If you are a beginner (like me) and looking for a relatively cheap drum set to learn on, you cannot go wrong with the Roadshow. It's got everything you need to get started (drum throne, 2 rack toms, 1 floor tom, stick bag, etc.). Probably not the kit you want to gig with but great for learning and home use. As always, Sweetwater support is the best.

Never played before so I wanted something that was easy to setup and use. Roadshow checks those boxes plus it's a beautiful set.

The drums arrived quickly, and they were easy to set up. We got them for our 8 year old who has been taking lessons for a few years.

It is a solid drum set for newer drummers or small gigs. The cymbals that come with it will get you started but won't last long.

Awesome drum set. The cymbals are kind of cheap, but nice enough for the price. Would recommend replacing the cymbals if you have enough money. The drums are awesome. I use them to play Rock music, and they sound great!

After months of research, I finally settled on the Pearl Roadshow as my first drum kit, and I am so happy with my choice! In my 40s with grown kids and dying to learn the drums for so long...now I don't know why I waited! These sound great to me and the customer service I have received at Sweetwater so far is literally unmatched. From the personal outreach after the order to the amazing shipping time and superb packaging...everything arrived in perfect condition and I was able to set up this kit and be drumming within about 3.5 hours. After a week of learning, I added another crash cymbal from Sweetwater, and again - same level of service, care and delivery. If you are looking to purchase instruments or hardware, Sweetwater is the place, and the Pearl line of drums is a quality choice!

Got this kit for my birthday and my only complaints are the cymbals, the ride is just terrible and its now a crash. I got a different crash/ride and its made a huge difference. the high hats seems alright for rock/metal, probably wont replace them.

Factory heads do not sound good and snare drum is weird

This is a great starting kit. While to new drummers it is pretty expensive, you can expect this to last however long you really want.

Happy to find reasonable price for a complete drum kit without spending a lot. Quality hardware with Pearl. I ended up adding a boom/cymbal but still, price comes in under other kits. Very happy. Sweetwater has outstanding customer service----they telephone you soon after order for a better relationship.

I was referred to Sweetwater by my son's music teacher and it was a wonderful site. Easy to find information, access reviews and had customer services readily available to help. I highly recommend this site to anyone looking for a instrument.

I love this drum kit, I got this for my birthday a year ago and it's a great starter kit! A handful of months later I replaced the drum heads with Remo Coated Emperors on the toms and bass drum and a Remo Emperor X on the snare. I can't tune that well but it sounds great with my tuning skills. I cracked the 16" crash/ride 6 or 7 months after purchasing the kit and replace the cymbals with Zildjian i Series and added a cowbell. Overall I give 5 stars for quality, sound, and value for money, I would and will recommend this kit to anyone looking for something great to start out on. Thank you Pearl and Sweetwater!!!

It's not that bad of a drum set That's what I was thinking but it's not good for people that want to play hardcore metal snare had busted open 3 months in and it seems beautiful since I haven't switched out the heads symbols bend and crack pretty easily so this is for people that want to play classic rock or country you want to do anything heavier than spend a little bit more money and get more expensive set that can take a beating

This kit will fit your needs right out of the box. I'm not a fan of the crash/ride cymbal because it seems weak and lacks a true crash sound, and the ride portion is just the same. The bell, for instance, is quite discouraging. However, with a few tweaks to the kit, such as a few higher quality cymbals and better heads, you will have an almost perfect kit at an affordable price. Overall, I am quite satisfied.

Since my retirement, I thought it would be a blast to pick up another kit just to fool around with. I'm not going to be playing gigs, not in a band, just going to play along with some drumless tracks. Backed up by some vintage floor speakers with 15" woofers and some large Bose speakers-it works.

Considering the above I wanted to just pick up an all in one kit from a well-known manufacturer. My previous kit was from Ludwig but I wanted something different. Sweetwater had this Pearl kit for... a great price.

Like any "all-in-one" kit, these are geared for beginners or perhaps people like me who do not want to spend a lot because they are not going to be played out or routinely with others. Of course, like many people who buy these all-in-one kits changes are usually made quickly in several areas.

I was pleased with the quality of the drums themselves for the money spent. I did change to Evans G2 coated heads to warm things up a bit but that's just a personal preference. The cymbals that came with the kit were better actually than I expected. However, I did swap them out for some very reasonably priced Meinl cymbals and again, that's just looking for a different tone than I was getting from the included cymbals. The throne that comes with the kit is not too bad but might be more comfortable for a smaller person. (I'm 6'2" and about 210 lbs.) I already had a nice beefy throne from DW and if you're a larger person you may want to consider an upgrade here. In the photos, you also see "Evans Drumhead Mute" covers for your snare and toms. They really cut the toms drastically-the snare not as much unless you double on the snare. Sure, it does suppress the rebound somewhat but it's great for practicing rudiments when someone else is home.

Overall, the Pearl Roadshow is a really good buy. I have no regrets choosing this kit at this price point. The hardware and the finish are better than I expected. At this low cost, this is great buy and Sweetwater is a great place to buy from.

Wow wow wow wow I love it

I've had the Roadshow for 3 years now, and it's a great starter kit and around-town setup. I've only had a few problems with this kit. First off, the cymbals are very low quality and will crack after a year or so, but buying a kit that comes with cymbals you should never expect a lot. Secondly, the lugs on the bass drum do not hold up very well at all, this is my biggest warning for buyers out there. The heads will crack open over time but well-expected. Overall it's a great setup but for frequent hard rock and metal players, it's hard to maintain.

Bought this kit for my grandson , it is a the best bang for the buck right now and a great starter to add toys later.

I got this for my nephew for his 6th birthday. He's quite good and we wanted to get him something decent that he could get quite a few years of play out of. This set offers a lot of stuff for the money, but as expected... it's not hi quality or robust. Nor will he be able to use this into his teens.

Unfortunately... if you're looking for a beginner kit for an adult... I can't recommend this. I'd suggest spending more money and getting something more robust. The cymbals on this will also need to be immediately replaced, since they're really quite useless. Example: My nephew already bent the edge of the crash through standard practice (no abuse).

Again... this is really a starter kit for a child. So... buyer beware.

This kit is amazing! This is my first kit so I did tons of research. After I picked this one, I also got the PDP 700 Series boom cymbal stand and the Sabian SBR performance cymbal set. All of these things sound great together. The current heads are pretty good but if you replaced them, this thing would easily compare to a professional kit. As always, I"m very impressed by sweetwaters customer service.

I’m an amateur drummer who’s been playing on old drum set for a few years. I was looking to upgrade to a set that was better than what I had, but nothing too expensive. The Pearl Roadshow set fit the bill for me. I was immediately impressed by the quality of the equipment and even more impressed by the sound considering what I was playing on before. I’m looking forward to spending more time playing on this set for sure.
