supportive with every purchase.

Best-est Bass Amp Series Ever

By John M. from Normandy Park, WA

I'm a 70-year-old bassist. I took up the bass in '67 when our 7th-grade band realized we had four guitarists but no bass player. I've been playing ever since ... evenings and weekends, birthday/block parties and dives and bars and dances and church worship service and all the rest.

Like many bassists, I swore by Ampeg for years. And anytime something new would appear ... Hartke or Vox or Blackstar or MarkBass ... I would try it. And then I'd go back to Ampeg.

Our little indie band in Seattle is doing a lot of busking these days, trying to bring some joy to these troubled times. And because bass amps are heavy, weight has become a consideration lately.

No bassist wants to sacrifice deep beautiful bass response to easy-to-carry equipment.

This is my third Fender Rumble amp. They are extremely lightweight and good looking ... and they pack a wallop: beautiful monster bass tone.

On the street, I play a Gibson acoustic/electric guitar. I run my guitar through a signal splitter, an A/B/Y switch, with one feed to a Fender Rumble 12" ... and the other through a smaller Rumble (either 8" or 10") with a bit of chorus/reverb and the midrange/treble frequencies turned all the way up.

My finger picking style of guitar playing results in a very full sound, like a bass/guitar duo. People frequently ask whether we're using recorded sounds or tape loops, the sound is THAT full and rich.

I lovvvvvvvvvvve these Fender Rumble amps.

I was Skeptical

By John M. from Colorado
Music Background: Piano lessons at an early age, middle school and highschool band. Bachelors degree in music. Played in performing bands of various genres (rock, country, blues, bluegrass, pit orchestra for musicals, and praise team in church.

I've been playing bass for over 50 years, and over that time have used several different speaker combinations in an effort to achieve a good bass sound. It always included larger speakers.... 2x15, 1x18 + 2x10, 4x10, etc. In ths case I didn't need a monster amp, just a warm up, pre-performance rehearsal amp for church praise team, done in a small room, but I still wanted it to sound like a bass, and was very skeptical about achieving that with an 8" speaker. Among the amps I already owned was a Fender Rumble 100 which performed well in smaller venues, so I had faith in the Fender Rumble line, but an 8" speaker? Anyway the price was right and my Sweetwater adviser was confident the amp would fill the bill for my intended purpose, so I ordered it. I'm happy to say, it does sound like a bass and does a great job for what I bought it for. It's not a giging amp. With the 8" speaker, volume is limited before reaching It's distortion threshold, but in a small room volume is more than adequate.

Holy ^&%&^% this thing is loud!

By Matt F. from STEUBENVILLE, OH
Music Background: Rock/Metal/Jazz Bassist for 40 years

I recently joined an 8-piece Jazz ensemble, so I picked this little unit up for practice. We played a swing dance event last night, and I took it along to monitor my playing while being DI'd into the house mix. But it easily filled a medium-size hall all on its own. The mix engineer told me later he mixed a little into the monitor for the drummer, but otherwise this little unit was carrying the load. I had it turned up half-way and it almost felt too loud at points. Extremely well-engineered....it gets every ounce out of those 25 watts. It's louder and clearer than a 65-watt unit I had previously. I wish it had a line-out or (even better) and XLR-out, but otherwise it's an amazing value. Lightweight, sturdy, and easy to handle. You can walk in the door with your bass in one hand and your amp in the other. Highly recommended.

Great little bass practice amp.

By Keith P. from Puyallup, WA
Music Background: Over forty years on guitar just starting bass.

I purchased this amp as a beginner bass player to go with my new Fender MIM P-Bass (awesome bass). I've played guitar for over forty years but never bass and so it's time for the Bass. This little amp provides me with the P-Bass tones I love in a practice setting. This is not an amp for a gig. This is a practice amp and a very good practice amp. I need a lot of practice on bass before any type of gig. If your like me then you can't go wrong with this amp. It's light weight and sounds very good and is loud enough to drive my wife crazy! Thanks Matt and Sweetwater!

Awesome sounding practice bass

By Sweetwater Customer

This little bass amp has a very big sound. I love it! Deep clear sound even with a 5-string bass. I can dial almost any sound I want. The open 5th string on a 5-string bass sounds clean and pure unless I dial in some overdrive. Very nice! Much better than I thought it would be!

