The Classic StingRay with Upgraded Visuals and Electronics

Take a second to gaze at the Sterling by Music Man StingRay RAY34HH’s gorgeous poplar burl top. It’s the kind of stunning instrument that attracts the eyes of other bassists when you’re playing live. For the StingRay RAY34HH, that stunning top is paired with a resonant nyatoh body for a balanced tonal foundation. Plug into your favorite amp, and the two Music Man-designed alnico humbuckers supply you with a powerful, punchy tone. Then, engage the 5-way pickup selector switch and the 3-band EQ to fine-tune your sound to taste. All in all, the Sterling by Music Man StingRay RAY34HH is a formidable addition to any musician’s stable of bass guitars.

Unleash near-limitless sonic potential

Two hard-hitting Music Man-designed humbuckers grace the top of the RAY34HH. They feature alnico magnets and large pole pieces for a vintage-style tone with enough power to thump with the best of them. The built-in 9-volt preamp provides plenty of clean headroom to work with. Plus, the onboard active 3-band EQ enables fine-tuned control over your sound. You’ll also be happy to know that the StingRay RAY34 features a 5-way selector switch, unlocking even more sonic flexibility.

Fluid playability up and down the neck

Ask Sweetwater bassists and they'll tell you that one of their favorite things about the StingRay RAY34HH is its roasted maple neck. Roasting is a process that entails wood being seasoned with high temperatures to release excess moisture, meaning the neck physically weighs less. For the player, this means you experience far less neck dive than you would compared to a standard maple neck. Beyond that, roasted maple is extremely stable and resistant to warping caused by temperature and humidity. With the RAY34HH’s roasted maple neck, you’ll enjoy smooth, dependable playability — no matter where you’re traveling.

Reviews

Amazing Bass
I have absolutely no regrets about purchasing this bass. It delivers a clean sound and allows for quick, versatile tone changes—by far the best I've ever played. I really hope you enjoy yours as much as I do mine!

I love this bass
This beauty sounds fantastic! I hope you love yours, as much as I love mine. Dual humbuckers, with four knobs, and a five position switch give me all the versatility I need.
Music background: novice bassist
Poor Value
The Body and neck of the guitar are fine, no problem. However the preamp hasn't got the necessary headroom for the pickups and requires volume pot to be run at 20 to 30% in order to receive an undistorted signal. Moreover, the tuners are notoriously bad with some users reporting the gears grinding off pieces of metal and in my case, a D string tuner that has a large gap in take-up when up or down tuning. Reinstalling at correct torque, & lubricating the tuner somewhat fixed this. I should not have to replace the preamp and the entire process of diagnostics is not what you are looking for in a brand new bass at this price.
