Great little unit.

By Bob from Milwaukee on May 31, 2023 Music Background: Composer, musician, multi-instrumentalist, retired.

I bought it for a little different change. I had a cheap one from Amazon but this little guy is real good. It is well worth the money if you want a good wireless for your guitar. I wish I'd bought this in the first place.

Works perfectly. Thanks Jeff and Sweetwater!

By Steve from Gettysburg, PA on January 6, 2023 Music Background: living room noodler for 50 years

I bought the GT10 after discussing options with Jeff, and I couldn't be happier. The relay works with my older Loudbox Mini (no bluetooth), and the transmitter pairs perfectly with my THR30ii. The service I received from Jeff was truly excellent. This was my first purchase from Sweetwater, and certainly not my last. Thanks again!

The product is reliable, always work well.

Thanks Eric for your help.

I own a second one

By Sweetwater Customer on May 1, 2022

I noticed for a reason that sound doesn't transmitted the same way as the first gen.. these new one even the color is different but at first I just thought was just a color they gave it, but turns out that the sound is different some chords are not picked up like don't have the power or else to bringing all the chord sound some chords of course but some others like volume also is decrease so, my final experience to this new gen of Relay is "ok" for the must part.. from 1-10 I give'em a 7.

I Love It

By Sweetwater Customer on March 7, 2022

I have used the Line 6 Relay G10 for about three years and many gigs, plus I use it at home too. So I have put it though many many hours of use. Never had a problem, it has a good range, usually I keep the receiver on the floor next to my pedalboard and this has always worked well for me.

After three years and many recharges I'm starting to notice that the battery life isn't quite as long as it once was so I will likely buy a new transmitter soon and keep the old one as a backup.

The one change I would make if it were up to me is the power cable, I've read that some people say it gets loose, and it can I suppose if you don't take care of it, personally I haven't had a problem but you have to use some common sense and not abuse it. Other than that it is great.

Line 6 relay G10ll wireless guitar system

By Dan from Columbus Ohio on February 27, 2022 Music Background: Play all stringed instruments.

This money well spent. It's simple to setup right out of the box. The range is great. Just have wait to turn on if there's another line 6 but not a big deal.I would recommend to everyone.

The easiest system ever!

By Richard Hicks from La Center, KY on January 11, 2022 Music Background: Rhythm guitar/Church Praise and Worship Leader

I have used a few different wireless systems over the years. All of them required syncing and matching channels and frequencies. For my limited understanding, sometimes it was difficult to get it right. But this system is a "no muss, no fuss" system that does all the work for you! I thought, "It can't be that easy!" But it is! And there's no belt pack! No wires to ever need soldering, no replaceable batteries to go dead on you in the middle of your performance! Once the rechargeable transmitter is charged up, and the receiver is connected to the PA system, simply plug ithe transmitter into your guitar and play! The quality of the sound is excellent! I highly recommend this system!

I like it

By Joe from Southern Indiana on November 29, 2021 Music Background: I just play guitar at home mostly.

This is the only wireless system I've tried, so I can't compare it to others, but I will say that this beats messing with a bunch of cables, and having them all over the living room floor. I was expecting a loss of sound quality, but there does not seem to be one; it sounds just the same to me.

Love it!

By Sweetwater Customer on November 15, 2021 Music Background: Professional musician

I use three of these for guitars during our live shows. The tone is wonderful and have never had a connection issue ever.

Great product!!!

Works great. Contacted line 6 customer support and all is good.

Great product!

By Sweetwater Customer on June 18, 2021

I've been playing guitar for 30 years and never had a wireless system. I can't describe how happy I am with this product. Very easy to set-up, just plugged the receiver/charger into the wall, then my pedal board into the back. Then plugged the small adapter into my guitar and it was up and going. Could walk all through my house playing, no delay or loss of signal. It feels like this is how the guitar was meant to be played. My highest recommendation for this product, both for performance and ease of set-up.

best thing ever.

By robert griffiths from Minneapolis, MN on June 5, 2021 Music Background: bobby and christine

no chords, fantastic reliability......this is one of my favorite guitar things ever....

Works for me.

By Steve from Annapolis,MD on March 29, 2023 Music Background: 50 yrs playing.

I did have some problems initially, the unit would cut out intermittently ,but Line 6 customer service sent me a replacement rather quickly. Been using for a few years in my studio/office without problems.