Decent for the money

By Jake M. from OTTAWA, IL

So I went back in forth between the Rumble 15 and the Rumble 25. I needed a another amp that was more bass focused for my home studio. The reviews on the '25 seemed much more excitable, so I decided to spend the extra few bucks. I thought it would be a little bit louder, but I don't really have anything to compare it too, so ultimately I would say it does its job. Overall decent quality amp. If you are on the fence between 15 and 25 watt like I was, definitely go with the 25.

Long Term Review

By Sweetwater Customer

After owning this for two years, it's cheap and falls apart quick. Not a good investment. The Aux in is already broken, and sometimes the audio cuts out when I'm playing bass- making it unusable for performances. If you're reading this, spend your money on a used bass amp that was originally more and is higher quality. You won't regret it.

FENDER RUMBLE WITHOUT A STUMBLE

By Michael D. from Charlotte, NC
Music Background: former bassist, live soundboard operator and recording and CD production

The Fender Rumble 25 is unmistakably Fender. It is a versatile Amp, with contour, overdrive buttons easily accessible on the control panel, trb mid and Bass tone nobs and volume. handy 1/4 plug for headphones private monitoring of your playing.
I love the range of sound I can get when I play my bass. there is one drawback... when I play, I am so out of practice and the Rumble 25 is accurate, so I hear how bad I have gotten. chuckle If you are in the need of a great practice amp, what to some recording or [lay small gigs the Fender Rumble 25 is a great choice.

Best choice by far

By Doug from San Benito TX

This amp is far superior to anything offered in the same price range. I was surprised by its tone and clarity, even at volumes much louder than typical practice. It's also one of the few small amps that has a 1/4" output rather than a 3.5mm headphone jack. Very pleased with this purchase.

Great bang for your buck

By Jack

Volume pot was a little scratchy when first plugged in so .5 points off for that but it went away. For the price and speaker size, this is an incredible bang for your buck amp. It's very lightweight but sounds like a much bigger amp. With an active bass, it has that nice "bright but fat" bass tone without touching the EQ at all. With a passive bass, I had to tweak the EQ a little but was still able to get that tone easily. The overdrive button really just makes the signal a bit hotter and the noise floor worse. I wouldn't even really call it "overdrive" so don't buy this if you want an amp that can clip.

You won't be able to keep up with drummers with this thing but if you just want a good, simple, portable and affordable practice amp, this is a great buy.

Are you ready to RUMBLE!...

By William K. from Leland, NC
Music Background: Previous pro musician, rocker, singer songwriter, producer.

We needed a bass amp to rehearse in a small home studio with a five piece band that has electronic drums and a nice Bose PA. We needed to keep the volume down to a controlled level since we have neighbors close by... but we still wanted to rock like it was a large venue, hence the 25watt Rumble amp. Well, this thing sounded like a mini Ampeg with it's little 8" speaker and cut right through the mix like a hot knife in butter. Yay! Not to mention I plugged my Taylor 916ce into it and it pretty good even compared to my Mesa Rosette! And... we used it for a monitor for the electronic drums at one point with success. So, for only $ we have a little amp that can be used for multiple things besides bass. Of course it's not for serious gigs but... I'll probably get another one just because. So, if you're just rehearsing in a studio and need something that has excellent bass tone and enough power to cut through in a studio or small venue, don't hesitate.

Rumble 25

By Allison from Endicott NY
Music Background: Playing poorly for nearly four decades

I'm a guitar player but I recently bought a bass. I was on the fence about the Rumble 25 or the Rumble 40. The 25 is plenty loud, loud enough that my neighbors complained when I had it at 1/2 volume. Seeing this is my first bass amp I don't have a point of reference but the tone seems decent for the price. I like it enough that I'm already looking for my next bass.

This is a great little practice amp as many have stated. One thing I didn t see was it makes a great keyboard amp. I play with two different different keyboard player and they both have tried to buy this amp from me. It has great stage presence on stages in venues that seat 100-150 people. You can mic it or use with a direct box. Has big clean sound for such a light weight amp.

