Mesa badlander

By Jamie Kloss from Brainerd, MN on September 14, 2023

Great head can cover every genre not just metal

Best recto since REV G

By Eric from NJ on March 27, 2023 Music Background: 20+ years

Mesa did this one right. Great clean channel and it has the tightness of the rev C and feel of the rev F/G distortion. Only drawback, this amp has to be cranked to sound as it should. Well done Mesa.

Excellent all around

First amp head I've owned. I've played multiple combo amps and decided to make this my first high end amp head purchase and I love it. I tend to play metal from Metallica to Trivium and this amp can handle it. I run a Horizon Devices, Precision Drive pedal with gain off just to give my tone a a little tighter sound and a use the noise gate but I rarely push the gain all the way on the amp. The other huge plus is you can run an XLR directly from the amp to your computer audio interface with the CloneCabIR which is an excellent option and addition.

One Mesa to rule them all

I've had em all. This Mesa is the one. Get this and you're done. You don't even need speakers!

Beast Mode

This thing is an incredible metal machine that will blow you away. Don't get caught up in the negative reviews if they wanted a dual rectifier they should buy a dual rectifier Mesa still has them in production. If you want an over the top version of a rectifier that leans towards the Mark series and is super tight then this is it.

Amazing Tightness!!

Very Different tonal spectrum than the Rectifiers I've owned in the Past. Its amazingly tight!! It can also get very smooth in the Variac setting..and even smoother still if you use the Variac setting on 20 watts. I paired my Badlander 100 with the 4x12 standard size Mesa cab. It's a great amp, and I believe Mesa created something special.

Awesome amp

I've been reading on here some of you people are complaining it doesn't sound like the original it's not the original it's different if you want the original pull the 34s out put the 6L sixes back in change the speaker back to a 30 and get a tube screamer in front! Abracadabra you have the original again! this is a different voicing Amp what would be the point of remaking the same original over again??

Amazing!

I found my perfect amp, great cleans, great crunch and heavy crunch. I love that it came with the el-34s. Best all round amp I've ever played!

Checks almost all of my boxes

By Robert Lynn from ALTOONA, PA on April 1, 2022

I have played Mesa amplifiers for quite a long time; they've all been built wonderfully. This amplifier is no exception. Rock solid build quality. Two absolutely identical channels with lots of tonal variety. A transparent always on effects loop. The Cab IRs are outstanding. I use this direct to the FoH and I use my cab(s) on stage for me.

The 2 complaints I have: No switch off for the loop (say you have a few pedals in the loop and want to just click them off, you'll need an external solution. Not a deal breaker at all and I'd buy this amp again all day long). Second is no solo boost- this is really a minor minor gripe but I've been used to it from all of my other Mesa amps. A few moves on my board and everything is good.

So about the amp- the good; amazing tones. Tight sounding. I'll play it by itself and I wonder "do I really really love it?" but then in the mix, I want to marry it. It's quickly my favorite amp. Don't be fooled by the "rectifier" brand. It is a different breed.

I love this amp.

Don't be fooled

By Mark Bayles on January 16, 2022

The build quality is there, however this truly lacks the full Range sound that you might expect from the rectifier family of amps. Very weak gain sweep coupled with a very rough mid voicing..save your money and pick up the original ,its still the bench mark.
Sincerely..