I'm FREE!

By John LiMarzi from Sarasota, FL on January 9, 2023 Music Background: Intermediate guitar; amateur groups/

What. nice unit. Very simple to use and no latency. I can move ll round the house, or stage and maintain contact. It does not interfere with other electronics. Two issues; sometimes you have to reinsert the transmitter into the receiver a couple go times to make good contact and the "on/off" plunger switch does NOT work with my Gretsch. Somehow the jack, when inserted, is not deep enough for the plunger to make contact. Fixed by using a steel washer on the jack to mate the female jack sleeve on the giuitar to the plunger switch. LINE 6 needs to change the switch.

Crystal clear sound

By Brad from Henderson, NV on December 31, 2021

This reproduces crystal clear sound. Really like that the transmitter is rechargeable when stored in the base unit.

Power source

By Jose Ortiz from Pembroke Pines, FL on December 15, 2023

The way of the power source plug into the receiver is a disgrace. I think is time to Line 6 to change the plug for an stronger system.
In other way this small wireless it's fenomenal !!

Nearly Perfect

By Josh from Nashville on October 10, 2023 Music Background: Professional Touring Guitarist, Producer

First off, I love this thing (1st gen) and have used it for 5 years now locally and on the road. The sound quality is impeccable. I did tests recording with it vs a cable and the only difference I noticed was the tiniest dip right around 4k, no biggie. The device isn't a 10, more like a great 8.5 for my needs. I've owned multiple of these; they don't last forever under full-time gigging…what does though. Haven't had any issues with the jack coming loose. Device holds up on all but the largest stages. Only have run into issues when attempting to use in arenas. Works at soundcheck but would drop out if I was further than about 6-7 feet from the receiver during shows. Works fine at festivals though in my experience, go figure. Battery life is amazing and it charges ridiculously fast. The only real downside is the charging port. For some particular reason, that thing is a steaming, stinking pile of dog turd. Overall a great purchase, and will especially last if not taken on the road.

I love this thing!

By Gary s Birnhak on September 14, 2023

First tried it at an open mic and was hooked. Now I have my own. I can't compare this to the more expensive setups and when it has been used, there were no other wireless setups in use so can't comment on any interference.

USB Power Connection is unreliable

By Jerry H from Arkansas on March 31, 2022

Works good if you can keep power connected. The micro USB connection for power is unreliable and will fail. Poor design. I do not recommend this product.

Not bad but could be better

By Steven from Saint Paul, MN on November 17, 2021

Works really well except for ibanez? Read online that some instruments aren't grounded so it won't work unless you have an extension cable. Less obstruction would be nice so it doesn't break on your leg as easily. Plays great on all my instruments except my brand new ibanez bass.

Good enough.

By Sweetwater Customer from Texas on June 18, 2021

Works as advertised with barely enough distance for what is needed before it starts breaking up. Battery life is very good so far. Hopefully it will have a good life span before Line 6 adds it to its legacy products (not supported anymore, you have to buy or newest).

Awesome sound

By Angela Terry from Washington on April 25, 2021 Music Background: Bassist of 6 years

I love almost everything about this product, it makes you sound so much louder and warmer. Stays charged a long time and charges fast, what I don't like is the charge port where the mini USB plugs into is horribly loose. I've had to replace 2 because it broke and forget soldering this part its TINY!

Line 6 Spider relay G1011

By Roger Jerrell from LINTON, IN on January 24, 2023

I'm having a great time with my G1011 is great I really enjoy using it. I'm in a wheelchair and it's great not running over the cable

Awesome product except

By Brad on June 13, 2021

This is such an awesome product except the tiny usb charming port is really horrible. It is going to get loose and make charging spotty if the slightest breeze hits it. That's already happened to mine with little use.

Line 6 wireless

By Francisco Martinez on December 27, 2022

Lo compre hace como un year aproximadamente. Es bueno pero es solo 50 porcientoinalambrico ya que para que funcione tienes que mantener conectada la base a la corriente y el conector o puerto de carga es tipo androide antiguo y es de mala calidad.