Overall great amp

By Sweetwater Customer
Music Background: ~2 years of active playing

While admittedly, I'm not the most experienced bass player, I can still say with confidence that this is one of my favorite amps. I've played with large amps in the $500 range, and those were amazing, but this amp is a great deal whether I'm practicing or playing in some smaller areas. It seems too light for the sound quality I get from it. Overall, I would say it's a great starter amp, especially for the price.

It's loud enough for that space but does not bother the neighbors. It's a solid amp with very good tone that impresses me. Made a good purchase here.

Great for apartments and for individual practice

By Kelly from Houghton Lake, Michigan
Music Background: Avid musical hobbyist

Bought this amp primarily for my brother to play his Squier Affinity P bass. He is very satisfied with it for that purpose. The size is more substantial than I thought it was going to be when ordering. Cabinet is robust. The sound quality is there with this bass and also with my TD-3 bass synth. It was bought with the intention of practicing/recording in an apartment and I am happy we didn't get the 40watter as this has all the volume we can handle or need.

Great Sound and Value!

By Sweetwater Customer from Colorado

This is a great deal. If you are looking for a step above the 10-15 watt range this one is perfect. This amp has great tone and volume. It works good as a practice amp or even for a coffee shop or smaller venue.
You definitely get a great deal for the low price. The Fender grill is also very nostalgic!

Very Good Bass Amp.

By Virgil from southeast Texsa
Music Background: advanced

I'm just an at home player when I bought my Squire PJ bass I thought it would sound good through my Fender mustang II guitar amp, not quite up to par for bass. Then I got this it really sounds great! If I was going to play at some local venue I believe it would likely be loud enough. It shakes the house with the volume set at about 8 O'clock. The over drive and contour really help to get very good tone. I love mine. it's Fender what else

Great for home use

By Paul B. from Michigan

Was trying to choose between this and the Rumble 40. Went with this when the Rumble 40 was sold out and was a little hesitant, but upon use, this amp is more than loud enough for home use. I can get great tones out of this for my Fender Jazz bass.

Wow!

By Ken B.
Music Background: Terrible guitar player, mediocre at bass, but the amp is good!

I have a 15 watt rumble and was considering getting another. One of your reviewers suggested the 25 watt instead. I went for the few extra bucks and am glad that I did. It's plenty powerful enough for jam sessions or playing small venues. Very portable, which is what I was looking for.

Rumble amps ROCK!

By Geo from Earth
Music Background: Pro

I've used (almost) every model of Rumble bass amps for over a decade now on thousands of gigs. None have ever failed. They always sound great. For bass lessons, I bought TWO of these lightweight little beauties. They do everything you need for low volume rehearsals and practice. And for their size, they are incredibly LOUD.

glad I ordered this bass amp. I wanted something small and lightweight to take with me for jamming with friends. Reviews did not lie. Good tone, enough volume, lightweight. Easy for a 5' older gal to deal with. With my u bass, there is no holding me back. Thanks, Sweetwater. My order went smoothly, quick delivery.

Great Practice Amp

By Michael B. from Cape Girardeau, MO
Music Background: Bassist with 35 years experience, gigging, recording, jamming.

For the price, I don't think you can beat this. Headphone jack, an aux in to play along with whatever. I have mine plugged into my computer and play along with a metronome or tunes. I got the usual contact call from Sweetwater, gotta love their customer service. Its a great little practice amp, I recommend it highly.

By FlapjackDenny from San Antonio, TX

Wow, if you are looking for an awesome addition to your gear arsenal at a great value point this is it! Bought this to pair with my new Yamaha TMB100 Bass and couldn't be happier! Great low end and plenty of volume for my home studio with sweet mids and plenty of head room! At low volume the sound is very consistent as well. Thought I would plug my vintage Stratocaster in for a whirl too! Spanky sounding and clean twang! Thank you Sweetwater and Bob Mondok!

Wow!! Small combo amps have come a long way since I was a teen.

By Matthew S. from New Orleans
Music Background: Bassman

If you are on the fence at all about this amp, just do it! Maybe the best bass related $ I've spent in a long time. It's much louder than I thought it would be, tone is great, and the aux/headphone is great for silent practice and hamming. I love that you can control the aux volume separately from the input volume. Some amps don't have this.

