Vic Firth Rute-X Bundled Sticks - Heavy
Vic Firth Rute-X Bundled Sticks - Heavy Reviews
Versatility is a key factor in Vic Firth's new Rute X Bundled drumstick series. Imagine combining the feel and response of a classic Vic Firth drumstick with the finely engineered volume control and alternative sound of a bundled dowel piece. The result is an extremely adaptable stick that thrives in a variety of playing situations, rimshots and cross-sticking included. Comfortably contoured with a 0.580-inch diameter and a 16.25-inch length, Sweetwater drummers have found Rute X Bundle Sticks keep a low profile, but maintain all the maneuverability you require. They also make a perfect choice for multiple low-volume settings, whether practicing, recording, or grooving along in an acoustic session.
A Joke
Broke the first time I used them. And I'm playing Americana, not Metal. Seems like just fundamental design flaw, being held in place by glue, but who knows. Clearly the marketing people are running the asylum over there because no testing could have been done on these. Same lifecycle as every other company that had a good idea (only shipping actually round drum sticks, and then even pairing them) only to devolve into cheap, over-priced crap. It's a shame because I like the concept. I find the original Promark bundles to feel weird in my hand and have a weird balance, but at least they last for a while.
Yeah…no
They literally disintegrated the first time they were used. They promptly went in the trash. A swing and a miss, VF.
Did not last one song.
These Rute-X bundle Sticks sound amazing and perfect for the number I was doing, unfortunately they broke mid-song and had to switch to sticks. Very disappointed, did not play hard just cymbal, tom and snare work as a background of the song.
nice idea but they don't last
i really like my rute-x RXH... HOWEVER, the rubber bindings came loose, the dowels started coming out (tried superglue), and the dowels broke easily at the base (and i'm not a heavy hitter). i get MUCH longer life out of my promark rods. i'll keep a pair of rute-x in my bag, but at $ a pair, they're too expensive to practice with when they break this quickly.
