Stereo with volume control!
...I didn't need tap tempo, subdivisions or the long delay times. I do think it's a great sounding pedal that would be ideal for a primary delay. Another delay with modulation, different voicings, etc. could be used for lead with this one just left on all the time.
That volume knob thing. I think this is a great feature and the one that almost made me pull the trigger. It does go greater than unity, but not such that I would call it a boost. It could used for lead tones, or conversely, be set lower than unity and the pedal switched off for leads. The reason I love the volume knob is that I would have a global volume control, after the gain pedals, that wouldn't mess up the stereo balance. Brilliant! I don't see why T Rex doesn't make more of this feature.
To summarize... I didn't need the long delay times, tap feature, subdivisions or even the on/off switch. Just a straight up stereo delay with a volume knob.
Does the thing
I love it, i got it to replace my T-REX tap tone on an overcrowded board. I also have gotten a recent obsession for stereo, and was hoping to add to that with this. One thing worth noting is that i was really looking forward to some really cool stereo pinging and ponging between left and right but this pedal doesnt do that at all, hooking it up stereo ins and outs just provides you with two seperate delay paths, which is squeaky clean and all but i wanted the trip ailen noises bouncing around me. Still, my stereo electric mistress going into it provides cool stereo delay wierdness. Aside from all of that, its a great pedal, the tap divider is nice, it is the size it should be and not strangely massive like some pedals out there, and sounds really nice and clean, i just wish it had ping pong. Great pedal though, and perfect for a board, because they always get too crowded.
P.S. Why is there a volume knob? Goofy danes...
Does the job, but don't buy it for your stereo obsession
I was infatuated with this pedal as soon as i saw it, stereo, with subdividing tap tempo and small enough to fit into that spot where my current delay pedal was hanging off my pedalboard.
But, alas, not as sweet as my expectations.
First off, i have a stereo craving, and was looking forward to having delays bouncing around me until i got dizzy. But this was not so. It is stereo, but has no stereo effect whatsoever, it just pretends to be two channels of identical delay... Which is cool i guess but not at all what i was looking for.
Second, why in the name of music and all that is holy is there a volume knob on it? WHY!? Why does a delay need a master volume knob, which you can only turn down, because at top volume is the signal level that is going into it. Useless knob, especially when there could have been a bite knob like on the tap tone, the t rex pedal that it replaced, and was replaced by.
I thought i had a third complaint, but i dont, those other two ruined it for me, and i am unsatisfied.