Great bang for the buck and Sweetwater as always came through with faster than expected shipping. Thanks!!

Won't be disappointed

By dave t. from Sterling, VA
Music Background: I like to play...ding ding

For $... and 21 lbs this little thing sounds great, especially considering the cheap Squire MB-4 bass I'm using at the moment.

Get one of the larger models for rock gigs, but for practice and small/ low key gigs this will fill out the low end nicely.

As has been my experience so far with Sweetwater, it arrived in 2 days in spite of the extended lead times I've experienced elsewhere recently...

Fender Rumble 25 1x8" 25-watt Bass Combo Amp

By Kyle from Defiance, OH
Music Background: Beginner

I have only had it a short time, but I love it. It is easy to use, but has enough sound and bass to rock the living room. It is easy to use and small enough that it can fit anywhere in the house. It is exactly what I needed for a practice amp.

Fender rumble 25

By Dominique C. from CA
Music Background: Owned by bass.

Simply unbelievable. I thought it was 100watts through a 10 inch speaker. It was given to me used; I never would have bought it. I got it home and was blown away! 25 today watts sound like 100 yesterday watts! From an 8 inch speaker too! Loud and plenty of big bass. They say this is not a gig amp but unless you are playing heavy metal without a PA then I think you can play a gig with it. I put a Crate Taxi on top and it becomes a mini stack. $!? I would call that a steal. Remember; most clubs run you through the PA anyway so you really don't need those big amps anyway. No amp? Get this one. I have many amps; this one is in my bedroom.

Fender Rimble 25, just what the Dr. ( i mean tha bass player ) order!

By Steve W. from Indiana
Music Background: Playing guitar and bass for over 40 years, worship leader.

This amp is exactly what I wanted. It's small and doesn't take up a lot of space, yet powerful enough to get a good feel for what your trying to do on your bass. It's not a gigging amp, it's not ment to be. Just the right size and power to get your practice in. Love it, could not be happier. Thank you Sweetwater and Fender.

Fantastic!

By Michael Y. from Fort Wayne, IN

It's impossible to beat this amp at this price point. Tone, volume, and feature set are just flawless for a bass practice amp. And all from an 8 inch speaker? It's at least 5 times better than what I expected. I also own the Rumble 200...and every bass player that plays through either the 25 or 200 is astonished. Fender has done an incredible job with their Rumble series.

Awesome For what it is

By Rob

I needed something small to tote around to jams and such without having to load up the rig. Never been a Fender fan but the local music shop had these ... so I gave it a test drive in the store... Outstanding. Anything less than 5 stars rating on this is lying or an amp snob. It's a practice amp... It has an 8" driver ......... and has NO trouble with the B string of a 5sting bass !!!!! If you need a portable unit to toss in the car to go to a jamb or what ever other than a live show... this is the ticket!!

Get It

By Doug W. from San Diego, CA

My practice room is 12'x12' while my only amp was my gigging rig - a Markbass Tube 800 and a pair of 1x12 cabs. Super inconvenient for practice and hard to get a great tone at such a low volume. Well this amazing little Rumble 25 now lives there and fills the room with incredible tone at the right volume. I haven't had a practice amp since my first days 25 years ago. They've come a long way. And I must not understand Watts, because this 25 is surprisingly loud. I only need 12 O'Clock. This sounds great with all my basses, including a 5 string jazz and upright. In fact, my upright is acoustically on the quiet side, and this amp can give it just enough support to match louder unamplified instruments. I hadn't planned to do this, but I actually gigged with it - super low-key coffee shop patio jazz duo with upright bass and unamplified vibraphone. This amp gave me just enough presence for a good mix. But I wouldn't recommend competing with a drummer by any means. Anyhow, a key selling point was the Aux In & Headphones for silent practice. I've tried this with quite a few products now and this is the clear winner in giving me the best sound in my headphones. My P Bass is singing...

It's okay...

By Sweetwater Customer
Music Background: Intermediate

It's an okay amp.

It is loud enough for home practices, and simple enough for anyone to understand. An excellent first bass/keyboard amp.

