Mesa/Boogie Rectifier Standard 4x12" - 240-watt 4x12" Angled Extension Cabinet Reviews
The Mesa/Boogie 4x12 Rectifier Standard Slant speaker cabinet gives you that thunderous low end you crave. One of Mesa/Boogie's most popular cabinets — and a flat-out icon in heavy music — the Mesa/Boogie 4x12 Rectifier Standard Slant is massive sounding. This is the one you've heard used on countless hit records — and the one you've seen onstage with countless leading acts. Why? Not only is it tour-rugged, but it's larger than most other 4x12" speaker cabinets, so you get that signature menacing low end from the Mesa/Boogie 4x12 Rectifier Standard Slant.

Absolutely Amazing
It's the best for a reason, this cab sounds amazing. It arrived in perfect condition and on time. Shout out to my sales rep Chris, he always takes care of me.
Mesa cab
I recently bought a Mesa Boogie 120 watt 4 channel rectifier head and needed a cab. I spent months shopping only to realize they were back-ordered and it didn't look good for me. So, after trying Musicians friend for 6 months to no avail I was giving up hope and started to buy a Peavey. I really wanted the Celestion speakers. I saw an ad from Sweetwater and I knew it was going to be a order now thing and we'll let you know when it comes, but? They not only had 1 but had it shipped in 2 days free!!!! A guy on Ebay had a thrashed one and wanted 600 dollars to ship. This cab came NEW with casters and cover. I plugged into the head and ...well....was blown away. This cab sounds exactly the way I wanted. A punch in the face with some gain. It is amazing......THANK YOU SWEETWATER....YOU NOW HAVE ALL MY BUSINESS.

Outstanding Cab
The wait……If one has patience, this is the best built, best sounding cab I have ever had. There is not even a close 2nd. I started decades ago with Custom which died. Replaced with a stack and a half if Custom Fenders which were a lousy match for my Les Paul. Out the door they went with the ART effects. I bought a solidstate Marshall 8200? with a 1960 4X12 cab. Better until I blew the amp up 3 times. Out the door it went. Purchased a Peavey 60/60 stereo tube rack mount head with Peavy Tube Fex. Much better but little did I know. Purchased a Peavey graphic equalizer for road rack, better still and added another Marshall 1960 4X12. Awesome sound but little did I know. I am still using the above setup for my Marshall cabs. This year I bought my first Mesa Boogie a JP2C+ but had to run it through my stack of Marshalls without any additional effects. Whoa…Awesome tone in all 3 channels. I had a 2 1/2 month wait for my MB Rectifier 4X12 V30 Std. cab to arrive. This combo is the game changer! Superior cleans on channel 1, immaculate overdrive/rythem and tone, tone, tone. Just dial up what you need! Now Channel 3. Identical to Channel 2 but I use it for my leads with the shred engaged. I had been looking for this sound for decades and can dial up any tone, change in the fly, and crush it everytime. Thanks to Gahrett Kidd for his expertise, patience, and professionalism in getting this and many orders complete. Thank you Sweetwater.
Holy S@#T!!!
If you are a fan of super heavy metal tones with THUNDEROUS lows, and amazing clarity then look no further! This specific cabinet is featured on countless metal albums throughout the years, so if you want that Chimaira and Machine Head type low end end punch this is THE cabinet. This thing will blow you away.
The Standard
The 4x12 Rectifier Standard has been my go-to guitar cab, since I bought my first used in 2007, and haven't turned back. This cab is the standard for V30s. Thanks, to Jason Thiele & Sweetwater for the constant great customer service! I always look forward to purchasing from Jason. Sweetwater, give this man a raise!
Favorite Cab
Easily, my go-to guitar cab with V30s. My first rectifier standard was purchased, used in 2007. This is my first brand new, and it's everything that I expected. Most importantly, Jason Thiele is the best!!! His customer service is next to none! Please, give this man a raise!
TOTAL QUALITY!
This Mesa Boogie 4x12 is unlike anything I have ever played through before. I coupled it with a Peavey 6505+ high gain amplifier and this combination is amazing and perfect for my metal taste. The low end this cab delivers is intense and I feel these Vintage 30s flowing through me every time I jam through it.
Mesa always ensures they deliver total quality amps and cabs. This is what we are paying for and I was tired of settling on something when this was all I needed. Thanks to Sweetwater for making sure the shipping and receiving went smoothly. I love this cabinet!!
Awesome!!
This cabinet has great tone ! Has that low end punch I was looking for ! Playing through a Mesa TC100, you can't go wrong! Definitely best investment I ever made! Great service as well, they are experienced and know their business! Thanks again Sweetwater!!
Recto 4x12
Mesa cabs are some of the best made. Solid build and great sound. I have tried it with several different brand amps and they all sound good thru this cab. I did some speaker wire comparisons using this cab and found the fullest sound was from a Monster Studio Pro 2000 speaker cable. Just great tone.
Christmas present for my husband
My husband asked for this for his Christmas present. He absolutely loves it! It's very loud, sounds great!
Superb 4x12!
This is a fantastic cab. Solid construction, great looks, built-in casters, free cover all make this a 'top of the line' cab- but the sound is AMAZING!! Makes a perfect pairing with my Mesa Boogie Mark V 35. HUGE shout out to my rep David Winkert who always helps me find the right item I need. I AM LOVING THIS CAB!!!!!!!!
Excellent
This cabinet is used with a Karl Sanders Dean guitar that has a Seymour Duncan Invader bridge pickup and a mini rectifier head. This cab handles a sincerely mean sound with very very big strings in dropped A-FLAT. This cab is very clear and worth every penny. This cab came with a Mesa logo cover and the wheels are already installed. Packaged well.
It’s a Mesa. Plain and simple
This cab doesn't need an introduction. It's a Mesa. Enough said.
I'm using this with a 2020 Black Jute Triple Rectifier and a Peavey Invective.
It doesn't get any better than this.
You get what you pay for.
First of all, I have to give huge thanks to Nick, Robert, and the rest of the Sweetwater staff for going above an beyond to get this shipped out.
Mesa is the best for a reason. I bought this for a new Tripe Rectifier but also to use with a 6505+ and an Invective. I can't describe how awesome this cab sounds. I've been playing for about 20 years and I have traditionally used what ever I could find that was cheap. I finally spent the money on a real rig and it's as if I graduated to another level. They are pricey but worth every penny.
Yes, it lives up to the hype.
I have heard for years that the Mesa Rectifier oversize 4x12 cabinets are the standard for heavy music. I kinda took that with a grain of salt. On a recent vacation/gear safari, I had the opportunity to play thru one of these, albeit a very used one. I was amazed at the tone. Even more so after noticing, upon closer inspection, that all that awesomeness was coming out of ONE SPEAKER! My first thought right them and there..... Sweetwater! As soon as I got home I looked this up, slept on it and promptly ordered this cab the next morning. Today I finally had a chance to really open this up with a couple of guitars..... I am flabbergasted. It's jaw dropping tone, even at lower volume. Open it up and this thing roars to an indescribable satisfaction. Yes, it lives up to the hype.
Thanks to my Sweetwater rep Rob Parker for taking great care of me as he always does!
Ps. I am playing a 20w Peavey 6505mh. Cannot wait to get my Engl Fireball 100 delivered.\,,/