It works decent, it’s ok, line of sight use

By Larry from Indiana on December 20, 2022 Music Background: Retired “arthritic, messing around” player

I m gonna say this is decent. Workable.
Range is short (25') in the house around walls. Transmitter worked with my Yamaha amp, and base also worked with the G10 transmitter I got with Yamaha amp. The Yamaha amp charges the transmitter of this unit also. On a stage range may be better. It's a decent system, but make sure you have 2 transmitters. My old, bought used Samson AP1 with "dog ear base" and "mouse w/ a tail" transmitter" is 12 years old and works just as well and has sound adjustment for acoustic & electric guitars. This does not. But the sound quality may be a bit better than my old Samson unit. All in all, satisfied. But look around and make sure you can return if you don't like it for something else!

Shorting out

By Sweetwater Customer on August 7, 2022

Worked good for about 1year ,then started shorting out , i would have sent back but the customer service was very rude..so just marked i at a bad product.

You'd think they would upgrade

By Edwin Pringle from Okeechobee, Florida on July 1, 2022 Music Background: Been playing for over 50 years.

I have bought two of the g10 due to the first one the USB port screwed up. The second one is still working but you have to find a good fitting USB cable. They are not too dependable. Then I also bought the g10s which was supposed to be an upgrade with the regular power supply. I thought they finally figured it out but boy howdy was I wrong. You can't get 10 feet away from it unless you're at a perfect angle or you lose reception. Definitely not dependable enough for live use. I thought they had a winner but it needs some work. Could definitely be improved as it has potential. The first one I bought was a good one until the USB port started screwing up.

I Won't buy it....sorry..

By Keith from Winooski Vermont on November 7, 2021 Music Background: Gig N' Musician

I have the G-10 I liked the unit Except for that stupid micro cable port on the base that gets loose, definitely not for the working musicians..
We all complained about this poor manufacturers issue but apparently no one listened to us..some even did their own mods by putting in a power jack to remedy the problem...I see there have been no update on this one..so I'm sure if that was fixed you would have more sales ..maybe on the future G-10-3 you could update this for the working musicians.

Going Wireless

By Sweetwater Customer from OR on March 19, 2022

Base charges batteries.. I don't use it for anything but that.. the G10S(1) is flakey (next level up) when charging.. bugs me a lot..
be wary of these devices, they are inexpensive, but they have issues.. the G10S(2) is supposed to be better.. (Read my review on that one).

Line 6 Relay

By David Lyons from Monticello, KY on September 17, 2021

I'm a big fan of Line 6 wireless systems; however, I Bought the Line 6 Relay G10ii a month ago and it is already cutting out due to the power cord being loose at the base. This is an "in line" system that requires connection to the amp and a power source. The power cord will not stay in the base. I used a similar line 6 system for 6 years with not problems until the same problem occurred. I was hoping to get at least a few years out of the new system....

Micro USB Power Connector Failure Point

By Sweetwater Customer from FL on October 25, 2023 Music Background: Lead Sound Tech

I bought one of these (G10) for our church's bassist. back in late 2016. It worked for about 3-4 months, then the power connector gave up. It is just too flimsy for even twice a week's use.
I am very surprised the that new unit has the same flimsy designed Micro USB power port on the receiver.

skip it

By PC from Rochester NY on July 20, 2023

This unit works great until the power supply connection breaks. It's incredibly fragile. When it fails and you open the unit, soldering iron in hand, you'll be surprised that anyone thought the connector was a good plan. I'd pick something else.

Great concept; poor execution

By Andrew Todd from Ladera Ranch, CA on March 7, 2023

A potentially great product with a fatal flaw: The USB port on the back (which provides power to the unit) is built in such a way that it is easy to snap off the cable. The connector doesn't even seat all the way in the back of the unit (using the factory provided cable and trying others as well).

Also, the port does not provide a good connection, so you'll get intermittent dropouts that have gotten worse over time. I've had mine for about a year, it's never left the studio and has been plugged in the whole time. I still can't maintain a power connection.

In no way would I ever recommend to anyone that they take this thing to a gig. It wouldn't get you through your first set.

Sad purchase. :(

Works great until it did not-

By Edward D from Boston on January 13, 2023 Music Background: Pro- songwriter

This product is for home use only set it in one spot DO NOT MOVE IT. Why? The usb Connector to charge it is total junk- My unit will no longer take a charge as the input to charge it is made of cheap metal. Sad because Line 6 is owned by Yamaha
I believe, who I like, but this product is junk. I noticed now they allow 9 V round plugs to charge the new version of this product. Took all us idiots out here that bought the G 10 to teach them that USB plugs are garbage! No more Line 6 products for me. I am done!