The lack of a gain stage means that your tones are very limited. The headphone output is loud that that it could kill cheap earbuds. The overdrive sounds a little hissy, and also boosts the volume by A TON. Also, the amp is not that loud. My final gripe is that if you turn the volume all the way up, the speaker gets distorted and flabby. I'm guessing that it can't even handle 25 Watts?

By Sweetwater Customer

I was surprised with the volume and tone of the Fender Rumble 25 even though I had read so many excellent reviews. An excellent value. Sweetwater's free, fast delivery, less than 48 hours from when the the order was placed, is another reason to buy here. sweet GUITAR amp!!

By Redbuddy from East Tennessee
Music Background: former pro musician, now 60something hobby band member

I bought the Rumble 25 for bass practice/recording amp. But I couldn't resist plugging an electric guitar in; man oh man, this amp sings the blues! The limiter that Fender put in adds compression and tube-like grind and sustain when the amp is turned up and you bear down on the guitar, sounds like an overdriven tweed Bassman. When you pick softer it cleans up. Has great presence. I am gonna get one more Rum25 and use them as a stack.

Guitar- rehabbed 90s Epiphone Telecaster with Guitarmadness stock-style pickups, volume and 3way switch only, no tone pot.

...you can't go wrong

By Joe A. from Normal, IL

This little amp is doing everything I need it to do as a practice amp. I'm playing a PRS S2 Vela through it, and typically I'm using headphones. My go-to amp is a Fender '65 Princeton Reverb (12" speaker) and while there is of course a world of difference between the two amps, I'm nonetheless impressed with the Rumble 25 and would recommend it to anyone looking for an inexpensive and fairly lightweight practice amp. (I have it sitting on a Mud Stand Mini to get it off the floor. Had to modify the latter slightly to make room for the power cord, but it was a simple affair of cutting off an inch of foam with a knife.) Thanks as ever to Forrest Powell for pointing me in this direction.

Fender Rumble 25

By Stephen D. from Leesburg, FL

The amp is great sounding, lightweight, and it will shake the house. My only complaint is that you can't use Fender's Tone app with it. Was looking forward to exploring all the different sounds available. The main complaint is that nowhere in Fender's literature or in the app itself do they say you have to have the Rumble 40 or larger to use the app. Would have been nice to know before I bought that I needed the larger amp. Guess I'll chalk this one up to experience and call and ask questions before I buy. Would have given the amp a five if I could use thee Tone app with it.

It Completes the Sound

By Clifford A. from California City, California
Music Background: Over fifty years experience in guitar and piano

A couple of months ago, I bought a Yamaha EW300. The next month I added a Lester-K to enhance the organ sound. I already had a Fender Chorus amp, but the bass notes were putting a strain on it. The Rumble 25 balances the output, and it completes the sound. I now have a professional quality keyboard set that is a pleasure to play.

Rumble 25

By PHILLIP C. from Beckley, WV
Music Background: Over 20 years playing bass.

I purchased this amp as a practice option for rehearsals with bands I play with..When I opened the box I was a little apprehensive due to its small size and 25 watts behind it. I was blown away when I plugged my bass into it.. All the tonal options with only a 3 band eq amazed me.. I bought this amp to practice.. Instead of using my Ampeg for church yesterday I took my Rumble 25 and it more than filled the room in the small church that I play in on Sundays. I highly recommend product to anyone starting out on bass or looking for a quick travel amp for small venues. And the Sweetwater sales associate Frank Gertz that sold it to me always makes purchasing easy as well as follow up to make sure I'm satisfied with my purchase.

Great little amp

By Scott G. from Hummelstown, PA

Needed a small practice amp and picked this up based on price and convenience (it is small and light), with relatively low expectations. I have to say that it sounds fantastic, holds its own in terms of power even at 25W, and exceeded my expectations by a mile. The overdrive is cool, if not a bit overcooked, but the non-overdrive is clean but with some bite, the convenience of an 1/8" jack for running aux equipment into the amp for practice, and the overall convenience of the thing are all just great.

