I have what I thought (and still think), were decent monitors in the Adam A7X. I was beginning to think that I needed to go to the next level with monitors though and was looking at a couple of options, from other brands. In a discussion with my sales rep, Joel Helton (who I highly recommend), he was able to impress upon me that these PMCs would be a better fit for my scenario. I will echo what some others have said in that they feel "plasticy" and like the enclosure quality doesn't match the price point, but after listening to them for 30 secs, I couldn't care less about that. Amazing clarity, frequency response and range, right out of the box. Night and day from my old monitors, which again, I feel are pretty decent. Very happy with the purchase and would recommend these without batting an eyelash if your space is right for them.

The PMC Result 6's produce crystal clear, defined sound with any genre and application. However, the bass frequency response and low extension is simply lacking, especially for the price point. Most customer who spend $ on a pair of monitors are using them as their primary pair, and with these, it would be hard to do if you needed bass monitoring to mix from.

I also have a pair of old skool Event BAS 20/20 Power monitors, and a pair of Adam A8H's. I enjoy the PMC's because when I need some bass response, I can turn the others on. In my opinion, thse are some of the cleanest and accurate monitors, but would not be a pair of all around monitors based on my needs.

Ok..... where do I begin....
I'll start by saying this, most people know monitors are reliant on the acoustics of the room they are going to be placed in.
This particular pair of speakers are from my experience more sensitive to the environment and positioning.
This is probably due to how their ATL technology works.

If placed directly on desk with a set of iso acoustic stands (for example) expect a massive bump in the 100hz to 120hz range of plus 6db to plus 12db. That being said there are very few dips and if any are present have not exceeded -3db.
Once paired with calibration software such as SoundID Reference / Sonarworks this is where the magic will happen.

These monitors will tell you if your low end is not right and it will be like a slap in your face.
The mids are for a two way speaker superbly clear and the highs may seem slightly over emphasized but are not.
If you plan to purchase these in search of cold, brutally hard accuracy, plan to use them on stands, console or have calibration software look no further than a set of these!

Ima keep it real with you guys. These monitors are amazing. Sound amazing, detailed, and the mixes translate. A wonderful studio tool and I mean that having owned a lot of monitors.

My problem with them is that I feel they are over priced. These monitors do not exude a price tag. They are very light, insubstantial, a lot of plastic and I just get the vibe that the markup is really high on these. Contrast that to my barefoot footprints which are only around $ more mind you, those absolutely exude a price tag. They are metal rock solid, heavy af from giant magnets and just have a premium vibe along with superior specs and sonics.

If these were more in the $ area it would be an absolute no brainer, I'd recommend em to everyone and I feel like you'd see these everywhere. But as is I just don't feel good about buying them. And when people ask me about em I tell em I love them but like maybe just save bucks and get something objectively better?

Just my two cents these would fly off the shelf if they were better priced

Still if your willing to shell out for em I'm certain you'll do amazing work on them.

Absolutely the best sounding & looking speakers I've used for studio project mixing in 30 years of recording. I may buy a 2nd pair. Fantastic detail and separation of tracks. VERY wide and open sound. Hand made quality.

Was wanting some Focal Be6's to replace my Event monitors. Hear from some people that, while Focals were world class monitors, they tended to put some "lipstick" on the sound. I went ahead and spent the money for the result6 6.5 active near field monitors. Wow. Clinical....no coloration. At all. The detail in the middle and upper miss as well as the tight but not overemphasized bass, was astounding. I was hearing mistakes in Grammy winning records. Monitors for good mixing is probably the weak link in most consumer home studios. Not with these babies. They WILL improve your mix.
Period.

I've been working with these now for about a year. They are quite detailed across the whole spectrum. They wouldn't be the first choice for just casual listening, but for critical applications like mixing, they reveal balance in a way that translates very quickly to other sources. If the mix sounds good on these, it will sound good everywhere. What is most impressive is how easy it is to balance the low and low mids on these, and how well they reveal stereo image for mid-side EQ.

I would buy these again and again, thankfully I just need 1 pair.

Very detailed monitors with a wide "sweetspot". Very good translation. When combined with top tier DAC and cables, you hear the source not the monitors.
Do NOT lay them horizontally (on their side). They must be upright and at the right height in order to be within the sweetspot.

The soundstage is amazing and the low end is tight and outta sight!

Compared these monitors to several other popular choices in this price range including the Focal solo6.
After spending tremendous amount of time listening to my various options. Nothing even came close to the performance of these
monitors. I tested them in two ways. First I extensively listened to high quality recordings I was familiar with.The second method was to actually to track and mix my own material on them. This is where they blew the competition away as when you are recording your own voice, guitars and piano you know exactly how they should sound. I found the PMC to be incredible accurate and closest to the actual sound of the instruments in the room.
although they mostly will get used for recording and mixing, I also like my monitors to listen to other people's work as you can a learn a lot about mixing from doing this. I heard clarity and detail in songs I was very familiar with that I never noticed before. These monitors just sound amazing even when I am not using them for projects they suck me into listening to music for hours on end never fatiguing just addicting !!!! This is one of those purchases that inspires you all over again. Special thanks to the team at Sweetwater who always make buying gear stress free!!!!

Over the past 20 years I've had six pairs of near field monitors. (trying to fine that monitor that works best in a smallish room) They all sounded pretty good but I was always looking for a little better. I decided that one of the monitor pairs I had in 2006 was the monitors that were probably the best monitors out of the six pairs. They were the most expensive out of the six pairs. (go figure) They were the coolest looking monitors. Got to have that cool factor. Called my man Steven Graham @ Sweetwater to make my move and pull the trigger, and he throws a wrench in all my well thought out plans. The whole time he was talking about the PMC's, in the back of my mind I was thinking about how much it was going to cost me to ship them back to Sweetwater if they didn't work for me. The PMC's are a little pricy, but when I think about the money I spent on the other monitors over the years I wish they were available 20 years ago. These monitor kick serious butt!! Thanks Steve

I really don't even wanna say how much I like these because I don't really want anyone else having them. I want them all for myself. The stereo space is incredible, the clarity has had me finding flaws for a few days in every hit song, as I familiarize with the new monitors. Just great.

After 10 years with a pair of JBL LSR 2328's I decided it was time to upgrade my monitors. I tried out a pair that I won't mention and they were a disappointment. Of course Sweetwater makes it easy to return and back they went. Next up the PMC's. WOW. I bought demo's so they were broken in when they arrived and immediately my mixes came to life. I could hear everything well separated and easy to identify areas that needed attention. For a 6.5" driver the bass is clear, extended and precise. I can't recommend them enough. And Sweetwater's customer service is second to none. Thank you Nate and thank you PMC for building a fantastic monitor at an affordable price.

The Result 6 replaced my NS-10's. I am very happy with these monitors. No ear fatigue, amazing bass response, transparent highs and great mids. A very flat response . Whatever I mix on these monitors translates perfectly to other sound sources. The technology behind these speakers are years and years of PMC's experience that makes them cream of the crop when it comes to studio monitors. I highly recommend them !!

I can't even listen to my NS-10's anymore.