Not good enough

By Joel on September 29, 2022 Music Background: Amateur bassist

I bought the 1st generation G10 in May 2021. It conked out in 6 weeks and it turns out it was under recall anyway. Sweetwater quickly replaced that one with a 2nd gen unit. Within a few weeks, it (the receiver) was "shorting out" but still operable as long as I didn't touch the microUSB cable or move it. Or look at it the wrong way, for that matter. This is likely due to a terrible design of the microUSB connector that we've all seen before on other devices like certain mobile phones, for example. I haven't opened up the unit, but I can pretty much guarantee they've soldered the microUSB receptacle onto a circuit board and haven't provided adequate (or any) means of support for the reaction against the force you need to apply to push in the cable, other than the reaction provided by the solder joint itself. So of course the solder joint is going to give out sooner or later. (Looks like sooner for many of us reviewers here.)

Now, as of this morning, 13 months since I received it and having just been operating fine earlier in the week, the G10TII transmitter won't charge at all. I have the transmitter in my pedal board and play maybe 6 gigs per year, so mostly it just sits there in my basement, as it has been all week since I last played for a few minutes. But even when I do move it, it gets treated very nicely, as it is snugly connected to the pedalboard.

At the same time I bought the G10, I bought a Donner DZ wireless guitar transmitter/receiver pair (not available on Sweetwater, unfortunately). I've been using them as a cheap solution for wireless in-ears. The transmitter in that case is connected to a Behringer MA400 personal monitor, also on the pedal board, and the receiver connects to a Behringer PM2 on my belt. So the G10 receiver and the Donner transmitter are sitting together on the same pedal board. Unfortunately, unless I'm standing right in front of my pedalboard, the G10 can't deal with the Donner's wireless signal, but the Donner doesn't care at all about the presence of the G10.

On the plus side, the G10 is very simple to set up and use. And I love the fact that AA batteries are not needed. I can't tell the difference between a cord and this wireless solution, although there is probably some difference there for people with better hearing than me. Also, I like very much how I can pull the transmitter out of one instrument to switch it to another without generating a crackle in the amp. I don't know how they do that, but it's nice. The Donner DZ generates a crackle just like unplugging a cord would. The Donner is also more likely to generate a high-pitch whine in my amp and/or the PA than the G10. This is venue-dependent and probably also exacerbated by some other pedal in my chain. The whine is not terrible, but not quiet enough most of the time for me to be wireless when I play live.

So on balance, if you are very careful with the unit and get lucky with their quality control, the G10 might be just fine for your purposes. For me, I'm done with it. At one quarter the cost, I'll just buy another pair of Donner DZs. I'm a bit surprised and disappointed that Line 6/Yamaha hasn't been able to get this right in two tries.

Great Tone, Great reception but this WAS the second one I bought...

By Rick Balentine from Charlotte, NC on March 3, 2022 Music Background: Pro

It all comes down to the power plug in the back after a few months wont stay in, therefore also wont charge. Happened on both units. I love the sound so may buy the step up with a true 9v plugin, which still scares me a little.

Major design flaw

By Sweetwater Customer on January 14, 2022

This unit was perfect until it quit working. The power USB port is a terrible design and a deal breaker. Unbelievable that Line 6 has not addressed this issue after years of this being a common problem among many others including myself. If this issue was fixed, I'd buy another today. I was really that happy with it. If you have one and the micro USB port hasn't broken. Be patient, it will. Totally useless design for gig work.

Functions well... when it works

By Ryan Cox from Fort Wayne, IN on December 30, 2021 Music Background: Professional Amatuer Guitar Player

This works well, sounds and responds as if you are plugged in with a landline, but without the tangle, limited range, and other things that come along with a cable. Problem is they seem to be having battery issues. I bought the first one ( G10 version I) on 5-10-21 and it stopped working after a few weeks. Called Greg at SW and he said bring it in to exchange. Got the new one on 6-29-21 (They gave me V2 - Awesome!!!) Problem is, the second one also stopped working in November, with an apparent battery issue - wouldn't take a charge. So this time I contacted Line 6 and they took care of it by sending me a return shipping label to return the plug. Been waiting over a month to get the new one. I would not recommend this at this time.