February 26, 2018

Great bass amp

By Sweetwater Customer from Seatac, WA

I make music in an apartment so I can"t really turn it up too loudly. That"s why I always keep my bass amp under 25 watts. It"s loud enough to practice without disturbing my neighbors. The only thing it lacks is the ability to record into an audio interface, but I just plug my bass directly into an audio interface and use vst vintage amp when it comes to recording. For practice, it"s the best for,the price range.

Louder than You Think!

By James R. from Hurleyville, NY

I use the Fender Rumble 100 for bigger gigs and outside gigs and the Fender Rumble 45 for more smaller intimate gigs. Love the warm thump, full frequency sound and classic Fender styling. Incredibly low in weight and heavy on deep rumble and superb sound all around. I bought this littler brother amp, the Fender Rumble 25 for home practice. I keep it on a stand next my bed where I practice everyday. This amp is WAY louder/ powerful than needed if you're only a few feet from the amp in a bedroom setting. In fact I turn the three tone controls ALL THE WAY DOWN even when the volume is at it's quietest position. Even with the volume almost all the way down with all three tone knobs down to zilch, the volume will be a bit much for those in the next room the moment I kick on the Overdrive. Seriously. This little amp is LOUDER than what you would think. Fender amps are a homerun every time and this Fender Rumble 25 is no exception. Light in weight - heavy in pump and volume.

Not very reliable. Lots of static and pops.

By Sotero R. from CT
Music Background: Rock, metal and classical guitar.

This is probably the worst practice amp I've ever had. This amp produces too much static at times. I've tried all kinds of basses and guitar cords but nothing seems to work. It is definitely the amp. None of my other amps do the same thing and I use the same equipment on all.
I just think this amp is cheaply made. Fender's quality control is lacking when it comes to the manufacturing of these amps. That's why I typically buy Ampegs. I'll never buy one of these again.

Great little amp.

By Sweetwater Customer

I bought this bass amp to be able to move my smaller Fender amp in the bedroom. I play out so my main is a vintage Fender Bassman (love it). This amp is the perfect size and the sound is great. You have to fiddle with it to get the right sound but that is personal. Love it but the built in Overdrive is a bit weird so I still use my regular pedal. For the price, this a good deal...better than most pawn shops by far. It was shipped fast and safely.

Great Little Amp

By David from Vitale

I bought this amp for my daughter as she is just starting to play bass. I have the Rumble 500 with the Rumble 15" extension cabinet and was already well familiar with the quality and tone flexibility of the Rumble V3 series. When the amp arrived, I plugged in my 62' RI Jazz bass to test it and could. It believe I was playing through an 8" speaker with only 25 watts. I played for almost 2 hours with every tone and pickup combination I could think of and from Motown to Slap styles. This little amp delivers on all counts. You can seriously play small coffee house or lounge duet typ gigs with it. I have a Bluetooth adaptor that I plug into the line in, sync my iPhone to and practice. At this price, I think I will be getting my own as my daughter loves it as well.
And then there is the ever present Sweetwater sales and support. Dave, my sales rep is always there to take care of my ever picky needs. Buy this amp and buy it from Sweetwater!

And RUMBLE it does!

By Geoff H. from Phoenix
Music Background: 45+ years guitar player, 3 years on bass

A friend gave me this amp to go along with my Ibanez Soundgear bass, and it rocks! I cannot believe this is only 25 watts. The tones it gets with all the contouring the amp does are amazing! The soundgear has the active EQ so I tried to overload the amp and get it to distort. It would not distort, even at about 3/4 volume. Punch the distortion button, and you get the classic Ampeg SVT bite. This is not a large venue amp. But it will be more than enough for a small club or coffee house or party. This will serve me well for a long time!

Love this little Fender

By Glenn from NY

I am not a professional musician nor a Bass player. I like many just enjoy playing an instrument for my own pleasure in the privacy of my own home. I wanted an amp that would fill a room with quality sound not Madison Square Garden. I found this Fender 25w Rumble to fit my needs.

The sound quality is surprisingly clean despite the 8' speaker, I was afraid of distortion but it seems to hold its own. There are a few nice features such as eq and an overdrive.

I would recommend this to anyone wha is just beginning or simply wants a warm up amp around.

Don't be fooled, this is a solid sounding practice amp! It is loud but you lose a little clarity when you crank it and when I say crank it, I mean louder than you need to. Great Practice Amp

By Brandon R.

