The amp arrived timely, was packaged with care and had a nice little bag of candy accompanied the amp. That was a nice surprise.

Get the Rumble 25 instead..............

By Gregory D. from NEW HARTFORD, CT

As others have mentioned, the sound out of this anemic for a "bass amp". There is not enough bass and the mids are way too hot. Very low quality sound. I ended up returning this for the Rumble 25 (with fingers crossed). Spend the extra bucks and get the Rumble 25 if you need a bass practice amp. THAT is what a bass practice amp should sound like, even on a 5 string.

great bass amp

By Javier A. from PORTAGE, IN

This is a great practice amp not to loud but definitely loud enough, won't make the neighbors made.but you will get a good practice in and feel the bass and hear all of you tone.

Its fine

By Christopher F. from Jamestown, ND
Music Background: Hobby player

Got one second hand. It works OK. No overdrive. Absolutely will not keep up if you jam with someone playing a guitar. Works fine if you are playing by yourself with music on another speaker ok. Tends to fart out after 6/10 on volume.

just ok

By Dean D. from RIPLEY, TN
Music Background: old geezer just started playing again last year after I stopped playing back in the early 80s

It's an ok little amp for the most part.I gave it 4 stars because after I use it for about 2 hours it seams to get a little bit of break up even using it at low volume but when I shut it off and un plug it for about 15 minutes I turn it back on and it gos back to sounding ok I think it's a het issue when using the head phone jack it sounds fantastic for as long as it is used over 2 hours and yes I tried different basses and cables with the same results. As always big 10 star rating for Sweetwater for there help and super fast shipping.

Great practice amp

By Roland W. from GREEN VALLEY, AZ

Didn't expect much for under a hundred bucks, but pleasantly surprised. Puts out enough power in the music room to hear it clearly and has controls to adjust the sound I'm looking for. A real quality piece. I'd buy it again.

Nice amp

By Doug from Greenville Pa
Music Background: Bass guitar

I like this amp. It's lite weight, good amount of volume, looks great! I just wish it had a little more bottom-end to it......
But I do like 'getting things' from Sweetwater!! Just wish these guys were around back in the day when I played a lot! Now I just play sporadically.....

This amp is fantastic. just what i needed to replace my old Peavey 126. its small enough that is only takes up a little space but has big, clear sound. the built in EQ helps to dial in your tone. & the great work by Connor Smith at sweetwater got my amp here ahead of time.

GOOD LITTLE PRACTICE AMP FOR THE MONEY

By dw from Tampa
Music Background: Pro touring & recording guitar, bass, keys, vocals. Studio owner and producer

The speaker holds up even under fairly loud volume. At practice volume it's fine. I was only unhappy with the tone, even with 3 tone knobs, bass-mid-treble it gets a very honking midrange tone. I put a 10band eq in-line and it's better but with 3 tone knobs I shouldn't have to do that. The bass knob has too much low-mids instead of bottom, but maybe that's because of the limitations of the speaker, lower freqs might blow it out. Avoid the mid knob completely, it boosts a very unpleasant mid frequency. Just the name Fender on an adequate little amp is probably worth the under $100 price (I got it on sale) so for a practice amp, it's light and plenty loud enough. I'm kinda finicky about my tone so it bothered me but it's probably fine for most ears. I like a warm, smooth bottom end with enough highs to cut and give definition but the mids were impossible to smooth out w/o an outboard eq.

This is a personal quibble, but I'm using mine to teach my daughter to play and I wish it had 2 inputs so I didn't have to run 2 amps(plus mine has some tubes), even at the cost of reduction of volume. I don't really need the aux input but I guess it's nice to have.

The free floor wedge they threw in to tilt the amp is kind of useless though, a mike case would give a better tilt than that little thing. Currently using it as a doorstop.

Superb small personal practice amp!

By Richey from Holland, MI
Music Background: Gigging Musician

After taking up playing bass I needed a small, personal practice amp that I could use in my office. The Rumble 15 works perfectly in my situation! A bass player buddy of mine has the Rumble 110. I borrowed it and while it worked well, I didn't need that much size and volume. I was surprised at how loud the Rumble 15 can get! It might be loud enough for a full band practice. No complaints here. Good bang for the value.

Great little practice amp

By David E. from Mount Carmel, PA

For it's size, it is more than loud enough for practicing at home or even playing in small bars if you'd like. I do feel the midrange is a bit too much, but that could just be a personal preference as well.

Solid Practice Amp!

By Tyler from Phillips
Music Background: Performer and Teacher

I've played keys and guitar for well over a decade, and while I've started learning bass for months now I've never actually owned a bass amp before. I have a vintage Rick that I got for free years ago and it sounds fantastic through this little amp. The school I work at uses these too, both for bass students but also in the drum rooms if you want to play a backing track through the amp via aux cable. For the price, portability, and sound, you can't go wrong!

Fender has let me down

By Mike F. from Baton Rouge, La
Music Background: On and off professional musician for over 50 years

I have used Fender products for over 50 years. My recent purchase of a Fender Rumble 15 has been a total disappointment. It is no way a bass amp at any volume or setting and sounds more like a transistor radio. I have a
Rumble 40 which I like very much but Fender should not even make a product like this and advertise it as something it isn't.

Why do I need a review title?

By Anna
Music Background: I play acoustic guitar and started learning bass two months ago.

This is my first amp from sweet water, and I'm satisfied with it. All I needed was a practice amp, and this is perfect for that. It is a little on the small side for a bass amp, but I don't mind because it still puts out great volume!