Nice wireless when it works

By Thomas Kraft from Tavares, FL on October 14, 2021 Music Background: professional musician

I bought one years ago and it worked great, then over the last two years the power cords connection started getting loose which in turn I was losing signal, it got so bad I couldn't use any more, I bought a newer one hoping they fixed the power cord problem and the first time I used it, it was a cutting out, great wireless when it works, I'm surprised they haven't come up with a better solution for that power cord, I have friends who had the same problem!

I warned you

By Chris Dengler on December 12, 2023

I bought one of these, and now it doesn't work. I contacted Line6 and they said, "Sorry to hear that you are dealing with this. Based on the age of your system, it appears that the transmitter has reached the end of its functional life. The lithium batteries in those are good for a certain number of charges before the battery starts to wear out. Most users get an average of 3-5 years of use from the average transmitter depending on various factors. We would recommend purchasing a new transmitter for your system."

So, basically you're buying a TEMPORARY wireless solution (3-5 years). I'll never purchase another Line6 product again as long as I live. Give me a break... I only used this thing twice.

Poorly made

By Paul wilson from Greenville SC on August 7, 2023 Music Background: 51 years

More China junk. Weak chargeing port. I have had 2 of these, the concept is great. The execution blows chunks. Lasted 2 years. They cannot be repaired. Cant buy parts even if you have the skill. Don't waste your time or money.

Worst product I have ever purchased

By Bernie from North Carolina on January 12, 2023 Music Background: Singer, Guitarist, Songwriter, Performer, Recording Artist.

Either I got a Lemon or Line 6 has people working for them overtime to write good reviews for this product. I've had this system for 1 year. Right out of the box..... 50ft radius my ***. 20 on a good day and yes, no obstructions. After a few months, this "micro usb" power connecter they use..... Tiny connection that i have to fiddle with for minutes to get it to power on and Hope it doesn't disconnect during a show. And it has many times. Finally, recent months, charge lasts 45 minutes at best.

Basically I received 180 degree opposite of what was advertised. I have performed for 35 years In the largest venues in the North East has to offer. Tens of Thousands of shows. I have NEVER written a bad review for a piece of equipment. This thing really let me down. Horrible engineering. Avoid it.

Broken power connector

By Daniel Welter from Bellevue, WA on December 23, 2022

The micro USB-B power connector was unstable out of the box.
I could wiggle the connector and the power would go on, but let go and it was off.

DO NOT BUY THIS JUNK

By Luis M Beyra from Miami, FL on December 8, 2022

Not only they are build very cheap but updating the unit is impossible. Will not recognized the unit on your computer, The Line 6 software updater is a joke and will not install or update anyting,,,,it will not recognized the unit. they want you to purchase a unit everytime it does not work. The software fireware update will not open under any circumstances.

These work great until they dont

By Stanislav Livshin from Garwood, NJ on September 6, 2022

Had 3 of these all of which failed within a year. They are not reliable and all break pretty quickly.

avoid the line 6 relay g 10

By Sweetwater Customer from Pennsylvania on January 20, 2022

i gave it one star because no stars was not an option. the power connection to the base gets loose and when it does there is no signal. not reliable at all. i see this is a common problem for other users.

Should be recalled

By Sweetwater Customer on December 19, 2021

As any other have written, the power port on the charger/receiver started flaking out on me 2 days after I got it. The wind blows wrong and it goes out. Terrible design choice. They have introduced V2 a newer (more expensive) version, but for some reason they still allow this to be sold.

This thing is terrible!

By Karl McCoy from Midland, TX on November 16, 2021 Music Background: Worship, cover bands, studio

I thought this would be at least decent but it is a waste of money. Big issue, the power supply on the receiver is so noisy it would not pass muster in any venue I play. Another big issue is the weight of the transmitter; if plugged in on the bottom of an instrument it will lose contact if you happen to move while playing (no stage performance allowed).

crap battery and still using the old lousy charger plug vs something more up to date like lightning cable

By hans christeler from Clinton, NY on October 30, 2021

lasted about 1.5 years, then the transmitter started lasting about 1/2 an hour before it needed charging, and of course the power cable receptical on the base unit started getting finicky... Im sorry, but cables rule.