I was not expecting much out of this amp when I first got it seeing that it is only 25 watts, but WOW did it blow me away. You can get a variety of tones out of this, and with the contour button I feel like it brings it all together. I have used this amp without a mic at small shows, so it is doable to sort of gig with. The overdrive is a nice feature, but I feel like it only makes it louder instead of more grittier as I hoped it did. The amp seems very durable and lightweight. Once the speaker is broken in then it does get better. I do want to upgrade to the higher Rumble amps because they just seem so great!

Fender Rumble (Version 3) 25w

By Randy from Olympia, WA.
Music Background: 30-years playing guitar/bass for church worship bands, and naming with friends

After honestly assessing my practice habits, I logged on to Sweetwater to explore items to address my reasons for skipping practice, thereby enabling me to practice more often. After an hour or so, I narrowed my requirements to something that is easy to carry from room to room, with a built in speaker, headphone jack, and auxiliary input, and one rather important feature-- it must be under $. All of which pointed to a small practice amp, though most were outside my price range, or starter amps that just appear too cheap to bother with.

Then I discovered Fender's third generation Rumble bass amps in 15 and 25 watts. The Rumble 25 was only about $20 more expensive than the 15, and considering the 25 was still within my budget I placed an order. My hope was this little practice amp would be light enough to easily move around the house, heavy enough to remain stationary when I want to stand while practicing, handle input from my laptop, or iPhone, and sound good though the speaker or headphones. Photos of the amp suggest that leaving it in our living room would also be a welcome option as it is very easy on the eyes. Reviews on-line were overwhelmingly positive, so I had high hopes for this little Chinese made amp. Five days later it arrived.

As soon as the amp arrived I grabbed my favorite bass and plugged in; mainly to make sure nothing was damaged from shipping. My first intention was only to spend a few minutes going through the controls just to make sure everything was good. Surprised at how good this little amp sounded, I ended up spending the next two hours playing though this little guy.

Part of the initial getting acquainted period was fiddling with the knobs and the two switches. Controls are simple: volume, bass, mid, treble. As is my starting point, I ended up leaving all at their center detent except the volume, which I set to roughly 25%. The tone is classic Fender, and loud enough to fill our living room. The two switches (buttons, to be precise) are "overdrive," and "contour." The first does what one would expect, which never really appealed to me. "Contour" seems to scoop out the midrange; again, a feature that I could happily do without.

Surprisingly, the Rumble's eight-inch speaker sounds much bigger than it is. Turn the volume up to half and the house is rocking! This would be a wonderful amp for acoustic jams-- it is very light-weight (about 20 pounds), sounds terrific and can really wail. This is primarily a practice amp though, and as such it really shines. The aux input allows for playing along with an iPod, or a metronome as I have been doing a lot lately. Unlike some practice amps that have trouble reproducing songs from an iPod, this amp handles it with ease. Add my bass to the mix, and both sounds come out wonderful-- exactly what I was looking for in a practice tool.

Aesthetically it is a vintage, simple look that either appeals to you or not. Personally I really like it; more importantly so does my wife, which is a real blessing! Because she likes it, the amp is welcome to reside in our living room, making it easy for me to plug in without the bother of moving around a lot of gear.

Since its arrival a few weeks ago, I have played the heck out of the Rumble. It is exactly what I was looking for, and more!

Beyond Incredible

By Sammy from Okmulgee, OK

When I first got this little amp, wasn't really expecting as good as the reviews had all stated. But to my surprise, this little amp is doing things I didn't even think was possible in this small a package. The warmth and tone of this little amp reminded me of the tube Fender Bassman amp I had years ago. And probably has a similar gain output. It's extremely full and clean at the bass end, which is very surprising it being a light weight combo cabinet with an 8 inch speaker. The headphone output, (which can also be used as a direct line out) completely shuts down the speaker output when in use, which is very nice for late night playing.

It arrived in perfect condition. It performs far better than I had hoped it has a nice clean, clear, loud sound. It makes my cheap little bass sound fantastic. FENDER STRIKES AGAIN. Also, Sweetwater is a great company to deal with, everything was fantastic.