Short Lasting

By Sweetwater Customer

This is a good starter amp and is good for how cheap it is, but after a year of owning it you will run it to a lot of problems. I have always taken care of my amp and have never turned the volume up past 25% but for whatever reason it somehow got blown out and is really quiet. For $ I would recommend by the acoustic starter bass amp.w

By Elijah from Texas

It sounds great and is plenty loud for my purposes which are practicing in my room. The front mesh grille comes off which confused me at first but it's velcroed on. I really like that the volume and equalizer knobs are on top. The auxiliary input on top was a nice touch.

Nice little practice amp

By Brandon from Fort Wayne, IN

After many, MANY years, my little Peavey practice amp finally gave out on me so of course I needed a new amp to practice at home. I live in an apartment so I didn't need anything too fancy or anything that was going to break the bank. This amp is exactly what I needed. A nice little clean sounding amp that is a very good platform for pedals. It can actually get quite loud as well for an 8 inch speaker. It's also really light, so transporting it different places is a breeze!

Absolutely Fantastic

By Tommy from Indiana
Music Background: musician 50 plus years

I was looking for a small bass amp for my Hoffner bass guitar. After trying out 3 or 4 other small bass amps, there was no comparison to the Rumble. I was shocked at the sound quality. It works great for small venues coffee house ECT.. I purchased it for home/studio work. If your looking for a clean well rounded sound this is your baby. I was equally suppised how well my telecaster sounded., It has an overdrive button that sounded great! Last but not least was my acoustic guitar played very well. One last thing the PRICE you literally can't beat for the quality & engerinering that went into this sweetheart! I've spoke with other performing musicians and all agreed its a gem for the PRICE. I play jazz, blues and a little funk on this amp. I can't not speak for those looking to extreme crunch.I don't do that. I respect and enjoy it, but not my style. One last thing I'd had no problem getting a low RUMBLE with my bass!!! Appropriate named for sure!

Fender Rumble 15 is perfect for apartment practice

By Sweetwater Customer from Atlanta, Georgia
Music Background: Beginning electric bass guitar player, experienced singer

I have another amplifier in my apartment and live in a congested area of Atlanta. When using it, the amplifier was also picking up radio signal so a radio station would become more than alive especially during the weekday evenings. Just pure sound comes from this reasonably priced Fender Rumble 15 so I am so happy.

Terrible Amp

By Don L. from Chicagoland

Do yourself a favor and ignore that this amp exists. Spend $20 more and get the Rumble 25, which sounds great and isn't too much larger in size. This amp sounds absolutely terrible. Tinny no matter how you adjust the settings. I own the Rumble 25, 100, and 500 and love them all. All that this amp has going for it is that it looks good.

Great little practice amp.

By Sweetwater Customer

I needed an amp to take with me on vacation and business trips. This amp is very light and small so it is easy to fit in the packed car. Being a little amp with an 8 inch speaker, I was not expecting it to sound as good as it does. Was very surprised at how loud it can go, and how good it actually sounds for what it is. I like to play music off my phone into the aux input and play along with it. Works great for that. For the money, you can't go wrong with this one.

Great Starter Bass Amp

By Perry H. from Bakersfield, CA
Music Background: Music Instructor, House of Worship

The price is absolutely amazing, and provides good volume to get heard above other practice amps. Headphone jack makes it great to use when you need to be quieter and the auxiliary input is handy to practice along with recorded songs. My only issue with the amp is that it has a hard time with the E string. Doesn't put out as much volume at on about the first 3-4 frets.

Nice Little Amp!

By Michael E. from Colorado Springs, CO

When you consider that this amplifier will cost you $79.99 with free shipping, you can't go wrong if you need a small practice amp that will give you enough volume for personal practice. Living in an apartment and not having the room to bring in one of my larger live performance amplfiers, yet needing something for personal rehearsal, this is the perfect amp. It's the right size, and considering it's only 15 watts with an 8" speaker it sounds pretty good. It doesn't have much in the bottom end, but hey... it's 15 watts with an 8" speaker. All in all... this was a great buy and I give it two thumbs up. It's perfect for my needs.

Great Practice Amp

By Richard M. from Fort Mohave, AZ
Music Background: Professional drummer, hobby guitar, bass, keyboards

Had to bring in a smaller bass amp for my bedroom, and switch out from my Ampeg BA112 (50 watt version), so
I compared them even though this is kind of like comparing apples and oranges, but it was there, so what the hey.
I was actually looking around for a smaller cab 1x12 to replace the larger BA112, but there is no such thing The orange, and Kustom
are a bit smaller than the BA112, but not enough. This is due to a bass amp (more than guitar amp) needing a larger cab for lower frequency resonance created by the speaker, so in most cases, you have to match the speaker size with the cab: Small Speaker=Small Cab,
Large Speaker=large Cab.
The Rumble 15 (I also have a Rumble 100, 1x15 Combo) sounds much better than I had anticipated, considering my other two bass amps are a 1x12, and a 1x15. The BA112 is much louder, and can handle the E without breakup which the 15 cannot. With this one exception aside, the 15 has excellent sound (at about half the volume), and you will have to adjust from the larger amps by turning up the guitar, and amp volume more
than you are used to.
For the price, and small footprint, this is a great choice for the bedroom (apartment, Etc.) where room, and volume is limited.
For those that (unrealistically) expect a big sound out of this 8 inch speaker amp; GET REAL!

Fair enough for this money :)

By Sweetwater Customer

I'm using the amp to play at home and it's more than ok. I would say it's made for that purpose, and that's it. So if you're expecting to play with other people, maybe it's a bit short and you should look for something else.

But, as I said, fair enough for this money.

Got this amp to go with a small used bass I got for my grandkids to learn on while they jam with me. For our purposes and the cost it can't be beat!