Awesome Customer Service
Bought a Mesa Boogie 4 x 12. Soon as I purchased online they called to verify my order and to ask questions about purchase, shipment, etc. They made sure I was truly satisfied with my order. Even checked in again after I received it. I wouldn't hesitate to buy from them in the future. Thanks Sweetwater
Everyone uses them for a reason
This cab is the standard by which all other cabs should be measured. For one it has proprietary voiced V30s from celestion. And aside from a few select marshalls this is the only way for you to get Vintage 30's that are still made in england. The chinese speakers are good but these just sound fantastic. I play mostly metal and its no secret that many many bands use this cab. And for good reason. They sound amazing. Even if your not into the sound of mesa amplifiers the sound and quality of this cab cant be denied. How many 6505 cabs have you seen on stages lately? Not many. But most of the time you will see that bands 6505 sitting on one of these. Great mids, great definition. I had a sound that was in my head for a very very long time and through countless amps and pedals I finally gave this cab a shot and nailed it. This is one of the few products on the market today that is being used by darn near everyone and isnt sitting on one single ounce of hype. Its the real deal.
Untouchable
Mesa Amps aside, there is not much to say about this. Even people who don't like Mesa's amps know that there is just something about this cab that others don't have. It's true, to be frank, it's just got more balls and it is very articulate. They're the best cab for any musical background. Other cab's simply can't produce the kind of magic this thing does, it's untouchable.
Mesa Rectifier 4 x 12 Partial Review
Background: I recently received my new 4 x 12 Mesa Rectifier Cab from Sweetwater. I bought the Mesa as an upgrade from my beloved EHV 2 x 12 cab. I was able to perform a side by side comparison between the two cabs and the difference (to me) was pretty dramatic. A great advantage of this comparison/test of mine is that it was conducted where I normally play at home - not in a crowded, noisy showroom. Please note that this review is only my opinion, so I'll let you know up front that I'm not an expert by any means and consider myself as a marginal guitar player. I did not utilize any testing instruments such as a spectrum analyzer, dB meter, etc... This is only a partial review. I'm not addressing other things such as costs, construction/specs, etc... What this comparison does address is my perception of the tonal quality for two very different cabs.
The Setup: I used an EVH EL34 100W amp to drive each of the cabs. The guitar I used was a Telecaster Modern Player Plus (great guitar). The two cabs were hooked up in the same room and I stood the same distance from each cab (about 10 ft away) during the two separate tests. The amp and guitar settings were not changed for both tests, with the exception of the amp impedance settings being changed from 16 ohms for the EVH to 8 ohms for the Mesa.
Please trust me when I say that I loved my EVH 2 x 12 cab. It is great for what it is and really, it's probably unfair to compare it to a 4 x 12 cab. But, as I said, I bought the 4 x 12 as an upgrade and it seemed only right to compare the two cabs to help justify my outlay of cash for the new Mesa.
The Test: (Note: I know some of you skipped directly down to this part - you know who you are!) I believe that the construction differences of the internal volume for the two cabs made a marked difference in the enhanced low-end frequencies for the Mesa cab. No, I don't have any great terms to use to describe the low end improvement. All I can say is that it was very easily noticed. Also noticed during the test, the upper treble frequencies seemed to be enhanced from the Mesa as well. However, this could be due to the Mesa's upper two woofers firing in an upward fashion. (From what I understand, the upper frequencies are far more directional than the lower frequencies.)
I apologize that this comparison was not more, but take it for what it's worth. I'm very satisfied with the new Mesa and it seems to be well worth the money!