Great Amp for the $$$

By GuitarGirl from USA

I was looking for a small practice amp and was planning on getting the Rumble 15w. But after I saw the 25w I decided that it was worth extra $20. I'm glad I spent the extra. It's great to have the Aux In jack as well as the Contour and Overdrive button. It's also nice to have the extra wattage as well in case I ever need it and you don't have to sacrifice a lot of space to get the extra boom. It's is very lightweight but still feels sturdy. It has great sound and doesn't at all sound distorted. I've only had it a couple weeks but so far I'm very happy with it.

This Rumble Really Rocks

By steve b. from groton, MA
Music Background: Everything

After trying 3 other small combos; The GK, Ampeg and Orange, I finally decided this was exactly what I needed. Yeah it's portable which was what I really needed, but it also had to have good tone! And this delivers solid, punchy, clear tone. The others I tried kept breaking up at low volumes, but not this baby. It's well made, sounds great, lightweight and extremely portable. Bass in one hand, amp in the other and away I go! Highly recommend and the price can't be beat. Hands down beats all others in the $99 - $199 range. If you're in the market for a small lightweight great sounding bass combo - look no further than the Fender Rumble, it really rocks!

Fender Rumble 25

By Duane H. from Marysville, Washington

Great little practice amp or would great for a small venue. I bought this for my grandson, but of course I had to put it through it's paces before I turned it over to him! Was going to get the Rumble 15, but for just a few bucks more you get the extra ability to play with the sound. The overdrive enables you to dial in some unique sounds and this little guys packs a punch. Highly recommend. And of course, unequaled service from Sweetwater. Arrived quickly as promised and in perfect condition. Get one, you won't be disappointed.

Beyond bass

By John J. from Boston, MA
Music Background: Semi-professional jazz guitarist

I want to join the chorus of people who are raving about the Rumble 25 1x8" 25-Watt Bass Combo amp. Since my son is going to college this fall and needed a small practice amp with aux for iPod and a jack for earphones/mute, I started looking around. He already has Ampeg, Gallien-Krueger, SWR and TC Electronics amps for his electric and standup double basses (he loves all of them), but he needed something small enough for his room. Yet, he didn't want crumby sound, and he wanted enough power to play small combos in the dorm.

While setting the amp up to give it a try, I plugged in my Breedlove Acoustic electric until my son could fetch his electric bass. My son didn't have a chance. I was so impressed by the sound palette of this amp with an acoustic-electric that I decided to test it on my mandolin and ukulele. Again, a home run. So, I've decided I will be holding on to this amp until I can get a Rumble 40 delivered. Then my son can get his amp back.

By the way, we did test the bass, and the sounds were great. It is exactly what my son was looking for. He is also impressed by the construction and feels this amp will be able to take a bit of abuse.

My only complaint is that Fender didn't make an amp cover for this Rumble amp. I'll need to find another way to keep the beer out of the amp (it makes a great coffee table!).

Rumble 25 - Surprising Rumble for the Buck

By Sweetwater Customer from Oxford, MS
Music Background: Hobbyist

I was looking for a $100 practice/jam amp and decided on this Fender. My brother-in-law is a Fender guy and I have been impressed with the sound of his Fender 6-string guitar amp compared to my Peavey so I figured I'd be making a good choice. It arrived in a larger than expected box for a larger than expected amp. No problem as the amp is light for its size and I believe the size has to do with its sound quality. Speaking of sound quality...it's excellent. The tone with my Vintage Modified Jaguar is really nice. I'm also impressed with the variation of sounds I can get with the Overdrive and Contour controls. I lost track of time, but I played for 4-6 hours straight right out of the box because I was having so much fun. By the way, it's very cool looking with that vintage Fender look. For $100, I just don't think you could find a competing model that would touch the sound and features of the Rumble 25. I highly recommend it.

Fender Rumble 25-Watt Bass Combo

By John from Bolivar, Missouri
Music Background: 50-year bass enthusiast

Super practice amp! More than enough volume, more than enough tonal options, and light weight too. Works well with all 4 bass guitars - 5-string, Fender P, violin, and acoustic. The "contour" option especially brings out the acoustic's sound.
